SEGA Arcade Tour - Akihabara + Pokémon ! - Tokyo, Japan.
Sega Arcade Tour - Akihabara - Tokyo, Japan.
Akihabara, A.K.A Akihabara Denki-gai Akihabara Electric Town, 秋あき葉は原ばら電でん気き街がい in Tokyo is famously known, as its name suggest, as a mecca for all electronic things. But over the years it’s evolved to become much more than that and is now the center for all things geek… video games, anime, manga (and of course, plenty of electronics).

VIDEO GAME (When Imaginary)
Akihabara (秋葉原?) is a district in the Chiyoda ward of Tokyo, Japan. The name Akihabara is a shortening of Akibagahara (秋葉が原?, autumn leaf field), which ultimately comes from Akiba (秋葉?), named after a fire-controlling deity of a firefighting shrine built after the area was destroyed by a fire in 1869.[1]
Akihabara gained the nickname Akihabara Electric Town (秋葉原電気街 Akihabara Denki Gai?) shortly after World War II for being a major shopping center for household electronic goods and the post-war black market.[2][3] Nowadays, Akihabara is considered by many to be an otaku cultural center and a shopping district for video games, anime, manga, and computer goods. Icons from popular anime and manga are displayed prominently on the shops in the area, and numerous maid cafés are found throughout the district.
Sega Games Co., Ltd.[a] (stylized as SEGA)[b] is a Japanese multinational video game developer and publisher headquartered in Tokyo. Its international branches, Sega of America and Sega Europe, are respectively headquartered in Irvine, California and London. Sega's arcade division, once part of Sega Corporation, has existed as Sega Interactive Co., Ltd. since 2015. Both companies are subsidiaries of Sega Holdings Co., Ltd., which is in turn a part of Sega Sammy Holdings.
Sega was founded by Martin Bromley and Richard Stewart as Nihon Goraku Bussan[c] on June 3, 1960. The company became known as Sega Enterprises, Ltd. after acquiring Rosen Enterprises, an importer of coin-operated games. Sega developed its first coin-operated game with Periscope in the late 1960s. In 1969, Sega was sold to Gulf and Western Industries. Following a downturn in the arcade business in the early 1980s, Sega began to develop video game consoles, starting with the SG-1000 and Master System, but struggled against competitors such as the Nintendo Entertainment System. In 1984, Sega executives David Rosen and Hayao Nakayama led a management buyout of the company with backing from CSK Corporation.
Sega released its next console, the Sega Genesis (known as the Mega Drive outside North America), in 1988. Although it was a distant third in Japan, the Genesis found major success after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991 and briefly outsold its main competitor, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, in the U.S. However, later in the decade, Sega suffered commercial failures such as the 32X, Sega Saturn, and Dreamcast consoles. In 2001, Sega stopped manufacturing consoles to become a third-party developer and publisher, and was acquired by Sammy Corporation in 2004. In the years since the acquisition, Sega has been more profitable. Sega Holdings Co. Ltd. was established in 2015, with Sega Corporation being renamed Sega Games Co., Ltd. and its arcade, entertainment, and toys divisions separated into other companies.
Sega produces multi-million-selling game franchises including Sonic the Hedgehog, Total War, and Yakuza, and is the world's most prolific arcade game producer. It also operates amusement arcades and produces other entertainment products, including Sega Toys. As a company, Sega is retrospectively remembered for its time supporting its own video game consoles, its creativity, and its innovations. It has been criticized for misguided business decisions and a loss of development creativity.

Japan Vlogventures - Horror Ghibli, Akihabara Hell, Final Feelings Fantasy Cafe
I was severely in my happy feelings upon arriving in Japan, a lot of nervousness from being in a foreign country for the first time. Not being able to read signs or communicate well was really alienating, but I must say that everyone I came in contact with was polite and patient.. and spoke some degree of English!
That Final Fantasy cafe gave me so much emotion, and I spent many waking hours at the UFO machines! ..SO MUCH MONEY SPENT. SO MANY FIGURES. DAMN YOU, TINY WAIFUS. It did create the pro claw team that is Clawed 9, though.

Akihabara BEEP Day 1 Part 2 VLOG Game Hunting | Retro Gamer Girl
A look around two great stores in Akiharaba! BEEP is by far one of the coolest - it's well laid out and they always seem to have a great selection. This time we walked away with the Space Harrier set for the Sega Saturn!
I'll do my best to reply to all questions on each video daily. I do understand that Aki is more expensive for games then outside Tokyo and those videos are incoming. Reverting back to my laptop for editing is a slower process ✌️

WEIRD THINGS YOU WILL FIND AT AKIHABARA (Vending Machines, Games, and more)
In today's vlog, we visit Akihabara to discover the weirder side of Tokyo.
Akihabara is well known for its shops that sell electronics, games, toys and possibly most famously, Anime merchandise. While neither of us are Anime fans, Akihabara was on our list of places to see during our time in Tokyo. We find games that give us a blast from the past and a whole host of other things that leave us scratching our heads. You'll have to watch to see what we mean . . .
Plus we find a budget friendly spot for delicious Tonkotsu Ramen! Yum.
Before we make it to Akihabara, we try some pizza buns from 7-Eleven for breakfast before making our way from Shinjuku to Ueno where we will be staying for the rest of our time in Tokyo. We get more sushi for lunch (of course) and make a pit-stop at Uniqlo before strolling through Ueno Onshi Park on our way to Akihabara.
Every day we spend in Japan, we love it more. Hope you enjoy today's video! :)

Akihabara
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Akihabara (Japanese: 秋葉原), also known as Akihabara Electric Town (Japanese: 秋葉原電気街 Hepburn: Akihabara Denki Gai), is a district of Tokyo, Japan. It is located less than five minutes by rail from Tokyo Station. Its name is frequently shortened to Akiba (アキバ) in Japan. While there is an official locality named Akibahara, which is also 秋葉原 in kanji, nearby (as part of Taitō-ku), the area known to most people as Akihabara (including the railway station of the same name) also include Soto-Kanda, a part of Chiyoda-ku.
Akihabara is a major shopping area for electronic, computer, anime, games and otaku goods, including new and used items. New items are mostly to be found on the main street, Chūōdōri, with many kinds of used items found in the back streets of Soto Kanda 3-chōme. New parts for PC-building are readily available from a variety of stores. Tools, electrical parts, wires, microsized cameras and similar items are found in the cramped passageways of Soto Kanda 1-chōme (near the station). Foreign tourists tend to visit the big name shops like Laox or other speciality shops near the station, though there is more variety and lower prices at locales a little further away. Akihabara gained some fame through being home to one of the first stores devoted to personal robots and robotics.
The area was just out of Sujikai-gomon city gate (present Mansei bridge) which was one of the city gates (Mitsuke) of old Edo (Tokyo). It was the gateway from inner Edo to northern and northwestern Japan and Kan'ei-ji temple in Ueno. Many dealers, craftsmen and relatively lower class samurai lived there.
Akihabara Station
Akihabara Station (秋葉原駅 Akihabara-eki) is a railway station located in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward. It is at the center of the famous Akihabara shopping district specializing in electronic goods.
