Chinese Pyramids - Shaanxi Xi'An complex
pyramids in China in Shinaaxi, discovered in 1912 by 2 travel agents, they reported large and eerie structures in the wilderness, but for the most part ignored and went largely and ultimately unoticed, until during WWII, during WWII 2 american pilots made claims and reports of large and unsuall structures in the flat regions of the wilderness area. this was noted also later after the war in 1947 in New York Sunday News with the alleged photos taken by them and put in the recon reports, but it went largely unnoticed. after more years of noticing and un-noticing it, it was finally beginning to have notice by 1994 although not big, and till this day not a big notice as much as the giza pyramids. Terracotta Army Replica Factory, Xi'An, Shaanxi, China, Asia
The Terracotta Army or the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210--209 BC and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. The figures, dating from around the late third century BC, were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi province. The figures vary in height according to their roles, with the tallest being the generals. The figures include warriors, chariots and horses. Current estimates are that in the three pits containing the Terracotta Army there were over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses, the majority of which are still buried in the pits near by Qin Shi Huang's mausoleum. Other terracotta non-military figures were also found in other pits and they include officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians. The Terracotta Army was discovered on 29 March 1974 to the east of Xi'an in Shaanxi province by a group of farmers when they were digging a water well around 1.6 km (1 mile) east of the Qin Emperor's tomb mound at Mount Li (Lishan), a region riddled with underground springs and watercourses. For centuries, there had been occasional reports of pieces of terracotta figures and fragments of the Qin necropolis roofing tiles, bricks, and chunks of masonry having been dug up in the area. This most recent discovery prompted Chinese archaeologists to investigate, and they unearthed the largest pottery figurine group ever found in China. In addition to the warriors, an entire man-made necropolis for the Emperor has also been found around the first Emperor's tomb mound. The tomb mound is located at the foot of Mount Li as an earthen pyramid, and Qin Shi Huangdi's necropolis complex was constructed as a microcosm of his imperial palace or compound. It consists of several offices, halls, stables and other structures placed around the tomb mound which is surrounded by two solidly built rammed earth walls with gateway entrances. Up to 5 metres (16 feet) of reddish, sandy soil had accumulated over the site in the two millennia following its construction, but archaeologists found evidence of earlier disturbances at the site. During the digs near the Mount Li burial mound, archaeologists found several graves dating from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, where diggers had apparently struck terracotta fragments which were then discarded as worthless back into the back-filled soil. According to historian Sima Qian (145--90 BC), work on this mausoleum began in 246 BC soon after Emperor Qin ascended the throne (then aged 13), and the full construction later involved 700,000 workers. Geographer Li Daoyuan, six centuries after the death of the First Emperor, recorded in Shui Jing Zhu that Mount Li was a favoured location due to its auspicious geology: ... famed for its jade mines, its northern side was rich in gold, and its southern side rich in beautiful jade; the First Emperor, covetous of its fine reputation, therefore chose to be buried there. Sima Qian, in his most famous work, Shiji, completed a century after the mausoleum completion, wrote that the First Emperor was buried with palaces, towers, officials, valuable artefacts and wonderful objects. According to this account, there were 100 rivers simulated with flowing mercury, and above them the ceiling was decorated with heavenly bodies below which were the features of the land. Some translations of this passage refer to models or imitations, those words however weren't used in the original text with no mention of the terracotta army. Recent scientific work at the site has found high levels of mercury in the soil of the tomb mound, giving some credence to Sima Qian's account of the emperor's tomb. The tomb of Shi Huangdi appears to be a hermetically sealed space that is as big as a football pitch and located underneath the pyramidal tomb mound. The tomb remains unopened, one possible reason may be concerns about the preservation of valuable artifacts once the tomb is opened. For example, after their excavation, the painted surface present on some figures of the terracotta army began to flake and fade. In fact, the lacquer covering the paint can curl in 15 seconds once exposed to the dry air of Xi'an and can flake off in just four minutes. Later historical accounts suggested that the tomb had been looted by Xiang Yu, a contender for the throne after the death of the Emperor, however there are indications that the tomb may not have been plundered.

Xi'an Guyue (西安鼓乐) is a genre of traditional ensemble music used primarily for ceremonial purposes in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, northwest China. It is believed to be of great antiquity and is often called a living fossil of Chinese music (音乐活化石). It is written down using an archaic system of musical notation and the repertoire comprises about 3,000 pieces. The tradition was nearly lost during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and 1970s.
In 2006 Xi'an Guyue was included in the first installment of 518 traditions inscribed in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China (第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录) by China's State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH, 国家文物局), an agency under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture (中华人民共和国文化部) that was formerly known as the State Cultural Relics Bureau (国家文物局文化部).
In 2007 Xi'an guyue, centering on the Shaanxi Institute of Arts (陕西省艺术研究所) in Xi'an, was further included as the first of 145 traditions in the First Batch of the Shaanxi Province Intangible Cultural Heritage List (陕西省第一批非物质文化遗产名录). In 2009 it was inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

XI'AN Vlog | I Spent Time In A CHINESE VILLAGE & Saw THE TERRACOTTA WARRIORS ! | Natalie-Katelynn
** OPEN ME**
Hello Beautiful people! :)
If you follow me on Instagram (@thestylishmed) then you already know I recently traveled to Xi’an, one of the oldest and most historic cities in China. This was just to get a breather after the hectic months we’d had since taking part in a competition with many levels.
Xi’an was great, the food there is different from what we’re used to in our city and there were many tourist attractions to visit too.
Even though I got to see The Terracotta Warriors (A UNESCO HERITAGE and possibly the 8th Wonder of The World), my favorite was Yuan Jia Cun, the village — I was amazed by how the people that live there have turned their home into a business and make almost half a billion yuan a year.
I strongly suggest that you visit Xi’an if you ever come to China one.
Let me know what you guys think of Xi’an.

Huashan 华山 Travel VLOG (Shaanxi, China)
Visited: March-2018
Famously known as the mountain with one of the world’s “Most Dangerous Hiking Trail”, Huashan (华山) is one of the Five Great Mountains of China.
There's 5 peaks on Huashan (North, South, East, West, Centre), with trails linking them all. Only 2 of the peaks are equipped with cable car service (North and West).
On the day of our visit, the longer/higher West peak cable car service was closed due to strong winds. Thus we could only use the North peak cable car to visit North Peak 华山北峰 (lowest of the peaks). With a kid in tow, it wasn't convenient to attempt the climb from North peak to the other peaks. Thus we only explored the area around North Peak, which itself is more than scenic.

Xi’an Zhongshu Bookstore by Wutopia Lab Modern white bookstore
Xi’an Zhongshu Bookstore by Wutopia Lab: Modern white bookstore designed to curve de imagination
Architects: Wutopia Lab
Location: 67 Ming Guang Lu, Weiyang Qu, Xian Shi, Shaanxi Sheng, China
Area: 20.300 ft²/ 1.886 m²
Description:
“Wutopia Lab recently designed an entirely white Zhongshu Bookstore in Xi’an, one of the most ancient cities in China which used to be the capital for thirteen dynasties, with 300 tons of steel and 30,000 meters of light strips.
We aborted our design of a direct entry into the bookstore, and created a glittering entrance in the commercial space on the fourth floor; this required to make free of the floor slab of fifth floor into the main area of the bookstore without destroying the main structure. We built a pillarless white curvy staircase, highlighted by a spiral white panel, surrounded by custom-made white acrylic walls. Readers coming from their everyday life, heading up the stairs step by step, and are encouraged by the spirit of knowledge and curiosity displayed through the books around them to enter the bookstore over the clouds.
The basic space of the bookstore consists of popular book recommendation areas and public reading areas. We decided to make a reading paradise over the “clouds”, and it should have a light and streamlined free space, but in order to follow the restrictions of fire codes, we had to challenge the traditional types and materials of the bookshelf. For the first time, we used 5mm thick steel plates to customize curved bookshelves.
After precise structural calculations, the steel frame that is hidden behind the foundation is used as the support of the structure. The over 3,000 meters long steel plated bookshelf floats in the air as a cantilevered structure. Digital concepts and technologies are used in order to realize such a soft and free space: each piece of steel plate has been optimized through programming, processed by CNC machine tools, and then assembled on site according to the numbering.
The free flowing bookshelf outlined by a curve has a total of ten levels, making full use of the corners of the public reading area. The rounded chamfers leave the space with no sharp corner, the back panel is made by a translucent acrylic; whereas the book recommendation area of the white bookstore is to suspend the triangular steel plate with a slender screw, so that the books displayed above seem to float in the air. This is a brand new experience to the Zhongshu bookstore branches.
There is a pantheon in central of the public reading area. In the center of the floor structural beams stands an exquisite displaying rack for Zhongshu’s “Book of the Month” selection, and can only be held by one person at a time. The floor slab here was replaced with a glass floor in order to mimic an illusion of water surface. The space underneath it holds a room for reading meeting or a mini conference. This invisible academy and the visible pantheon together form the center of Zhongshu Bookstore — an oasis where the mind and soul can be rejuvenated and set free.
Zhongshu Bookstore’s children’s library is a crystal structure hidden in the forest. It was inspired by the trees and animal silhouettes of the nine-colored deer to protect the children’s Wonderland. Kids will find their own hidden entrances, a hidden world of playful tricks and caves, and have the skylines of the architecture, blue skies and starry nights. This is a world for children.
Zhongshu Bookstore’s children’s library is a crystal structure hidden in the forest. It was inspired by the trees and animal silhouettes of the nine-colored deer to protect the children’s Wonderland. The design and construction of Zhongshu Bookstore which lasted 600 days is not only the transcendence of Zhongshu Bookstore itself, but also represents the great urban revival that Xi’an is currently experiencing. The whitest bookstore is filled with various kinds of ancient souls of various temperatures with pure thoughts, memories, and hopes.
I hope my architectural practices reiterate our everyday life through immense imaginations and dramatic artistic expressions. I also hop that it transforms reality into a “magic reality” and creates an illusion that uncovers bits of truths in our life. Miracle, raising from ordinary life, is believed to be both a magnification and a fated outcome of ordinary life — the stories of which can be colored and told in an extraordinary fashion. Zhongshu Bookstore pays the tribute and performs a white Divine Comedy to the capital of thirteen dynasties — Xi’an.”
