The writers explore the local history of the city including the sites of the former Elizabethan playhouse The Curtain Theatre in Shoreditch and The Cockpit Theatre near Drury Lane.
This is part of our series of 8 short films for the British Council’s Shakespeare Lives programme, celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death and exploring Shakespeare’s continuing influence on international literature today.

This is Day 16 of our vacation in the United Kingdom, but it is actually the eighth day of our Trafalgar Coach Tour called, “England and Scotland Heritage Tour”. In this video, we visit Stratford-upon-Avon where we see the Anne Hathaway cottage and walk through the Shakespeare gift shop. We make our way back to London where we say goodbye to Big Ben and the London Eye.
