Shaoshan Hunan China Visiting 1890s China House of Chairman Mao Zedong [Small Girl Big World]
In this video, follow me to visit to Shaoshan Hunan China, the birthplace of Chairman Mao Zedong, the founder of People's Republic of China. I will be visiting to his former residence where he was born. In another word, you will be seeing together with me the China house design that was built around 1890s.
Shaoshan is 120 kilometers away from Changsha. I took approximate 1 hour by car. This small city now prosperous under domestic tourism. It is now become one of the top Hunan China tourist attractions.
In Chairman Mao Zedong former residence, we can witness the first hand the original house although the house was damaged and fix in the passage of time. As per other traditional china houses, Chairman Mao Zedong house is built with wood, clay and bricks. The furnitures, tables, chairs are the original that were once used by Chairman Mao Zedong and his family.
Just walking distance away from the Chairman Mao house is a primary school where he was studying during his earlier year. Here in the school, the interior and furnishing is still well preserve and even the lunch box and shoe of Chairman Mao are the exhibits.
Nearby is the Mao Zedong Square. Here, Chinese pay there respect to Chairman Mao by giving flower and bow to the founder of People's Republic of China.
The first Vice Chairman of China was Liu Shaoqi. He is a native Hunan too and his former residence is not far away from Chairman Mao. There is a museum dedicated to him as well as well Liu Shaoqi Square where we can pay respect to Liu Shaoqi.

The Summer Residence of Mao Zedong, Wuhan - China Travel Channel
Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province is a historic site of newer Chinese history. On the shores of the East China Sea is the former summer residence of Mao Zedong, the 1st chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The summer residence is equipped with a tennis court, pool and its own movie theater. In addition to Mao’s furniture, there is a collection of pictures of famous people who stayed at the residence, including Marshall Montgomery who met with Mao here in 1961.
Apart from Mao's bedroom you can also visit the private rooms of his wife, Chiang Ching (Jiang Qing), as well as a bunker with escape route. In the past, the East China Sea was covered with lotus blossoms, but after an attempted attack by two nationalistic Chinese divers, Mao had the lotus plants removed. Today the sea is used to cultivate pearls. Next to Mao’s residence is the new guest house of the Communist Party.

China historic landmark - Birthplace of Mao Zedong
Shaoshan is a small village of which tens of thousands exist across China. What sets Shaoshan apart, however, is that it is the birthplace of Mao Zedong, the founder of the People's Republic of China. Despite the Great Helmsman's political miscalculations (that had severe social and economic implications for the Chinese people), Mao is still widely popular in the country.

Shanghai Museum in the Huangpu District, China
The Shanghai Museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art, situated on the People's Square in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, China. Rebuilt at its current location in 1996, it is considered one of China's first world-class modern museums.
The museum was founded in 1952 and was first open to the public in the former Shanghai Racecourse club house, now at 325 West Nanjing Road. The museum's founding collections came principally from three sources: a batch of artefacts gathered by the Communist 3rd Field Army during the civil war from accidental finds and confiscations of private property and brought to Shanghai upon the Communists' conquest of the city; artefacts confiscated by the customs service; items sold by private collectors due to political pressure during political purges and purchased by the government. The former Shanghai Municipal Museum was also merged into the new Shanghai Museum.

The Life And Death Of Jiang Qing AKA Madame Mao
Jiang Qing (Chinese: 江青; Wade–Giles: Chiang Ch'ing, also known as Madame Mao; March 19, 1914 – May 14, 1991) was a Chinese actress and a major political figure during the Cultural Revolution. She was the wife of Mao Zedong, the Chairman of the Communist Party of China. She used the stage name Lan Ping (蓝苹) during her acting career, and was known by many other names (see names section below). She married Mao in Yan'an in November 1938 and served as the inaugural first lady of the People's Republic of China. Jiang Qing was best known for playing a major role in the Cultural Revolution (1966–76) and for forming the radical political alliance known as the Gang of Four.
Jiang Qing served as Mao's personal secretary in the 1940s and was head of the Film Section of the Communist Party's Propaganda Department in the 1950s. She served as an important emissary for Mao in the early stages of the Cultural Revolution. In 1966 she was appointed deputy director of the Central Cultural Revolution Group. She collaborated with Lin Biao to advance Mao's unique brand of Communist ideology as well as Mao's cult of personality. At the height of the Cultural Revolution, Jiang Qing held significant influence in the affairs of state, particularly in the realm of culture and the arts, and was idolized in propaganda posters as the Great Flagbearer of the Proletarian Revolution. In 1969, Jiang gained a seat on the Politburo.
Before Mao's death, the Gang of Four maintained control of many of China's political institutions, including the media and propaganda. However, Jiang Qing, deriving most of her political legitimacy from Mao, often found herself at odds with other top leaders. Mao's death in 1976 dealt a significant blow to Jiang Qing's political fortunes. She was arrested in October 1976 by Hua Guofeng and his allies, and was subsequently condemned by party authorities. Since then, Jiang Qing has been officially branded as having been part of the Lin Biao and Jiang Qing Counter-Revolutionary Clique (林彪江青反革命集团), to which most of the blame for the damage and devastation caused by the Cultural Revolution was assigned. Though initially sentenced to death, her sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 1983. After being released for medical treatment, Jiang Qing committed suicide in May 1991
iang Qing was born in Zhucheng, Shandong province on March 19, 1914. Her birth name was Lǐ Shūméng (李淑蒙). She was the only child of Li Dewen (李德文), a carpenter, and his subsidiary wife, or concubine. Her father ran his own carpentry and cabinet making shop. After Jiang's parents had a violent argument, her mother found work as a domestic servant (some accounts cite that Jiang's mother also worked as a prostitute) and separated from her husband.
When Jiang enrolled in elementary school, she took the name Lĭ Yúnhè (李云鹤), meaning Crane in the Clouds, by which she was known for much of her early life. Due to her socioeconomic status and the fact that she was an illegitimate child, she was looked down upon by her schoolmates and she and her mother moved in with her maternal grandparents when she started middle school. In 1926, when she was 12 years old, her father died. Jiang's mother relocated them to Tianjin where she worked as a child laborer in a cigarette factory for several months. Two years later, Jiang and her mother settled in Jinan. The following summer, she entered an experimental theater and drama school. Her talent brought her to the attention of administrators who selected her to join a drama club in Beijing where she advanced her acting skills. She returned to Jinan in May 1931 and married Pei Minglun, the wealthy son of a businessman. The marriage was an unhappy one and they soon divorced.
From July 1931 to April 1933, Jiang attended Qingdao University in Qingdao. She met Yu Qiwei, a biology student three years her senior, who was an underground member of the Communist Party Propaganda Department. By 1932, they had fallen in love and were living together. She joined the Communist Cultural Front, a circle of artists, writers, and actors, and performed in Put Down Your Whip, a renowned popular play about a woman who escapes from Japanese-occupied north-eastern China and performs in the streets to survive. In February 1933, Jiang took the oath of the Chinese Communist Party with Yu at her side, and she was appointed member of the Chinese Communist Party youth wing. Yu was arrested in April the same year and Jiang was subsequently shunned by his family. She fled to her parents' home in Shanghai and returned to the drama school in Jinan, where she was warmly received. Through friendships she had previously established, she received an introduction to attend Shanghai University for the summer where she also taught some general literacy classes. In October, she rejoined the Communist Youth League, and at the same time, began participating in an amateur drama troupe.
Chinese CEO Describes Life under Chariman Mao

Soong Ching Ling Memorial Residence / 宋庆龄故居
The Soong Ching Ling Memorial Residence / 宋庆龄故居, located at 1843 Middle Huaihai Road, is the former residence of Soong Ching-ling (wife of Sun Yat-sen and later Vice-President and Honorary President of the People's Republic of China) in Shanghai, China, from 1948 to 1963. It is in the west part of the former Shanghai French Concession area and was built in the 1920s by a Greek shipping magnate.
It covers a land area of 4,333 square metres (46,640 sq ft), and comprises a white three-story building with front and back yards.
After the end of the Sino-Japanese War in 1945, Soong Ching-ling donated her residence, located at 29 rue Molière (present-day Xiangshan Road), to the government of the Republic of China as a memorial to her deceased husband, President Sun Yat-sen. In return, the government conferred this house on her. In spring 1949, Soong moved from 45 Jingjiang Road to this residence, where she soon witnessed the capture of Shanghai by the Communist Party of China.
After the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Soong served in several prominent positions in the central government, including Vice-President of China, that her residence in Shanghai became an important working space. In the house, Song met not only senior CPC leaders, including Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi and Deng Yingchao, but also foreign statesmen, such as Sukarno, Kim Il Sung, Kliment Voroshilov, U Nu, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
From April 1963, due to her work, Soong spent most of her time in Beijing, and only returned to Shanghai for occasional stays and holidays. On December 31 1978, Song returned to Shanghai for the Spring Festival and stayed there until the end of February 1979. This was her last stay in Shanghai.
Soong died in Beijing on May 29, 1981. Her house in Shanghai was refurbished and opened to a limited circle in October. On October 22 of that year, the memorial residence was accredited with being a Shanghai Municipal Preserved Cultural Relic by the city government. It was opened to the public in May 1988, and became one of patriotic education sites in Shanghai. On June 25 2001, Song's memorial residence became a National Key Preserved Cultural Relic honored by the State Council.
