This video covers three of Nashville's best places to go hiking. The three hikes of the video include:
Warner Parks- There are two parks inside of Warner Parks which are Edwin Warner and Percy Warner park. 3,100 acres of forest and fields and only about 9 miles from Downtown Nashville.
Radnor Lake- This park has paved trails(closed to vehicle traffic) and several primitive trails. This park 1,332 acres and is surrounded by a lake with much wildlife.
Shelby Bottoms Greenway- This park offers not only paved trails but also dirt trails. It runs mostly along the Cumberland River and is only a few miles away from Nashville Tennessee.

2004 - CSX Freight with UP and SP Power at Shelby Park
A CSX freight is southbound on the L&N trestle over Shelby Park and the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee. On the far side of the river it also crosses the Nashville and Eastern Railroad (the old Tennessee Central). The train has Union Pacific and Southern Pacific locomotives.

Nashville Greenways
Nashville has recently been making a major push to create more connected greenways throughout the urban corridor. One of my favorite greenways starts in downtown's Bicentennial Park, weaves down the west side of the Cumberland, crosses the Shelby Street Bridge and heads into East Nashville. Lorraine Motel, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, United States, North America
The National Civil Rights Museum is a complex of museums and historic buildings in Memphis, Tennessee; its exhibits trace the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the 17th century to the present. The museum is built around the former Lorraine Motel, where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. Two other buildings and their adjacent property, also connected with the King assassination, have been acquired as part of the museum complex. The museum reopened in 2014 after renovations that increased the number of multi-media and interactive exhibits, including numerous short movies to enhance features. The museum is owned and operated by the Lorraine Civil Rights Museum Foundation, based in Memphis. The Lorraine Motel is owned by the Tennessee State Museum and leased long term to the Foundation to operate as part of the museum complex. On October 21, 2016, the museum was honored by becoming a Smithsonian Affiliate museum. The site began as the 16-room Windsorlorrine Hotel around 1925 and was later known as the Marquette Hotel. In 1945, Walter Bailey purchased it and renamed it for his wife Loree and the song Sweet Lorraine. During the segregation era, Bailey operated the motel as upscale lodging that catered to a black clientele. He added a second floor, a swimming pool, and drive-up access for more rooms on the south side of the complex. He changed the name from Lorraine Hotel to Lorraine Motel. Among its guests through the 1960s were musicians going to Stax Records, including Ray Charles, Lionel Hampton, Aretha Franklin, Ethel Waters, Otis Redding, the Staple Singers and Wilson Pickett. Following the assassination of King, Bailey withdrew Room 306 (where King died) and the adjoining room 307 from use, maintaining them as a memorial to the activist leader. Bailey's wife, Loree, suffered a stroke hours after the assassination and died five days later. Bailey reduced the operation by converting the other motel rooms to single room occupancy for low-income residential use.

CSX Mixed Freight North on CSX / L&N Trestle Nashville, TN Shelby Park
A northbound mixed freight is crossing the CSX high bridge, originally built by L&N as part of the Radnor cut-off that bypasses Union Station and downtown Nashville. This bridge crosses the Cumberland River. The park is built in the river bottom and occasionally gets flooded. South of the river the bridge also crosses the Nashville and Eastern Railroad (Tennessee Central Railway) at the Nashville Water Works.
This view of one section of the bridge gives you an idea of its impressive size.
The locomotives are CSX 7308 and CSX 3171.

Shelby Blackstock is an American racing driver from Nashville, Tennessee. He is also recognized as the son of country music singer Reba McEntire and her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock.
Shelby Blackstock’s Early Life, Childhood, and Education
Shelby was born in Nashville, Tennessee on February 23, 1990, as Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock to parents Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock. He has an older half-brother, Brandon Blackstock who is married to singer Kelly Clarkson. Additionally, he also has two older half-sisters, Shawna and Chassidy.
Shelby became interested in the world of racing since his childhood years. He is of American nationality. Furthermore, he has not revealed information relating to his ethnic background at present.
Talking about his education, Shelby attended Bob Bondurant race school. Later, he dropped out of college and decided to pursue a racing career full-time.
Shelby Blackstock’s Career, Salary and Net Worth
Initially, Shelby made his first significant appearance in Skip Barber competition in 2010 and 2011. Later, in 011 he made his professional debut driving a Ford Mustang in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. In addition, he also finished fifth in the 2011 Skip Barber National Championship.
In 2012, Shelby moved to the U.S. F2000 National Championship with Andretti Autosport. He finished eighth in points with a best finish of fourth at Road America. Furthermore, he moved up with Andretti Autosport to the Pro Mazda Championship in 2013 and eventually finished third in points and captured a win at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park among six podium finishes in 16 races.
Shelby signed to race for Andretti Autosport in the Indy Lights series in 2015. He has not revealed his current salary. However, he has an estimated net worth of around $ 8 million.

Cumberland Park, Nashville TN
Cumberland Park is a great play location right at downtown Nashville.
Parking is free at the Titan's stadium, right behind the park. You can also easily walk across the pedestrian bridge to get lunch.
When the weather is warm, there are fountains to play in. There are concerts and events in the covered theater, along with slides and great views of downtown and access to interesting boats going up and down the river.

Cornelia Fort Airpark was a privately owned, public-use airport located five nautical miles (9 km) northeast of the central business district of Nashville, in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. Cornelia Fort was the first female pilot to die on war duty in American history and the airpark was built in 1945 near her family farm.The 141-acre airport was located on part of a plot of land granted to early Nashvillian Ephraim McLean for service in the Revolutionary War, near what is still known as McLean's Bend in the Cumberland River in East Nashville. The airport operated from 1944 until 2011, when the city of Nashville acquired it to include it as non-aviation part of Shelby Park.

Nashville, Tennessee - February 18th, 2019
Nashville was so much fun! Being a country music lover, I spent two wonderful days smiling from ear to ear ????
We went to the Bicentennial Park, the Tennessee State Capitol, the Country Music Walk of Fame, the Gulch and the murals in 12th South.
We spent some time at the Honky Tonk Central and walked in basically every single Honky Tonk (bars where they play live country music) on Music Row. We were able to go to a few rooftops as well, despite it being a rainy day.
We finished off our trip with a walk on the Shelby Pedestrian Bridge and a view of downtown Nashville.
We had SO much fun and I definitely will be back to spend a summer weekend in one of the most alive cities I’ve been to! ????❤️

Retired Man's Bike Trips all over the U.S.
I am not ready for the Tour de France or in any way a competitive biker or racer. I am retired educator who needed to find a way to get outside, travel, get in much better shape and have fun. Over the past year I took up bicycling on a refurbished 2009 Haro XL Express hybrid comfort bike that I got from Old Bikes Belong in Louisville, KY and my retired life is awesome now.
I have been able to ride on trails as far south as Tampa, FL, as far north as Ottawa, ON, as far east as Washington DC and as far west as San Francisco, CA and ride 5-6 days a week, from as little as five to as much as 50 miles a day. Except for a few dirt and mountain paths (and on UNDERGROUND) these are mostly paved, relatively flat and enjoyable trails that are used by thousands. I do not like to ride on city streets and do not include bike lanes in my videos......just a preference as I value my life more than adventure.
I have included my favorite video clips from the following cities as well, taken mostly with a GoPro Hero3, helmet mounted and some with an IPhone clipped to my shirt, so I know some of them bounce a bit! I hope this helps someone as many of my rides have been discovered on YouTube and I find myself saying, I can do that!. Enjoy and know that if this 60 year old, 6'5 retiree can get out there and do it and lose fifty pounds, so can you! I'd be happy to provide feedback for others if you need it! Now that it's done snowing bring on 2015!
