Thai Hua Museum in Phuket, Thailand
Thai Hua Museum is a delightful historic attraction located on Krabi Road, in Phuket Old Town, not far from Baan Chinpracha Mansion and Soi Romanee. A renovated Sino-Portuguese building, the museum itself is historic, and its exhibits tell a fascinating story of Phuket’s heritage and of the Chinese immigrants who made the island their home and became a crucial part of its society.
There are more than 12 exhibition rooms in all, spanning both floors of this stately building, and the museum also boasts a pretty inner courtyard open to the sky; one of the most charming features of this form of architecture. You will also find a lush garden, where you can examine machinery and tools used in Phuket’s tin mining past.
The museum’s exhibits, which tell the story of Phuket’s traditions, its evolution, and its Chinese population, include some short films in both Thai and Chinese, with English subtitles for the benefit of foreign tourists. They enable you to learn about the island’s heritage from new perspectives, giving fresh insight into Phuket’s links with China and how Chinese immigrants influenced local food, architecture and customs. The museum itself previously functioned as a Chinese-language school - the first of its kind on the island - and Thai Hua is run by a charitable foundation set up by well-to-do Chinese immigrants who are dedicated to the noble cause of improving the lifestyle of fellow immigrants and islanders.
Entry to the museum is just 200THB per person; make sure you pay a visit, to learn more about the island’s past and uncover some intriguing facts about the rich cultural traditions which have become part of the fabric of Phuket, traditions which help make it such a special destination for tourists from around the world.

Rawai VIP Villas is a luxury villa community located in southern Phuket. It is situated just 300 meters from Rawai Beach and other seafront tourist attractions such as cafés, restaurants, massage shops, grocery stores and a seafood market. The complex is only a 10 minute drive away from the picturesque Ya Nui and Nai Harn swimming beaches.
Rawai, the most actively growing area in the south of Phuket, has several popular beaches, a number of famous viewpoints, a pier and a harbor, which is used for boat docking year round. The Rawai area has a developed infrastructure that includes a large number of restaurants and cafes, as well as massage parlors, sports clubs, kindergartens and schools, and both small and large shops and supermarkets.
The southern part of Rawai borders with the sea at Chalong. The main road, Wiset, begins on the Chalong Circle, leads to the Rawai pier and then continues towards the Phromptep Cape, the southern viewpoint of the island. On the Rawai western coast, there are a number of popular beaches. The eastern coast is not suitable for swimming because of the strong tides, but there is a wonderful “hidden pearl,” Laem Ka beach, which features calm water all year round.
In the Northwest, Rawai borders with the Kata-Karon district. Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon Beaches are located at a distance of 5-10 km. The road running from Rawai to Kata itself is an attraction. It runs through the mountains located along the coast and provides picturesque scenery featuring rich flora with bright, vivid hues of green. It’s worth noting that road is of the highest quality. It has perfectly smooth asphalt and all the dangerous areas are protected by barriers and road signs, so travel is very comfortable. Here you’ll find a number of different activities including trekking with elephants (which are always visible from the road), extreme rope jungle treks, quad biking trips, and even a shooting range. There are also a couple of restaurants and bars located seemingly on the edge of the earth. And of course, there is a lounge on the hotel roof that any guest can go to. This is such an amazing road, on which you can spend a whole weekend traveling.

WHERE YOU CAN FIND US
Thailand's most beautiful temples
It is our 7th day in Thailand, we are back in Bangkok and it’s time to visit the beautiful temples the city has to offer.
It is 35C outside with an 80% humidity and we have a lot to do today. There is no such a thing as waking up early in the morning to skip the heat. As soon as the sun rises it’s boiling hot and there’s not much you can do about it. On top of the heat, by the time we arrive to the Grand Palace, we realized that we cant go into the palace in shorts. It was too much of a journey to go back and change so we had to buy some pants at the entrance. It looked hideous and cost us about £8, so hear is a lesson for you, when visiting the grand palace, don’t go in shorts.
The palace is amazing, it is spread across an area of 218,400 square metres. This means you can spend easily a couple of hours roaming around and admiring the architecture, art, history, temples and finding your way among thousand of tourists walking in and out from the palace.
Wat Arun – another beautiful place, unfortunately under construction and we were unable to climb the stairs, but surely it was worth a visit.
Despite the heat, we kept going and visited the reclining Buddha which is a 46m golden plated Buddha in a temple. That’s all it’s there to see, but the size is mind blowing.
The entrance was £2 which included a small bottle of cold water.
Once we visited the temples, we took a break to cool down and to grab something too eat. We went into the market next to the temple and had some banana pancake, mangosteens and other snacks, aaah I really miss those threats.
It was a really long day, so I divided my vlog into 2 parts. This one is about the temples and the grand palace. The 2nd part will be about China Town, eating some crazy snacks and then in the evening looking down the city from one of the sky-bars in Bangkok.
Good stuff coming up, so stay tuned and enjoy the video.

A Trip to Pahurat (พาหุรัด) - Bangkok's Little India
Visit my website for lots for travel and food, click here:
Pahurat (พาหุรัด), located just a five minute walk from Yaowarat Chinatown in Bangkok, Thailand, is the Little India of Thailand. Though it's a small area, Pahurat is packed with all kinds of interesting Indian merchandise, textiles, cloth, and a few reputable Indian restaurants.
Though I haven't yet been to India (I would love to go soon), I sometimes go to Pahurat (พาหุรัด) to explore and of course dine of delicious Indian food.
In this video after doing a little walking around and checking out the area, I went over to one of my favorite street side Indian restaurants in Bangkok - a small eatery known as Toney Restaurant.
Indian food in Bangkok is not normally overly cheap, in fact it's been marketed as quite an expensive cuisine and often housed in nicer sit down restaurants. However, Pahurat (พาหุรัด), there is plenty of Indian food available and many things are quite a bit cheaper than other Indian restaurants in town.
So next time you visit Bangkok, be sure to stop by Pahurat for street food and exploration!

Collecting sea shells at Carpinteria State Beach.
Carpinteria State Beach is an excellent white sand beach right in the city of Carpinteria. The state beach starts at Linden Avenue and continues south to Tar Pits Beach at the south end of the park. In between these end points are several campgrounds with over 200 camping spots. At the day-use facility near Linden Avenue you’ll find all the amenities to enjoy a full day here and downtown Carpinteria is nearby with restaurants and shops. Tide pools can be seen at low tide at the south end of the beach near the San Miguel Campground. A lagoon at Carpinteria Creek in the center of the park is a great place for bird-watching. You can walk into the state park from Linden Avenue. If street parking in that area is difficult to find or if you plan on camping here, the main park entrance is on Palm Avenue which you can find on Carpinteria Avenue south of Linden. North of Linden Ave is Carpinteria City Beach where the wide sandy beach continues in front of beachfront homes. Due to tar seeps in the ocean offshore from the state park, tar balls can be found on the beach. Bring some olive oil or another natural oil to clean the tar off your feet at the end of your beach walk.
Seashells from Jeffrey's Bay
Jeffreys Bay is named after the senior partner of the firm Jeffrey & Glendinnings that opened a store in 1849 on the location where the town is today. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Jeffreys Bay was known as a hippie hangout, where the now-burgeoning surf community originated. Jeffreys Bay has grown from a sleepy little fishing town over the past few years and is one of the fastest expanding urban areas in the country. wiki
