After Hours AM with GHOSTS OF SHEPHERDSTOWN'S own ELIZABETH SAINT & BILL HARTLEY
Source:
On this ghostly episode of After Hours AM/America's Most Haunted Radio — with hosts Joel Sturgis and Eric Olsen — we welcome Elizabeth Saint and Bill Hartley, co-stars of Nick Groff's new paranormal series on Destination America, Ghosts of Shepherdstown, to talk about the eerie town and why it deserves its own paranormal investigation series. Elizabeth and Bill will join us hour 2. In hour 1, Joel and Eric will dive into the week's hot paranormal news, and Kirsten Klang will read your real ghost stories.
In Destination America's all-new series Ghosts of Shepherdstown, cameras follow paranormal superstar Nick Groff; Bill Hartley, paranormal tech guru; and Elizabeth Saint, a paranormal sensitive, use their many and various skills to help residents restore peace to their homes and find out why Shepherdstown is such a hotbed for hauntings. In the first episode, premiering Sunday June 12 at 10/9c, Nick, Elizabeth, and Bill begin their investigation into the flood of paranormal activity in Shepherdstown, WV as they respond to their first case: a mysterious haunting at the local bakery. The terrified night-shift baker reports sightings of a figure in a gray Civil War uniform and strange objects falling past the window outside. With the help of a local historian and a gifted psychic, the team uncovers shocking details of the building's role in the bloodiest battle in American history.
Ghosts of Shepherdstown
Called the most haunted town in America, Shepherdstown, W.Va., is known as much for its ghostly residents as it is for the local arts scene, university, and historic attractions. In a community of 1,750 people, almost everyone has experienced something they couldn't explain. Shepherdstown's five-man police department has been overwhelmed with 911 calls where the disturbances are paranormal, not criminal. This surge of supernatural activity has forced Sgt. Michael King, now Chief of Police, to enlist the aid of top-notch paranormal investigators to uncover the truth about objects that seem to vanish into thin air, disembodied voices, and faceless figures lurking in the shadows.
Shepherdstown, the oldest town in West Virginia, is home to hauntings, bizarre accidents and unsolved crimes. Each episode of Ghosts of Shepheredstown begins with a 911 call from a panicked and frightened resident experiencing unexplainable activity, such as the appearance of a body floating down the Potomac River, a sighting of a headless woman, or a piano playing on its own. After getting a call from Chief King alerting them to the incident, Nick, Bill and Elizabeth head to the scene and complete a full sweep for evidence of ghostly activity, ruling out non-paranormal explanations as they proceed. Once they gather leads, they enlist the help of local historians and psychics to help them in their quest for answers. Along the way, they track and compare clues to determine if there is a trend in these supernatural experiences that could explain the recent awakening of Shepherdstown's spirits.

Elizabeth Saint is a renowned paranormal sensitive. The manifestations she first experienced as a child led her to pursue a life dedicated to explaining the unexplainable. Being struck by lightning on two separate occasions sparked Saint's interest in the natural phenomena of electricity. While completing her B.S in Electrical Engineering, she worked as an Engineer Technician for the Department of Defense. During this time she also deepened her understanding as a sensitive by working with Maryland Paranormal Research as a Technician and Senior Investigator. Presently, Saint is exploring her new home state of Colorado and conducting solo investigations at commercial and residential locations along the Front Range. On the McClellan Go Round- George McClellan and the Antietam Campaign (Lecture)
George Brinton McClellan- one of the Civil War's most controversial and disliked generals- has been the subject of scorn and derision for decades. Frequently near or at the top of worst generals lists, historians typically use words such as coward, traitor, or foolish to describe this former commander of the Army of the Potomac. But is the story we all seem to know so well correct? Does George McClellan deserve the reputation he has today? Join Ranger Dan Vermilya for a look at McClellan's actions in the pivotal Antietam Campaign, the most important of McClellan's military career, to see why when it comes to the Young Napoleon history tends to be ruled by perceptions and not realities.
The Thin Light of Freedom: The Civil War and Emancipation in the Heart of America
While a destructive and bloody war raged across Virginia in the aftermath of Gettysburg, free black families sent husbands and sons to fight with the U.S. Colored Troops. In letters home, even as Lincoln commemorated the dead at Gettysburg, they spoke of a war for emancipation. In The Thin Line of Freedom, acclaimed historian Edward L. Ayers, discusses the end of slavery, Reconstruction, the Freedmen’s Bureau, and new society struggling to emerge. A book signing will follow the program.

USA: ISRAELI/SYRIAN TALKS - CLINTON ASKS FOR PRAYERS
English/Nat
U-S President Bill Clinton is looking for some divine intervention when it comes to peace in the Middle East.
On Monday in Washington, Clinton asked for prayers for the Syrian-Israeli peace efforts.
The talks in West Virginia appear to be wrapping up without an agreement.
As negotiations between Israel and Syria appear to be drawing to an inconclusive recess, Clinton is calling for prayer.
Speaking at a White House observance of the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, Clinton spoke hopefully of Mideast peace.
But acknowledged that the path to regional peace is fraught with tension.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
I ask especially for your prayers for the current mission of peace in the Middle East. We are on a track in which the Israelis, Syrians, I hope soon the Lebanese, and already the Palestinians, have committed themselves to work through these very difficult, longstanding issues. Over the course of the next two months, a longstanding commitment between the Palestinians and the Israelis to resolve their business, by next month. So this will be a time of great tension where all people will have to search for wisdom and understanding, where there will be great reluctance to open the closed fist and walk out into a new era. I think that the prayers of Muslims, Jews, Christians and people of good will all over the world will be needed for us to get through these next several weeks.
SUPER CAPTION: Bill Clinton, U.S. President
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa are expected to leave the U-S on Monday.
It isn't clear whether the four working groups of experts handling the technical negotiations will stay behind in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Though the two sides have not reached an agreement, the stage seems set for a resumption of the talks in the U-S in about two weeks.

Larry Battson (Larry the Animal Guy) audio interview– Bigfoot, Wildlife Educational Services
Mr. Battson's books:
Larry Battson (Larry the Animal Guy) in a wildlife educator, illustrator, lecturer and founder of Wildlife Educational Services, Inc (WES), an organization, according to Battson’s website, “dedicated to using wild animals that have been rescued to educate all ages across the country.” Born in Indianapolis, Battson formed WES in 1979; in addition to WES, according to his website, Battson worked for Wild Kingdom, a television show that “[guides] viewers through close encounters with wildlife and wilderness,” and Animal Planet for promotional materials. Battson, over his career, illustrated two children’s books, Baxter the Edugator and Baxter the Edugator’s Alphabet Swamp, both of which written by his wife, and lectured on Bigfoot.
In this 2010 interview, entitled “Larry Battson speaks at the Sc3,” with Emily Jenkins of the National Conservation Training Center, Battson discusses why he “speaks” about Bigfoot, how children have “more of an open mind” towards Bigfoot, and how children, in the future, may have an “experience” with Bigfoot and remember “[that] night in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.”

Thy Will Be Done - Chapter 12b From The Civil War by Jim Surkamp
Thy Will Be Done - Chapter 12a from the Civil War by Jim Surkamp TRT: 26:54
More at:
By 4 PM, McClellan chose to agree with Gen. Sumner, calling off any offensive on the main battlefield and decided to not attack Lee with his thousands of fresh bluecoats, leaving Lee able to fight another day.
Federal Genls. George Greene, who captured the Dunker plateau earlier in that day, and the wounded Joe Hooker, whose men fought all morning, both volcanically cursed at this premature quitting.
Musing on McClellan’s wayward thought processes to not take action, Lee’s chief of artillery, Edwin Porter Alexander, later wrote:
For Common Sense was just shouting, “Your adversary is back against a river, with no bridge & only one ford, & that the worst one on the whole river. If you whip him now, you destroy him utterly, root and branch and bag and baggage. Not twice in a life time does such a chance come to any general. Lee for once has made a mistake, and given you a chance to ruin him if you can break his lines, and such game is worth great risks. Every man must fight and keep on fighting for all he is worth.
