Mall Meandering (Ep. 86): A Walk Down Memory Lane at the Sherman Oaks Galleria
Checking out the present Sherman Oaks Galleria and also reliving it's former past through 3 80s films: Valley Girl, Fast Times at Ridgemount High, and Chopping Mall.
Bit more info from Wiki:
The three-level mall was built on the site of Moses Sherman's original 1911 thousand-acre investment in the area, at the present-day intersection of Ventura and Sepulveda boulevards.[5] It opened in 1980 with two department stores (Robinsons anchored the south, May Company anchored the north).[6] Pacific Theatres' Pacific 4 occupied the uppermost level of the mall.[6] The mall became famous in the early 1980s as being the center of the teenage mall culture and a well-known teenage hangout.[7] The Galleria and nearby malls formed the basis of the Frank Zappa/Moon Unit Zappa 1982 satirical single Valley Girl from Zappa's album Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch.[8][9][10] Following on the popularity of the song, the TV show Real People hosted an Ultimate Valley Girl competition (referred to as a nightmare by contest judge Moon Zappa), at the Galleria.[11] In 1993, Robinsons and May Company merged, forming Robinsons-May - both stores in the mall were converted to Robinsons-May, the north store becoming a Men's and Home store, and the south store becoming a Women's and Children's store.[6][12]
The next decade saw business at the Galleria decline. In January 1994, the mall closed for 11 days for repairs following the Northridge earthquake.[13][14] Although the mall reopened quickly, Robinson-May didn't re-open its south wing store for four years following the earthquake, and many smaller stores on that floor closed.[15] During that closure, the mall suffered due to having only one main anchor store. Mall management sued to evict Robinson-May in 1998, alleging that the delay was a lease violation and caused the store closures, but R-M countersued, claiming that poor mall promotion and management were the cause.[15] Closures continued through the 1990s until a gift and jewelry shop was one of the few remaining stores in 1999.[7]
The mall closed in April 1999 for a major renovation[7] and reopened in 2002 as an open-air center which was quite different from its previous incarnation.[16] The new layout was termed mixed-use.[17] The only remnant of the original mall is the court where the Pacific 16 Theatres is located, which are on the uppermost of what was previously the southern Robinsons-May store. The majority of the remaining mall was turned into offices.[18] Warner Brothers set up offices[1] in what was once one of the mall entrances. Several mortgage companies and financial services providers are headquartered within the mall. Additional tenants include several major restaurant chains. The remodeling and new construction was done by Peck/Jones Construction, which in 2005 filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy.[19][20]
On Monday, June 4, 2007 the Pacific Galleria 16 Theaters changed into an ArcLight Cinema, as the Pacific Theaters own the ArcLight brand.[21] The transformation began gradually, with re-branding at the start, and renovation throughout the summer of 2007. The theater was closed for three months to complete the process.[21]

Dashcam Tours ????: Driving on Ventura Blvd in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, USA
Here is a song about San Fernando Valley:
Running 18 miles, Ventura Boulevard is the world's longest avenue of contiguous businesses. The Boulevard begins near Calabasas in Woodland Hillsat an intersection with Valley Circle Boulevard, passes through Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, and finally in Studio City (where it intersects with Barham Boulevard) it becomes Cahuenga Boulevard, which then winds through Cahuenga Pass into Hollywood.
It has always been the most concentrated location for mom and pop shops and small businesses in the Valley; nowadays it has pockets of housing, mini-malls, and shops, along with a wide assortment of businesses, schools, and other establishments. Homes south of Ventura are considered to be among the most expensive in Los Angeles County, ranging from $2 million to $50 million and home to numerous celebrities, executives, athletes, and entertainers alike.
Ventura Boulevard is one of the primary east–west thoroughfares in the San Fernando Valley, California, United States. Ventura Boulevard is one of the oldest routes in the San Fernando Valley as it was originally a part of the El Camino Real (the trail between Spanish missions). It was also U.S. Route 101 before the freeway (which it is parallel to for much of Ventura Boulevard's length)
Music
The Everly Brothers recorded a song called Ventura Boulevard on their 1968 album Roots. Ventura Boulevard is mentioned in Tom Petty's song Free Fallin' (All the vampires walkin' through the valley, Move west down Ventura Boulevard...). The Boulevard is also mentioned in Frank Zappa's Valley Girl (On Ventura, there she goes, she just bought some bitchin' clothes) a song about a valley girl(voiced by his daughter Moon Zappa) who lives in Encino and participates in typical Valley Girl activities such as shopping at The Galleria, not wanting to do the dishes, and getting her toenails professionally pedicured.
Guitarist John 5 made a song entitled 18969 Ventura Blvd.
Ventura Boulevard was also the name of a band from Delhi, India.
In the documentary Living with Michael Jackson, it is revealed that Michael Jackson wrote the song Billie Jean while riding down Ventura Boulevard in his car.
Haim's music video Want You Back is filmed on Ventura Boulevard.
Film
The boulevard is a prominent location in the movie The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Much of the films Crash and Transformers were filmed on the boulevard.
Television
In the Seinfeld episode The Trip, Part 2, Jerry and George were said to be calling from a pay phone on Ventura Boulevard. In reality, the pay phone shown was on Ventura Place, about one block away.
In the Treehouse of Horror VI episode of The Simpsons, Ventura Boulevard features as the location of the show's first ever live-action scene.
Steve Allen, who lived in Encino, famously joked that The Valley is the hippest part of town. They even named a boulevard after Charlie Ventura, referring to the renowned jazz saxophonist.
Video games
Video game developer Infinity Ward, which developed most of the games in the Call of Duty series, has its headquarters on Ventura Boulevard. The studios can be seen at 15821 Ventura Boulevard, Encino.
Neighborhoods within Ventura Blvd include:
Studio City
Sherman Oaks
Encino
Tarzana
Woodland Hills
Here's an old song about San Fernando Valley, which we are driving through in this video:

Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles Bike Ride to the Hardware Store
Vlog #12: First bike ride video in LA. Biking within Sherman Oaks in the San Fernando Valley of LA. I started at the end of Chandler Blvd and rode onto Van Nuys Blvd, both of which have bike lanes. I turned onto Hatteras St, a neighborhood street with speed bumps and few cars. Then I got a bit lost because there was no entrance to the back of the hardware store. I had to go around back onto Oxnard St to get into the main entrance of the Ace Hardware of Van Nuys.
I could've continued onto Sepulveda Blvd for a second, and going back I did go through the parking lots to make it back to Hatteras St. The video going the reverse direction coming soon.
This was filmed on a winter afternoon in December.

L.A.P.D. Police Training Drill at the Sherman Oaks Galleria part 1
February 19 2019
This is how the matrix started here in Los Angeles California nothing but fear based lies, propaganda and Hollywood stunts sucking you in to believe in the lies!
Oh mi God I was walking out of the 24 hour fitness gym and an employee standing at the exit told me no one leaves the gym. The door was locked and I asked why. She said someone tried to steal an automobile. I laughed, said that is ridiculous and stated unless there are Police officers at the gym entrance it is unlawful to keep the doors locked as it is not safe. I also stated the person you stated stole an automobile is not going to come back with an automatic hand gun and shot gym members.
