Shiba Park Hotel is located in the heart of Tokyo. This Tokyo hotel has great access to 4 major train and subway stations, and is close to Tokyo's major sightseeing spots as well as the business districts.
The famous Tokyo Tower and the beautiful temple (Zojoji) are just a few steps away. There is a Michelin star French restaurant in this hotel for your inhouse dining, but if you love to eat out, there are hundreds of little great restaurants around this hotel in Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Shiba Park is located around Tokyo Tower and Zojoji Temple in the Roppongi area of the city. The park is actually divided into a various separate areas.
Shiba Park has a number of lawns which are popular at lunchtimes with young mothers and children. There are exercise machines that draw salarymen out of their offices for work-outs, and joggers run the perimeter.

Kyu Shiba Rikyu Gardens, Minato Ward, Tokyo Metropolis
Kyu-Shiba-Rikyu Garden is located in Minato ward of the Tokyo Metropolis. It is an excellent representation of the Edo period landscape/garden architecture. It also provides the Tokyo residents an great place to wind down after a hard day's work or on a weekend. This land was actually part of the sea until the 1600s and was reclaimed to be part of the garden and the Tokyo City itself. Enjoy!!!

☆Bits of knowledge〜Jizou〜
Zojo-ji Temple sits just under the Tokyo Tower and this contrast of old and new is impressive. But for me, the most beautiful, saddest and unique part of the temple is the rows and rows of clothed and decorated jizo statues, situated to the right of the main temple building.

Japan Trip 2013 Tokyo Tower Mita-dori Shiba Minato-ku Night view t06
Tokyo Tower
Tokyo Tower (東京タワー Tōkyō tawā?) is a communications and observation tower located in Shiba Park, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. At 333 metres (1,093 ft), it is the second-tallest artificial structure in Japan. The structure is an Eiffel Tower-inspired lattice tower that is painted white and international orange to comply with air safety regulations.
Built in 1958, the tower's main sources of revenue are tourism and antenna leasing. Over 150 million people have visited the tower since its opening. FootTown, a four-storey building located directly under the tower, houses museums, restaurants and shops. Departing from there, guests can visit two observation decks. The two-storey Main Observatory is located at 150 metres (490 ft), while the smaller Special Observatory reaches a height of 250 metres (820 ft).
The tower acts as a support structure for an antenna. Originally intended for television broadcasting, radio antennas were installed in 1961, but the tower is now used to broadcast signals for Japanese media outlets such as NHK, TBS and Fuji TV. Japan's planned digital television transition by July 2011 was problematic, however; Tokyo Tower's height (333 meters) was not high enough to adequately support complete terrestrial digital broadcasting to the area. A taller digital broadcasting tower, known as Tokyo Skytree, was completed on February 29, 2012.

Jujutsu
Jujutsu (/dʒuːˈdʒʌtsuː/; Japanese: 柔術, jūjutsu listen (help·info), Japanese pronunciation: [ˈdʑɯɯ.dʑɯ.tsɯ]) is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon or only a short weapon.[1][2] The word jujutsu can be spelled as jujitsu, ju-jutsu or ju-jitsu.
Jū can be translated to mean gentle, soft, supple, flexible, pliable, or yielding. Jutsu can be translated to mean art or technique and represents manipulating the opponent's force against himself rather than confronting it with one's own force.[1] Jujutsu developed among the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon, or only a short weapon.[3] Because striking against an armored opponent proved ineffective, practitioners learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker's energy against him, rather than directly opposing it.[4]
There are many variations of the art, which leads to a diversity of approaches. Jujutsu schools (ryū) may utilize all forms of grappling techniques to some degree (i.e. throwing, trapping, joint locks, holds, gouging, biting, disengagements, striking, and kicking). In addition to jujutsu, many schools teach the use of weapons.
Today, jujutsu is practiced in both traditional and modern sport forms. Derived sport forms include the Olympic sport and martial art of judo, which was developed by Kanō Jigorō in the late 19th century from several traditional styles of jujutsu, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which was in turn derived from earlier (pre--World War II) versions of Kodokan judo.
