JR Shizuoka Station (JR 静岡駅), Shizuoka Prefecture
Shizuoka Prefecture (静岡県) is located in southeast of Japan. It is located on the Tokaido Sanyo Railway line and is serviced by both local JR lines and the Shinkansen (Bullet Train). Although not all bullet trains stop here, most do. JR Shizuoka Station (JR 静岡駅) services both the regular JR lines and the bullet trains.
Shizuoka city is where Tokugawa Ieyasu was born. Tokugawa Ieyasu was the greatest Samurai in Japanese history and had the title of Shogun. This official title shogun (supreme commander of the feudal government) was given to him by the emperor at that time.
In 1605, Tokugawa Ieyasu handed over the position of shogun to his third son Hidetada and retired to Sumpu Castle located in his childhood home in Shizuoka City.
Shizuoka city is also known as the stopping and starting place for many trekkers to the Mt. Fuji. You can see great views of Mt. Fuji (富士山) on the way to Shizuoka city from Tokyo.

JAPAN TRAIN VIDEOS - JR Higashi-Shizuoka Station - Lost Japan
Have you ever wondered what it's like to explore a train station in Japan? This video, from my new LOST JAPAN series, chronicles a half-hour tour of Higashi (East) Shizuoka station, which is the newest, and second-largest train station in Shizuoka City, Japan. I visited this station early in the morning in order to make this video when I could avoid the crowds, and enjoy the lovely light of dawn. We begin the video on ground-level, just outside the south entrance to the station. The sounds you are hear are very common at all Japanese train stations, which are an auditory delight of bells, whistles, chimes and pleasant announcements (usually in a soft, female voice) over the loudspeaker. After we ride the escalator up to the station, we'll walks about, enjoy a view of Mt. Fuji, and then linger to watch Bullet Trains (Shinkansen) race by below. My favorite part of the tour was observing the young policeman patrolling the bicycle racks while looking for unregistered bikes.

JAPAN | SHIZUOKA - DREAM SUSPENSION BRIDGE (夢の吊り橋) & STEAM TRAINS
Hi guys! Moira here ????
before everything else, click CC for English subtitles :)
I AM SO EXCITED TO SHOW YOU GUYS WHAT WE DID IN SHIZUOKA!
Our very first time to ride a steam train and went hiking to the
famous suspension bridge located in Shizuoka, Japan.
We rode a 40 minutes Shinkansen (bullet train) ride from Shin-Yokohama to Shizuoka and transferred to a local train to Kanaya then to Shin- Kanaya to ride a steam train going to Senzu.
From Senzu, we rode the cog train, THE ONLY cog train in Japan.
It was fun going away from the city noises and enjoying the calm and fresh breeze of nature.

Bullet Train Ride | Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen Passenger View (Shizuoka to Tokyo, Japan) | OmniHour
Please sit back, relax, and enjoy the passenger view and ambience sounds of a high speed Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen Bullet Train Ride from Shizuoka to Tokyo in Japan. This 1 Hour 4K video was filmed in real time.
Disclaimer: Some parts, like the individual train station stops, have been shortened / cut in this video (to fit the 1 hour mark). For those who are interested; the whole ride took approximately, 1 hour and 9 minutes including stops.
The Youtube compressor seems to struggle with the high speeds at points, our apologizes!
The Shinkansen (Japanese: 新幹線, pronounced [ɕiŋkaꜜɰ̃seɴ], lit. 'new trunk line'), colloquially known in English as the bullet train, is a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan. Initially, it was built to connect distant Japanese regions with Tokyo, the capital, in order to aid economic growth and development. Beyond long-distance travel, some sections around the largest metropolitan areas are used as a commuter rail network. It is operated by five Japan Railways Group companies.
The N700 series (N700系 Enu nanahyaku-kei) is a Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train with tilting capability developed jointly by JR Central and JR-West for use on the Tokaido and San'yō Shinkansen lines since 2007, and also operated by JR Kyushu on the Kyushu Shinkansen line.
N700 series trains have a maximum speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), and tilting of up to one degree allows the trains to maintain 270 km/h (168 mph) even on 2,500 m (8,200 ft) radius curves that previously had a maximum speed of 255 km/h (158 mph). Another feature of the N700 is that it accelerates quicker than the older 700 series Shinkansen trains, with a maximum acceleration rate of 2.6 km/h/s. This enables it to reach 270 km/h (170 mph) in only three minutes. Further advancements led to the development of the N700A, an incremental evolution of the N700. N700A trains can reach 285 km/h on 3,000 m curves, allowing the maximum operating speed on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen to be raised to 285 km/h. All N700 series sets have been retrofitted with most of the improvements added to the N700A series, and are now classified as N700A.
Because of these improvements, trains can travel between Tokyo and Osaka on a Nozomi run in as little as 2 hours and 22 minutes on the fastest service (8 minutes faster than before).
Currently, a second revision to the N700 series, the N700S, is undergoing testing and evaluation, with plans to begin replacing all other models from 2020.
