'The Future is still unwritten' is a rap project started in 2013 by Daisy Chain from Thessaloniki, Kronstadt from Barcelona and Refpolk from Berlin. It is a statement of resistance beyond national borders in times of crisis and an alleged lack of alternatives. Three gigs in three languages of people coming from different backgrounds, who share their belief in a world free from capitalism and oppression. The tour starts in Germany in February and continues in Spain and Greece in March.
Daisy Chain, Kronstadt and Refpolk are supported by Miss Zebra (Athen) and DJ KaiKani (Berlin).

Art installation created for anniversary of fall of Berlin Wall
To mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, American artist Patrick Shearn created an installation called Visions in Motion. It's 150-meters-long and composed of 100,000 streamers, on which residents of Germany have written 30,000 messages, many of love and peace. The artwork will float like a multicolored wave in front of the Brandenburg Gate.

Chat with Charles - Silver Pandas in Berlin ✔
I was lucky to catch up with Charles Morgan on the phone on his last full day in Berlin. We chatted about Meng Meng and Jiao Qing, the Pandas that have joined the Berlin Zoo and what an important historical event it was for China and Germany.
We went over the First Strike ceremony held at the Staatliche Münze Berlin (last Friday) and talked about the variety of medals produced to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of Chinese and German diplomatic relations.
Check out my behind the scenes First Strike Video!

The future of fashion at Berlin Fashion Week
(18 Jan 2017)

LED dresses and shirts that communicate with apps are just some of the items at the Fashion Tech show in Berlin.
There's even an outfit that monitors your mood and turns your collar into a cocoon when stressed.
The show is part of Berlin Fashion Week and highlights technological advances in the fashion world.
STORY-LINE:
This little robot is welcoming visitors to the 'Berlin Fashiontech' show, a satellite event at Berlin Fashion Week.
The Fashiontech event has been running since 2015, and it highlights the latest, best and wackiest in fashion technology.
One of the highlights this year is a futuristic collar called 'Exaltation' by Belgian designer Jasna Rok.
The design itself is innovative, it looks like something from a science fiction film.
But it is the small motors that move the collar and the connection to a brain reading EEG (Electroencephalography) sensor that make it truly futuristic.
The EEG sensor communicates with the collar, which changes form depending on the mood of the person wearing it.
Rok explains:
The collar is reacting depending on how comfortable he is feeling. So for instance if you feel uncomfortable because I'm coming too close to you, or because you get too much images, you are stressing, the collar goes up to form a cocoon around you.
A number of clothes at the show have been fitted with LED lights.
One of them is an elegant white dress by Slovenian designer Anja Dragan.
The dress was designed as an evening gown, perfect for parties in the dark.
A battery pack has been fitted at the back of the dress, it can stay lit for several hours according to Imanol Gomez who came up with the technical design of the dress.
Basically there are over 300 LEDs embroidered in to the fabric, he says.
And all of these LEDs have a small chip that you can programme to have a different kind of visualisation. You just plug it in with a battery pack and that's how they can all have different kind of visuals.
The clothes from design company Moon Berlin are also putting on a show of their own.
The shirts from the company have been designed with a pattern. An app by the company recognises the patterns so when a smartphone is pointed at the clothes an augmented reality graphic appears.
Different patterns generate different types of graphics.
We created a software and the main idea is to bring an app to the market which enables people to communicate on a whole new level, says Sebastian Nissl, one of the designers at Moon Berlin.
Dutch designer Anouk Wipprecht is showing a futuristic dress inspired and commissioned by Audi cars.
The dress has a sensor in it which measures distance.
When something gets too close the headlights on the dress go on.
American design company Wisewear is showing its smart bracelets.
The bracelets essentially work as a regular fitness tracker. They can measure body heat, pulse and distance moved.
But instead of being made out of plastic, the Wisewear bracelets come in 18-carat gold or silver.
The bracelets also have a safety function. When they are tapped twice they send an emergency message with GPS coordinates to a designated contact.
The Wisewear bracelets are already on the market. The gold version costs 345 US dollars and the silver version 295 US dollars.
Anita Tillmann, Managing partner of fashion company Premium Group which organises the Fashiontech show, says that the fashion world has been slow to embrace technology but that it is changing quickly.
Because as long as it is simple and useful people and human beings use techniques and they use the future. So this is a normal way of evolution, she says.
But it might not just be the clothes that change but also the way we buy them.

Germany: Maas welcomes Latin and Caribbean counterparts at Berlin conference
Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas hosted 29 Latin America and Caribbean foreign ministers at the 'Latin America/Caribbean initiative conference' in Berlin on Tuesday.
We need allies, said the German foreign minister who added no one region can act as a 'superpower' in navigating the pressing global issues such as climate change, digitalisation or migration.
Some 1,000 participants followed the conference with several panel discussions on economic partnership, strong perspectives and women's rights.
Unidas, a new women's network supported by the German Foreign Ministry, was also founded at the conference.
Aimed at strengthening Germany’s alliance and economic ties with the region and serving to deepen their partnership, the initiative was introduced in February by Maas.
