Silver Glen Springs is just another one of Florida's hidden gems! This freshwater spring holds hundreds of fish, if not thousands, of a wide variety of species. Snorkeling in its crystal clear waters, I saw a countless number of ladyfish, tilapia, striped bass, and a lot more. This was an unforgettable experience!

The water is crystal clear! There's tons of fish! It's like snorkeling in a fish tank! I had so much fun in Salt Springs, Florida that I'm already planning a trip back. It's family friendly. The water is 71 degrees year round because it comes out of the ground. There was a large shady picnicking area with grills. Hiking trails... There is a fee though... I think I paid $5 for the day and I was by myself.
Cave Freediving Swimthrough at Silver Glen Springs
This is the first time video has been shot freediving between the main spring vents at Silver Glen Springs. This also may be the first time anyone has ever gone through this cave / cavern passage freediving. I scouted this area for months before my first attempt and even moved some big rocks to make it easier to fit through.

Alexander Springs and Salt Springs in Central Florida
RV life and adventures with The Phoenix Ramblers : RV life and adventures with The Phoenix Ramblers : The springs are located in Marion County in central Florida. Alexander Springs has a campground however its basically dry camping for $21 a night. If that is what you like this is the campground for you. Salt Springs has 2 sections. One side is full hookup RV sites $31 a night and $19 if you are 62 yes or older and the other side is tent sites at $20 a night with NO water or electricity. These springs are managed by a private company ( American Land and Leisure, Inc. ) and NOT the US Forest.

Hi guys! This time my mom and I go back to Silver Glen Springs in the Ocala National forest to do some stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling and free diving in the 72 degree year round spring water. We both swam with manatees ( a fear of mine ) they can get up to like 500 pounds, and saw lots of different species of fish. We also swam into a natural spring well! As the sun shines, rainbows play across the bottom of the crystal-clear spring basin at Silver Glen Springs. This beautiful spot along the edge of the Big Scrub offers a spring run that pours out into Lake George, the largest of the St. Johns River Chain of Lakes.

Silver Glen Springs Info
Silver Glen Springs is located near Lake George on Highway 19, six miles north of SR 40 in Ocala National Forest. Activities include boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming and snorkeling. Camping is not permitted. (But read here for a list of Ocala National Forest Campgrounds.) The park is open daily 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with canoe rentals available on site from $16 to $38 (full day). Free kayak launching. Day use fee is $5.50 per person. Snorkeling, but not SCUBA, is permitted.
A single annual pass ($60 per person) gets you into several Ocala National Forest recreation areas, including Juniper Springs, Salt Springs, Clearwater Lake, Wildcat Lake, Alexander Springs and Silver Glen Springs. For information, call 352-236-0288
