Stavanger Drone Flight: Stavanger is a city and municipality in Norway. It is the third largest city and metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighbouring Sandnes) and the administrative centre of Rogaland county. The municipality is the fourth most populous in Norway. Located on the Stavanger Peninsula in Southwest Norway, Stavanger counts its official founding year as 1125, the year the Stavanger Cathedral was completed. Stavangers core is to a large degree 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses that are protected and considered part of the citys cultural heritage. This has caused the town centre and inner city to retain a small-town character with an unusually high ratio of detached houses, and has contributed significantly to spreading the citys population growth to outlying parts of Greater Stavanger. The citys rapid population growth in the late 20th century was primarily a result of Norways booming offshore oil industry. Today the oil industry is a key industry in the Stavanger region and the city is widely referred to as the Oil Capital of Norway. The largest company in the Nordic region, Norwegian energy company Statoil is headquartered in Stavanger. Multiple educational institutions for higher education are located in Stavanger. The largest of these is the University of Stavanger. // Stavanger is a city in southwestern Norway. In the center of town, Stavanger Cathedral dates back to the citys 12th-century founding. Stavanger Museum chronicles the citys history and displays preserved wildlife. The Norwegian Petroleum Museum illuminates the oil industry with submersibles, a large drill bit and an escape chute. The shopping street Øvre Holmegate is known for its colorful houses. [wikipedia // Google]

Welcome to Stavanger,Norway,Day 3 (part1)
With about 120,000 people, Stavanger is Norway's fourth-largest city and a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history stretches back deep into the Middle Ages. Stavanger was once a tranquil coastal market town and then later an important fishing port. But it was the 1969 discovery of oil offshore that forever changed the now bustling city's fortunes and landscape....

Rogaland 2012: Old Stavanger
Something every visitor to Stavanger needs to do is to take a stroll through the part of town known as Gamle Stavanger, Old Stavanger. It's an incredibly idyllic area with lots of little old wooden houses from the 18th and early 19th centuries. It's so adorable ... ! :-) The area also has an interesting history which you can read more about here:
I think it's especially fascinating to think about how close this part of town came to being totally demolished at one point, and how only one person saved it. :-)

LYSEBOTN NORWAY TRAVEL TOURS
Hi everyone this is My life in Norway Karlsson vlogs . Im just sharing my lysebotn travel . Lysebotn is a village in Forsand municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the eastern end of the Lysefjorden in a very isolated valley that is only accessible by one road or by boat. The name itself means the bottom the Lysefjorden. It's a destination for over 100,000 tourists annually, and it is an access point for the Kjerag mountain, a popular Base Jumping spot. There are cruises and an express boat to Lysebotn from Skagenkaien in the city of Stavanger, Lauvvik in Sandnes and the village of Forsand. All of which pass beneath the famous Preikestolen cliff on the way to Lysebotn. I have some clips of our drone camera . And you can see the beautiful lysebotn is .
