Skissernas Museum – Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art

Arkitekterna Jonas Elding (f 1972 i Lund) och Johan Oscarson (f 1974 i Kristianstad) tog sin examen på Arkitektskolan i Lund i slutet av 90-talet. Efter anställningar i Japan respektive Sverige öppnade de gemensamt kontor i Stockholm 2007. Idag arbetar de med såväl inhemska som internationella projekt, och deras verksamhet sträcker sig från publika byggnader till privata villor och inredning. Flera av projekten har blivit prisbelönta och internationellt uppmärksammade.

Q&A with the director of A Million Rivers- Sarah Singh

On Thursday 14 September at 19.00 director Sarah Singh came to Skissernas Museum (Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art) in Lund to screen A Million Rivers.

A Million Rivers - a contemporary black and white surrealist film work exploring Bertolt Brecht’s ‘alienation effect’ and the notion of expanded cinema. Radically re-inventing the geo-political narrative through themes of fragmentation, identity, loss, fantasy, secrecy, and desire award-winning director Sarah Singh continues to delve deeper into the South Asian contemporary story. Starring the late legendary internationally renowned actor Om Puri - in one of his last films. Also starring acclaimed film and theatre actress Lillete Dubey.

The movie screening was followed by a Q&A and director's talk. The event was jointly organised by SASNET and Skissernas Museum.

Sivert Lindblom is a sculptor with strong links to architecture. Early on in his career, Lindblom was influenced by Auguste Rodin. During the 1960s he went on to develop a unique and timeless visual language with links to both classicism and the present. He willingly demystifies the artistic process and lets the material he works with lead him to the desired result.

An interest in architecture is evident in everything Sivert Lindblom does. His first job was with the noted Swedish architect Sigurd Lewerentz in his home town Eskilstuna. Later on, after his studies at the Art Academy in Stockholm, he began a long-lasting and close collaboration with the architect Peter Celsing.

There are many public art works by Sivert Lindblom around Sweden. The ambition has always been to create communal spaces which enable positive encounters between people.

The exhibition here at Vandalorum was designed by Sivert Lindblom himself. He sees the exhibition as an artistic expression in itself, where the works interact with both the room and the audience.
