SCARBOROUGH | Sightseeing in Scarborough, England ????????????
SCARBOROUGH | Sightseeing in Scarborough, England ????????????
Afternoon open top bus ride along Scarborough seafront, taking in all the sights such as Scarborough beach, The Grand Hotel, Scarborough Castle, the lighthouse, the harbour where you can see the boats, and more.
Scarborough is a resort town on England’s North Sea coast. Its 2 bays with sandy beaches are split by a headland bearing the 12th-century Scarborough Castle. The Victorian Central Tramway funicular train links the town centre with South Bay and its harbour. The Rotunda Museum explores local coastal geology. Scarborough SEA LIFE Sanctuary’s marine displays and the Peasholm Park Japanese gardens are behind North Bay.
From the rugged rocky headland and colourful seaside traditions of the South Bay, to the bright beach huts of the award-winning sandy North Bay, Scarborough has all the ingredients you need for a classic beachside break.
Scarborough is the original seaside resort; stunning scenery, glorious beaches, loads to see and do – is it any wonder that people have been flocking to Scarborough for nearly 400 years now?
You can still immerse yourself in Scarborough's history with Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum of geology. You could venture down to the seafront to enjoy the traditional amusement arcades, ice cream parlours, shellfish stalls and beach huts.
Outdoor adventures can be found in numbers: try boating in Peasholm Park; take a ride on the miniature railway; be daring on the Sky Trail Adventure bridge and beam course; splash about at the world class Alpamare Waterpark and make friends with the penguins at Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary.
But despite its rich history, Scarborough doesn’t live in the past. The town is constantly innovating to keep its place as one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK.

the town lies between 10–230 feet (3–70 m) above sea level, rising steeply northward and westward from the harbour on to limestone cliffs. The older part of the town lies around the harbour and is protected by a rocky headland.
With a population of just over 61,000, Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. The town has fishing and service industries, including a growing digital and creative economy, as well as being a tourist destination. People who live in the town are known as Scarborians
The most striking feature of the town's geography is the high rocky promontory pointing eastward into the North Sea. The promontory supports the 11th-century ruins of Scarborough Castle and divides the seafront into two bays, north and south.
Scarborough's South Bay from Cliff Street
The South Bay was the site of the original medieval settlement and harbour, which form the old town.
This remains the main tourist area, with a sandy beach, cafés, amusements, arcades, theatres and entertainment facilities.
The modern commercial town centre has migrated 440 yards (400 m) north-west of the harbour area and 100 feet (30 m) above it and contains the transport hubs, main services, shopping and nightlife.
The town of Scarborough was reportedly founded around 966 AD as Skarðaborg by Thorgils Skarthi, a Viking raider, though there is no archaeological evidence to support these claims, made during the 1960s, as part of a pageant of Scarborough events.

SCARBOROUGH WALK | An early Morning walk round Scarborough ????

It would mean a lot and motivate me to keep on creating!
We head off on this morning walk Northwards along the North Bay towards the Grand Hotel
Along the way we pass the harbourside gift shop where you can pick up all kinds of quaint and unique gifts and holiday souvenirs, as well as Mutiny Bar which is a lovely Scarborough pub (where had a fantastic breakfast before filming this Scarborough walk!)
Also on our route is The Anchor fish and chips restaurant which has a real life huge anchor outside on the pavement (a great photo opportunity if you're visiting Scarborough)
A little further down the North Bay we see the King Richard III pub and restaurant where it's believed the King stayed in 1484 whilst on naval duty
As we cross East Sandgate there's the quaintly named Newcastle Packet pub opposite the Princess Cafe where I like to go for a fish and chips lunch where you can enjoy a great view of Scarborough lighthouse and harbour.
Our walk continues past the Lord Nelson pub, the RNLI lifeboat house, Scarborough beach and the Scarborough Terror Tower where you can visit the film sets from the biggest horror movies ever made! (we've always been too scared to go in!)
We pass the former site of the famous Futurist Theatre (the theatre has been knocked down and lost now) and then come onto Scarborough tram and the Grand Hotel where we end our walk
Don't forget to press like on the video, leave a comment and most importantly of all please subscribe to our channel for more great video walks!

BEAMS report page:
Witness statement:
I finished going through the video (first time round) today. Over one
thousand five hundred screenshots and am sure that there are hundreds more different shapes still to extract. Phenomenal!
Below is the report.
I had the Nikon P900 camera (with Manfrotto tripod) on mostly
automatic settings, using the night sky option. Not being an expert, I don't know if I could have improved the camera's settings to achieve the best results.
Camera and settings:
Nikon P900

Shutter speed: 1/15 second

I was mulling over the spectacular form-changing objects filmed on the off-chance on 27 December, late evening between 10.30 and 11.30 p.m above the town, Scarborough, near Seamer road.
The principal object that persisted was one that I found by panning the camera over the night sky. So I could see this in the camera's window and started filming, having then partially extended out the zoom to get a closer view. It appeared to be darting about, rather like the movements made by a moth, but I think this was the tripod's slight movements magnified by the zoom. If it's possible for a continuously form-changing entity to have a characteristic shape, then that would be a cranium viewed from the top, over which draped some sort of membrane with folds creating very dark (black) shadows.
A bright translucent blue coloured shape is invariably juxtaposed with a smaller or drab-shaped form. This object appeared to change its size from any degrees of small to large. Definitely the most extraordinary phenomenon filmed on video all year, which is saying something because there have been some weird entities filmed in and around south bay, Scarborough.
If it looks too good to be true then perhaps it is. It occurred to
me that what I witnessed may perhaps have been a hologram projection into the night sky! I quote the following from a web-published article seen this week:
Article by Dr Kathy J. Forti, entitled “Strange Holograms in the Sky”,
May 6, 2015
Quoted text from this article (free use).
“The U.S. military and NASA have been experimenting with Holographic Projection since 1978 in a program known as Project Blue Beam...Holographic projection, also known as 'strategic perception management,' can turn the whole sky into a one big LCD screen to beam holograms from multiple space-satellites and aerial drones. Ever wonder why the U.S. has over 1,000 active satellites in space? They’re not just for weather and spying. These satellites have the capability of beaming images off each other to create a 360 degree Disneyland movie theater. Outmoded transparent hologram images have been replaced with holograms that can project full sound, light, heat, and everything needed to make it Hollywood believable...Real UFO experiencers report craft that are eerily SILENT. But, who knows, the military might be perfecting this distinction as well.”

The Historical Peasholm Park in Scarborough, Yorkshire
Peasholm Park, voted 6th Best Park in the UK and 25th Best Park in the whole of Europe in the Trip Adviser Traveller's Choice Awards, is situated in Scarborough’s North Bay and is a must-see for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast.
With a rich history and after having recently received a prestigious Green Flag Award, this oriental themed municipal park offers a beautiful system of streams and waterfalls, mini bridges and mystical gardens for the whole family to enjoy.
The park boasts a vast array of wildlife including an abundance of tame grey squirrels, ducks, swans and geese, whilst also being home to several Champion trees – that is, the tallest, widest and best examples of species in the country. With a wealth of arboreal interest at every turn, the trees found within Peasholm Park are not just of importance to Scarborough, or even to the UK; some of them are of interest to the world! In fact, at least one of the park’s trees was previously thought to be extinct; Dickson’s Golden Elm was thought to have died out during the 1970s when Dutch Elm Disease wiped out so many of England’s lovely elms, however, the Glen at Peasholm Park has not just one example of this incredibly rare tree, it actually has two..
Strategically positioned in the middle of the lake, in front of the largest waterfall, sits Peasholm Bandstand, home to the park’s resident organist who performs free afternoon matinees from Monday to Friday during July and August (3pm – 4:30pm). The Bandstand also creates a truly wonderful outdoor venue for the famous Scarborough Spa Orchestra and special guests who host a special firework spectacular concert in the months of June, July and August.
Peasholm Park has a putting green, a café serving both hot and cold food, a refreshments kiosk, toilets, a miniature golf course and the iconic Peasholm Park Island. Once you’ve crossed the bridge, take a walk to the top of the island and discover the hidden oriental gardens, just be careful not to disturb the geese!

Places to see in ( Yorkshire - UK ) Peasholm Park
Places to see in ( Yorkshire - UK ) Peasholm Park
Peasholm Park is an oriental themed municipal park located in the seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1912 and became a favourite venue for galas, displays and exhibitions.
Peasholm Park was extended to include Peasholm Glen, a natural ravine, in 1924. Attractions include an artificial boating lake, where mock naval battles are staged, a putting green and a champion tree walk. The park suffered a decline in popularity from the 1970s as the number of holidaymakers visiting Scarborough decreased but it has recently been restored using Heritage Lottery Funding.
Peasholm Park is sited on the north side of the town of Scarborough in a mainly residential area. The site is about 14-hectares and takes in a narrow steep-sided valley running north-east towards North Bay. The valley gradually broadens until it opens out on to low-lying ground closer to the sea. The south-west tip of the site adjoins a cemetery which was opened in the late 19th century, the north-east boundary of the site is the A165 road, which is here called Columbus Ravine. The boundary on the south and south-east side is Peasholm Drive and the cemetery. On the north side the boundary is Northstead Manor Drive and the west boundary is at roads called Ryndleside and Glenside. There is iron fencing on the perimeter of the park in some places but most of the park boundary is defined just by pavements or grass verges alongside the roads.
The Peasholm Glen Tree Trail has rare and unusual trees. The lottery-funded project there aims to conserve the trees and provides a leafleted trail identifying the most interesting and important species. The leaflet is free and is also available to download from the internet. Together with signage on site, it opens up this resource to the widest possible audience. During restoration of the site the Dicksonian Elm, a tree that was previously believed to be extinct, was discovered alive and well in Peasholm Glen.
The Naval Warfare event, Battle of Peasholm, has been played out for half an hour three times a week during the summer season for over 80 years. The model boats used are mostly man powered earning the fleet the title of The smallest manned navy in the world. All the boats were man powered, until 1929, when electricity was introduced, and now only the larger boats need to be steered by council employees.
( Yorkshire - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Yorkshire . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Yorkshire - UK
