We couldn't get offshore so I headed to the Skyway Bridge Pier in St. Petersburg, FL to do a little afternoon fishing. The Spanish Mackerel were hungry and there were plenty of tarpon lurking.

A timelapse helicopter tour of St. Pete, FL. Shot on a GoPro this video takes you from Albert Whitted Airport in downtown St. Pete over Tropicana Field, to the beaches, past the Don Cesar resort, Passe a Grille, Fort Desoto Park, and the Sunshine Skyway bridge. All on a beautiful sunny day.

Tampa Bay Florida Jetty Fishing
I didn't have a ride offshore and I had to get my fix. I decided to fish a jetty in St Petersburg, Florida next to the fishing pier. I caught a few trout and a nice flounder. I had a shot at a shark with a prime bait but the tide was going the wrong way.

Traveled to take a deep sea fishing trip in Jacksonville, Florida, but it got cancelled due to the weather. So, I asked around for some fishing spots. Recommendation was George Crady Fishing Bridge State Park on the Nassau Sound. I will be going back 1 more time for bigger fish. I got a Florida non-resident fishing license, that's how much I enjoyed myself.

Driving to, around and by Clearwater Beach , Florida
Clearwater Beach includes a resort area and a residential area on the Gulf of Mexico in Pinellas County on the west central coast of Florida. Located just west over the Intracoastal Waterway by way of the Clearwater Memorial Causeway from the city of Clearwater, Florida, of which it is part, Clearwater Beach is at a geographic latitude of 27.57 N and longitude 82.48 W.
Clearwater Beach is characterized by white sand beaches stretching for 2.5 miles (4 km) along the Gulf and sits on a barrier island. It has a full marina on the Intracoastal Waterway side and is linked on the south by a short bridge to another barrier island called Sand Key, where Sand Key Park is located.
The area offers shopping, restaurants, and activities such as parasailing, jet ski rentals, boat tours (with a common sighting of dolphins in the Gulf waters), miniature golf, fishing charters, and pirate ship cruises.
Clearwater has frequently been ranked one of the best beaches in the United States.Its Sandpearl resort was named one of the best beach resorts in the U.S. In January 2013, Clearwater Beach was awarded the designation of Florida's Best Beach Town by a USA Today reader poll ranking 10 Florida beach destinations. In February 2019, Clearwater Beach was named the best beach in the United States and sixth-best in the world by TripAdvisor.

Fort De Soto: Tampa St Petersburg Florida
Fort DeSoto at the Pinellas County Fort De Soto County Park is on the National Register of Historic Places. Fort De Soto was built in 1900 to protect the Harbor in Tampa Bay Florida. It was armed with 8 12-inch Seacoast mortars in two gun pits of four. Each mortar had a crew of 12 men. The two remaining at the fort are the only two examples left in north America. The only other examples remaining are in Corregidor in the Phlippines. The 6-inch Rapid fire Armstrong rifle was originally intended as a deck gun on British warships. The one in front of Fort De Soto was originally mounted at Fort Dade on Edgemont Key. In 1923 due advances in weaponry and difficulties in maintaining the post, the fort was abandoned.

Archived WTVT coverage: Sunshine Skyway Bridge tragedy
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is an icon of the Tampa Bay area, but many new arrivals to Florida may be unaware of the tragedy that befell the span's predecessor.
It was on May 9, 1980 when the unthinkable happened: the freighter MV Summit Venture collided with a support column during a blinding thunderstorm, knocking a 1,200-foot section of the roadway into the water below.
Six cars, a truck, and a bus plunged 150 feet into Tampa Bay, killing 35 people.
After the replacement span was built, the original bridge's approaches were turned into fishing piers.
WTVT's crews covered the tragedy for hours, both from the land and from the water -- a rare event in the days limited technology.
This video is some of our only surviving footage of the disaster.

Little Crabs, North Skyway Park, Tampa Bay, Florida

What a sight! There must have been hundreds of these little crabs! If you stood still long enough, they would seem to come from everywhere and head towards water. But with just the slightest movement, they would get scared and all at once the group would run towards the bushes to hide. Very cool to watch!

Snook Fishing Break Off at Florida Pier
When I can't go fishing offshore, Pier fishing still gives me a thrill I need. I used sand perch as my bait and quickly had a fish fighting for its life. Landing a Snook is not an easy task and this time the net was needed and nowhere to be found. This Snook broke me off at Rod and Reel Pier.in Anna Maria, Florida.

Best Girls Fishing Video- Florida Inshore with Light Tackle
Show Me The Snappper had a great day of inshore fishing with girls. We stayed close to home near St. Petersburg, Florida and even fished a little under the Howard Franklin Bridge.
The bait of choice was live greenbacks with 20# flourocarbon leader. The girls showed off their light tackle fishing skills with catching some Snook, Trout, Jacks and Ladyfish.
