This time i decided to climb all peaks on the right side of the SILENT VALLEY RESERVOIR and BEN CROM RESERVOIR which are; WEE BINNIAN 460M , Slieve Gullion A walk on Lugnaquilla 925 M .
The mountain is the highest peak of the Wicklow Mountains range, the highest in the province of Leinster, and the 13th highest peak in all Ireland.I started my walk from Baravore ( there is car park at the end of the Glenmalure road ) .Follow the small path along the side of the river to find a small footbridge.Cross the river and continue along the road past the youth hostel.Turn left and walk through Fraughan Rock Glen.Walk uphill along the river .The river descends the steep slope at the head of the glen.Follow the path up to emerge onto an open area at the head of the glen with the summit of Lugnaquilla now visible in front and Cloghernagh on the left.Magical Place in Northern Ireland.

The mountain is the heart of the Ring of Gullion and is the highest point in the county, with an elevation of 573 metres (1,880 ft). At the summit is a small lake and two ancient burial cairns, one of which is the highest surviving passage grave in Ireland. Slieve Gullion plays a prominent role in the mythology and history of the area and dominates the countryside around it, offering views of as far away as Antrim, Dublin Bay and Wicklow on a clear day. This disease P. ramorum which originated in China, has infected trees and forests throughout the whole country. It can kill many tree species, but appears to attack Japanese Larch first. Standing on Slieve Gullion Passage Tomb in Gale Force Winds on Winter Solstice 2015
Set on the summit of Slieve Gullion is the highest surviving passage tomb in Ireland. It is known locally as ‘the Calliagh Berra’s House’. Every year on the winter solstice the setting sun illuminates the chamber inside and every year this is celebrated at the Winter Solstice Festival. The Neolithic or New Stone Age monument dates to between 4000 B.C. and 2500 B.C., making it up to 6000 years old. That could be 3000 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt and nearly 4000 years older than England’s Stonehenge! Or as old as them anyway…

Storm Bronagh brings flooding and strong winds
Parts of the UK have been experiencing heavy rain, flooding and strong winds, with gusts of 61mph.Storm Bronagh is moving eastwards across Wales and England, with 56. 4mm of rain been recorded already in Powys.Flooding has been reported in northern England and there are at least 30 flood alerts across the UK and four warnings. A yellow weather warning for wind is in force until 09:00 BST on Friday and some homes still have no power after it was cut off during Storm Ali. Two people died when Storm Ali swept across the British Isles on Wednesday.So far the strongest gust has been recorded at Mumbles Head in Wales. Winds of up to 70mph could follow, with the strongest winds likely to hit the coast of north-east England in the early hours of Friday morning. Pictures posted on social media have showed vehicles with flood water up to their bumpers on a road between Sheffield and Rotherham. One video showed a man rescuing an elderly woman from a car that was surrounded by flood water in Tinsley.East Midlands trains said there had been severe flooding in Sheffield station and warned customers to take extra care. Trains were running at a reduced speed, it added.The yellow warning for wind means there is a possibility of damage to buildings, falling trees and branches and a possible danger to life in parts of England and Wales. Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said it would be the first time this season that south-east England would experience strong winds. The first storm to reach an area each year usually has some fairly significant impacts because all the things you didn't realise were diseased or rusted or whatever, that's the first time you know about it - when the first winds arrive, he said. Highways England warned the high winds pose a particular risk to lorry, caravan and motorbike travellers.Storm Ali, the UK's first named storm of the season, battered the British Isles on Wednesday, with winds of up to 100mph. A woman died after the caravan she was in was blown off a cliff in County Galway in the Irish Republic.A man in his 20s was killed and another in his 40s was injured, after a tree fell on them at the gates of Slieve Gullion Forest Park, near Newry, County Armagh. Travel disruption in Scotland and northern England caused by the storm persisted into Thursday, and thousands of homes were without power. One person was injured after being blown over by high winds outside the new V&A Dundee museum, which was later closed.A pupil at Trinity Primary School in Edinburgh was injured after being hit by a branch in the playground. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.Five hundred cruise passengers and crew were stranded in Greenock after severe weather broke their ship's mooring lines.

The Irish Hunger Games - A Film by Young People in South Armagh
Over the summer of 2016, two groups aged between 10 and 16 took their first steps in the film-making profession, as part of an innovative summer scheme funded and run by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Newry Mourne and Down District Council, the Arts Council and the Department for Communities. The scheme was the brainchild of a partnership between the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership and Tí Chulainn and was delivered by talented local media company SlackPress and artist Tracey McVerry.

Irish Air Corps helicopters deployed in Northern Ireland to help battle gorse fire
The Irish Air Corps has been deployed in the North for its first operation assisting the fire service. An Agusta Westland and a Eurocopter have been deployed a short distance across the border in the Slieve Gullion area of south Armagh where a “deep seated” gorse fire is raging. A spokeswoman for the Irish Defence Forces said the helicopters are equipped with a “Bambi” bucket aerial firefighting system capable of dropping 1,200 litres of water per pass. Cloughmore Stone
Overlooking Carlingford Lough and the nearby town of Rostrevor in Co Down, Cloughmore Stone is a large granite boulder that sits on an outcrop of metasedimentary rock. Its name derives from the Irish ‘An Chloch Mór’ (the big stone) and it is a popular feature for walkers and trekkers of all ages to reach and enjoy the excellent views across the region.
Legend has it that the giant Fionn Mac Cumhaill threw the stone from Slieve Foy at Cooley during a fight with a rival Giant.
