Kirsten Gillibrand Cuts Loose In Iowa Gay Bar, Sipping A Shot And Modeling Her Pride Month T-Shirt
The Democrats have given us so many cringe-worthy moments during this campaign season, but if you ask us, Kirsten Gillibrand and Eric Swalwell, both members of the 0 percent club, are in a race to run the most embarrassing campaign. Swalwell, who is a white man and apologizes sincerely for it, showed off his tender side by shooting a campaign video while changing a diaper, but now we have Gillibrand “dancing” in a gay bar while modeling some LGBT wear from her campaign store. Yes, she’s sticking with that stupid “Brave” campaign theme. We’re trying to think of an equally cringe-worthy moment from Hillary Clinton’s campaign and having a tough time — maybe one of her speeches to an African-American audience where she suddenly lapsed into black English vernacular? The hot sauce in her purse? Watch in horror as we did as this “young mom” gets her groove on. -- 2020 behind the scenes @Behind2020: “Kirsten Gillibrand relaxes after working a gay bar in Iowa”

Beers: Six year-round; nearly a dozen seasonal rotators; and the special Penrose Private Reserve aged in wine barrels
Pours: Samplers, half pints, pints, growlers and kegs
Monument, Colo., is a sleepy town situated about 20 miles north of Colorado Springs and nearly 50 away from Denver. It's a bedroom community full of commuters, so can a brewery thrive in this sleepy town? Yes, it can, if Pikes Peak Brewing Company is any evidence.
Chris Wright, an avid home brewer who developed his recipes over years before going commercial, founded Pikes Peak Brewing Company in Monument in 2011 and quickly expanded the building and capacity. Today the brewery works on a 10-barrel system (more than 300 gallons) and distributes all along the Front Range of Colorado through its canning operation.
An underlying theme for PPBC is community. Wright developed Pikes Peak Brewing Company as a place for the community to get together, and he said to We Like Drinking that his brewery is designed much in the English and Irish style of being a meeting place for people; from single adults to families. Additionally, the brewery has its Craft Beer Society where members not only get discounts off pints, they engage in many members-only events.
According to Wright and Pikes Peak Brewing Company, there are five ingredients going into every beer: Malt, Hops, Water, Yeast and Friends. While the ingredient of Friends is important, Wright said he really started to turn the corner as a brewer when he started reading from guru John Palmer about the impact of water on the taste of beer. Once he adjusted water for specific recipes, he began to have consistency.
People in Dublin didn't wake up one day and decide, 'We're going to brew a stout,' said Wright. They realized the kind of water they had and brewed a beer to fit it.
As seems to be the emerging trend of tap rooms, Pikes Peak Brewing Company tries to encourage interaction between customers by having several open layouts. In the main taproom, there are tables and more casual seating such as lounge chairs; in the barrel room (accentuated by bourbon barrels in the walls and parts of barrels in the bar), there are picnic-style tables where anyone can sit. Wright told WLD that he has personally witnessed instances where patrons walked in without knowing anyone else but walked away having made friends over a session at the pub.

Alcohol consumption has historically been a contentious issue in the United States but nowadays home-brewing is increasingly a big business.
Thousands of beer enthusiasts gathered in Philadelphia this week for the 35th annual National Homebrewers Conference to talk shop in various seminars such as practical malting - and down a few brews over a couple of days.
Gina Hyndman from Keg & Barrel Home Brew Supply explained what makes it so accessible: It is all made from scratch in the comfort of your own home. Our customers are come in to Keg & Barrel to buy fresh ingredients, fresh hops, malt, yeast.
For some brewing beer is just a hobby, but others are turning their love into a serious business. Last year, the industry was worth an estimated nine billion euros, a figure that is expected to rise to 14 billion by 2017.
Euronews spoke to Nathan Zeender and Thor Cheston, two men who have decided to make the most of their microbrewery efforts. The pair are opening a local brew pub in Philadelphia which they say gives people a real taste of something different.
It's just us, so there is going to be a real touch of care and authenticity to it, nothing cookie-cutter..yet, said Cheston.

Martin House Brewing
Martin House Brewing Co., From Engineer To Brewer
Cody Martin was working as a environmental engineer when he he fell in love with craft beer and started to home brew. After initially working with simple extract kits he soon stepped up to all grain brewing. Before long, all he could think about at his day job was what recipe he would try next.
Cody and his wife, Anna, had always thought they would branch out with a project of their own at some point, so Anna was supportive when Cody came to her with the idea of starting Martin House Brewing Co.. As soon as Anna was able to transfer her job back to Texas, Cody quit his job and they put their plans in motion.
On their return to Texas Cody made the rounds of local craft breweries offering to work for free in order to learn the business. The Deep Ellum Brewing Company (DEBC) were smart enough to take him up on the offer! During his six months at DEBC, learning the nuances of large scale brewing, he was also able to put his engineering skills to use fixing the automatic keg washer.
Cody sites his engineering background as a distinct advantage as a brewer, the systems, control panels, pumps and motors are all familiar to him and are things he can repair himself, when needed.
Martin House Brewing Co. debuted it's brews at the Fort Worth Flying Saucer on March 30, 2013 with two beers, The Imperial Texan, a Red Ale and River House, a Saison. Since then they have added Daybreak which they call a four-grain breakfast beer! Daybreak is modeled after a bowl of cereal with four grains, lactose and is finished with honey. This makes for a light refreshing beer that should prove as a good entry point into the craft beer world for the novices used to the ubiquitious American Pale Lager.
Cody's Co-founders at Martin House Brewing Co. are his wife Anna Martin (President), David Wedemeier (Business Development) and Adam Myers (Operations Manager). Keep an eye on them for big things in the future.

Let's Laugh Our Fucking Asses Off at Battletoads (#1?) - Das Boot
So, my friend IDTL came up with the big idea for us to co-commentate over Battletoads, a game of which I've never had the pleasure of playing prior to this video. Over the course of the next hour, you'll see, hear, and experience with me—guided by IDTL—my initial reactions to the hilariously outlandish wackiness of this notorious, zany NES title.
We may revisit this game on more than one occasion in the future, as parts of a series, in an attempt to actually finish it all to the end (hence the pending episode number in the video title).
Disclaimer #1: We did opt to leave in some pre, post, and mid commentary throughout the video. Any parts with excessively long commentary will be subtitled with time references that, if you so choose, will point you to where you can skip ahead and continue watching the actual gameplay.
Disclaimer #2: Throughout the entire video, I am in a complete unhindered state of sobriety; I did not consume alcoholic beverages or hallucinogenic drugs of any kind before, after, or during the recording process (specifically parts 50:31 through 1:00:06). My reciprocation of this game was entirely soundly conscious, and in no way was it staged or exaggerated.

Inside The Laughing Gas Black Market: High Society
British people use Nitrous oxide more than any other country in the world, and it recently became the second-most popular drug in the UK. The media became obsessed with the drug after a handful of deaths associated with it – often over-inflating its dangers.
The government’s response has been to include it in the Psychoactive Substances Act. This is a law that came about in response to the popularity of legal highs, putting a ban on the sale of anything that can change your mental state (except alcohol, cigarettes, and coffee). Now, selling nitrous carries a sentence of up to seven years.
We set out to discover what happens when you ban a substance overnight, and how dealers will continue to supply Britain with its best-loved gas.

Inner Evolution Retreats in Scandinavia with Ayahuasca, Bufo Alvarius and Kambó
If you want to take part of a retreat write us at sweden@innermastery.es
For 2.5 years now, INNER MASTERY & AYAHUASCA INTERNATIONAL have been hosting inner evolution retreats in Scandinavia.
We create spaces for people to reconnect with themselves and to others, with love.
In order to do this, we use different kinds of tools, such as: ancestral remedies, conscious psycho-therapeutic integrations and group dynamics.
In our retreats we say loud and clear that: there is just one thing that can guide you towards happiness, your own consciousness.
By very clearly having this intention, we truly put all our love into creating a space of emotional freedom, so that you allow yourself to feel whatever you are feeling, and learn to observe it without judgement.
In this way, an inner space of self compassion opens up, something that most of the people have never experienced before. In order to create this open state of mind and heart, the ancestral remedies play a key role, expanding your consciousness and leading you into a transpersonal experience of connection with life and with other people.
In the morning, Kambo, the Jungle vaccine, helps to cleanse your body of all the toxins and strengthens your immune system. We allow the body to grow roots.
Before lunch, we share Bufo Alvarius, that comes from the Sonoran desert and its known as the most potent entheogen in the world. Bufo Alvarius which can lead you to an experience of total one-ness, where you can return to a place of observing the world with innocent eyes, seeing that everything is connected by compassion.
During the evening, we do ayahuasca sessions. Ayahuasca is a visionary brew that has been used by shamans for thousands of years. When drinking the brew, most people experience a sense of reconnecting with their spiritual being, a being much older and greater than the persona they are embodying in this lifetime.
Others experience a majestic and magical connection with the universe, nature, and the meaning of life itself. Others experience an organic purification and emotional unblocking.
This natural brew allows us to enter the dream world, traveling through new dimensions where everything is possible, to reach for the stars in a spaceship, visit mother earth 4,000 years ago, or be a rock star for one night.
All of these transcendental experiences literally open a big space for new truths to emerge, where we all can remember that we are much more than we think, and that our potential is infinite.
The intention of the conscious integration is to ground all of these experiences into your daily life and use them as tools of consciousness.
To do that, sometimes it is necessary to confront, with authority, the lies you believed about yourself. Sharing your vulnerability with the group is usually a breaking point to reconnect with a place of trust and compassion. You may suddenly realize your problems are not so different from other peoples problems. We usually think our situation is very special and we feel so lonely in it, but guess what? We are all in the same boat. What a huge relief…
After having taken this internal journey, most of the time everything boils down to very simple things: laughing, playing, exploring, friendship, a song, a look…. Transformation occurs in a gentle and deep way.
As another retreat comes to an end, new comprehensions appear. There is no time. The moment to take the responsibility of my own happiness is now.
It is a choice, to realize: I am an amazing human being who deserves everything. To realize how many wonderful things in life I can be grateful for.
As the night fades and the light of day conquers the countryside of Sweden, I invite you to look out of the window and ask yourself one simple question: Did we ever actually leave paradise?
S6 E10 Fish Creek Owl Creek Loop, Cedar Mesa Grand Gulch Utah May 2018
This 2 night 3 day trip into Grand Gulch was enjoyed over May 29-31 2018. Contact the Kane Gulch Ranger Station for current conditions at (435) 587-1500. Fish and Owl Creeks both cut diagonally across the eastern edge of Cedar Mesa, coming together several miles before they enter Comb Wash. They are both deep canyons with an abundance of scenic
beauty. They differ from the other canyon systems on Cedar Mesa by the depth, relatively narrow canyons, and the pools of water in
the spring and fall months. The depth averages 500 feet, with the width varying from several hundred feet to very narrow at the upper reaches of Fish Creek.
Many of the pools in these canyons have extensive hanging gardens, offering a wide variety of vegetation. The rare Kachina Daisy can be found in one of these springs. The vegetation varies from sage flats in the lower ends of the canyons to cottonwood trees and pine stands on the wider benches in the upper forks. Nevill’s Arch is an impressive and prominent feature in Owl Creek, high on a “fin” in the Cedar Mesa sandstone, jutting out into the canyon. There is another arch in Fish Creek, but it is hardly visible unless you are directly below it.
The main loop is approximately 17 miles long. Three days is recommended to do this hike. The Lower Fish access is from the Comb Wash road.
Owl Creek will generally be dry from Nevill’s Arch to the confluence with Fish Creek. Fish Creek generally has intermittent water from two miles up canyon from the confluence with Owl Creek to the upper junctions. Owl has three large springs which are generally dependable year round, especially in the spring but do not count on them for water in the summer months. Top off all water bottles when water sources are available. Conditions change daily! Filter all water. Wildlife and Flora: Wildlife is scarce, but tracks of bobcats, mountain lion, ringtail, and an occasional bear may be seen in the canyons. Small fish may be found in the pools, including killifish, chubs, suckers, and
shiners or dace. Toads and frogs can be seen and heard, and there is also evidence of beaver activity in
the lower reaches of Fish Creek. There are several
varieties of wildflowers that bloom, especially after a
wet winter or spring. Vetch, penstemon, cacti, and
cliffrose are only a few.
Archaeological Values: A few cliff dwellings and
rock art sites may be visible, but because most of the
narrow canyon bottoms were not farmed prehistorically due to lack of large alluvial banks, there are few
sites associated with the canyons proper. Please respect these ancient sites wherever you find them as
lessened impact preserves them for future enjoyment
and study. Be aware of middens (ancient trash heap)
and leave artifacts where you find them.
All hikers and overnight in-canyon hikers require
a permit. Group size is limited to 12 persons. Groups of eight or
more persons and parties with stock require an advanced permit.
During the high use season (March 1 – June 15 & Sept. 1 – Oct.
31), all overnight permits must be picked up at the Kane Gulch
Ranger Station between 8:00 a.m. and noon on the trip start day.
Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Pets must be kept out of
springs, potholes, and other natural water sources. Pets are not
allowed in ruins. Bicycles and motorized vehicles must stay on
designated roads. The use of rock climbing equipment to access
archaeological sites is not allowed. The use of safety rope as an aid
along hiking routes is permissible but not allowed for gaining access to ruins. Acts of Nature present risks which the permit holder assumes. The permit holder will be held legally and financially responsible for historic, archaeological, cultural or ecological values damaged, destroyed or removed by trip participants. Camping is permitted in well-used campsites. No new campsites are to be created. No camping is allowed in ruins. Pack it in – pack it out. The disposal of human waste is not permitted within 200 feet of a water source, trail or campsite. Human waste will be deposited in a “cathole” (6 inches deep) and covered with soil. Used toilet paper must be carried out. DO NOT BURN TOILET PAPER. No wood or charcoal fires all allowed. Permits are available to the Monticello BLM Office (435-587-1510) and at the Kane Gulch Ranger Station.

Eternal K-Hole of the Spotless Mind | High Society
Timmy Davis is not an alcoholic. But like many twenty-something students, he's worried he may be drinking too much.
And cutting down isn't easy. The feel-good memory associations that our minds create – between the sight of a cold pint of beer and pleasure, for instance – lead to the cravings that sustain addictive behaviour, and cause us to relapse.
Dr. Ravi Das is a neuropsychopharmacologist at University College London whose research explores whether we can intervene in addiction by weakening those memories. His latest experiment theorises that ketamine – a controlled drug notorious for its recreational use (to attain a state of intense dissociation and incapacitation described as a 'K-hole') – may have the makings of the elusive 'forgetting pill' – a drug that, administered under correct clinical conditions, can weaken specific memories safely.
Timmy has volunteered for Dr. Das' latest experiment, in which 90 volunteers will receive a ketamine infusion in a controlled setting. Timmy is no stranger to psychedelics. But could a drug he has previously encountered recreationally really help him cut down his drinking?
High Society is a VICE documentary series about drugs in the UK.
