Located in Nebraska near the town of Valentine. We saw 5 waterfalls on our short trip but there are more than 200 dropping water into the river.

Smith Falls, at 63 feet (19 m), is the highest waterfall in the state of Nebraska. Located 18 miles (29 km) east of Valentine, the falls is part of Smith Falls State Park and is adjacent to the Niobrara National Scenic River. The state park was established by theNebraska Game and Parks Commission in 1992. Chimney Rock is a prominent geological rock formation in Morrill County in western Nebraska. Rising nearly 300 feet (91 m) above the surrounding North Platte River valley, the peak of Chimney Rock is 4,226 feet (1,288 m) above sea level.[1] During the middle 19th century it served as a landmark along the Oregon Trail, the California Trail, and the Mormon Trail, which ran along the north side of the rock. Scotts Bluff National Monument in western Nebraska includes an important 19th-century landmark on the Oregon Trail andMormon Trail. Skiing Nebraska's highest point and exploring the Pawnee Buttes area. Snow doesn't last long in this area due to strong winds or strong sun. Nebraska, thats just a fly over state right? Wrong, were flying through, fly fishing through anyway.
Unfamiliar places and environments tends to bring along a newfound sense of excitement. Maybe for me it’s in the unknown where I begin to draw from the ubiquitous vitality of everything around me. The body and mind go into states of hyper awareness and here I learn the most. Even though I may go through the initial moments of frustration due to the lack of rapport I’ve yet to build with new domain, I quickly get the sense of what will work and what won’t.
