Located a 1-hour drive north of Auckland, Snells Beach Motel features an outdoor heated swimming pool and indoor private spa pool. All of the apartments include cooking facilities. Check in is available 24/7.
Situated in the centre of the Matakana Coast Wine Country overlooking the beautiful Kawau Bay, Snells Beach Motel is an easy 75-minute drive from Auckland Airport.
Each apartment has a DVD player and satellite TV. Wi-Fi access is available. Some apartments feature a double spa bath. Guests have access to a shared laundry.
Facilities include a tennis court, children’s trampoline and BBQ area. The shops, cafes and restaurants of Snells Beach town centre are a 2-minute walk away. The beach is only 1,969 feet away.

Snells Beach is just north of Auckland in the Northland region of New Zealand. This is actually the first place that Hilary and I stayed once we left Auckland and was our introduction to van life. Just 5 minutes’ walk from Kawau Bay, Salty Dog Inn features a restaurant, BBQ facilities and free karaoke. All rooms have satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi is available in the business centre. Complimentary cooked breakfast is provided.
Salty Dog Inn Snells Beach is 10 minutes’ drive from Warkworth. Goat Island and Pakiri are each a 30-minute drive, and Auckland is a 50-minute drive away.
A refrigerator, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities are standard in all rooms. Each room features a bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries.
The restaurant specialises in scotch fillet, lamb rack and a warm vegetable salad. The bar is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing evening drink.

A planned flight to meet my parents comes to an abrupt end when the motor stalled and unable to restart in the air! This is not the first time this engine has let me down! Maybe time for an upgrade ;-) Stunning flight though.
