Gear Rental: Snow Service in Cortina
To keep our packing light, we rented all of our gear from Snow Service in Cortina including our pants, jackets, gloves, and goggles. We also got to enjoy a small tour with Simone, Tiziano, and Gino that we are excited to share with you. They have been in business 20 years now and we were so thankful for the wonderful service.

Val Senales, also called Schnalstal, is a side valley of the Vinschgau in the autonomous province of South Tyrol, Italy. The valley belongs almost in its entirety to the municipality of Schnals, while small parts in the entrance area lie in Naturns und Kastelbell-Tschars.
The Vernagt-Stausee reservoir is located in the valley. Braunes Bergschaf, a rare breed of domesticated sheep, is raised there.
In 1991, Ötzi, a well-preserved natural mummy from about 3300 BC, was found in the nearby Schnalstal glacier. Situated in the autonomous province of South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of the city of Bolzano, on the border with Austria. The municipality includes large parts of the Schnalstal. Skiing at the Val Senales Glacier is equally suitable for children and families as well as professionals. For decades, the Hochjochferner glacier has been a training center for world-class athletes in both Alpine and cross-country skiing. Enthusiasts of ski touring will find ideal snow conditions, and cross-country skiers will be drawn to panoramic high altitude trails. Food lovers have a choice of five different mountain restaurants offering delicious traditional mountain dishes on sunny terraces.
The ski area offers a complete range of services, including a ski depot, ski rental, skiing lessons, hotels, and camping sites right next to the slopes. Thanks to the varied ticket options available at the Val Senales Glacier in South Tyrol, every visitor will find an offer to suit their budget and needs. The glaciers of South Tyrol have helped to create a fascinating natural park. The majestic Hochjochferner glacier lies along the border between Austria and Italy. Every year from September to May, winter sports enthusiasts hit the slopes at this world class 185-acre natural park. The glacier is equally suited to beginners and experienced skiers, as well as families. The real crowd pleaser is especially the 8 km long Schmuggler downhill slope leading into the valley. Dolomiti Superski - Snow.wmv
The snow guarantee for your perfect winter holiday
The Dolomiti Superski region is very large; it includes 1,200 km of slopes and 450 state-of-the-art lift facilities. What counts most, however, is the quality. If necessary, almost 100% of the slopes are covered by snow making facilities. This ensures that 1,100 km of slopes are always ready, even when snow is in short supply.
Ideal climate for winter sports
Powder snow and blue sky; this is how it should be. In the Dolomites the conditions are nearly ideal. According to experts, 80 percent of sunny days and the very low air humidity are responsible for the extremely powdery snow. Additionally, the slopes are all situated at snow-proof altitudes between 1,500 and 3,269 metres.
Many services and one objective: perfect slopes
In the dark of night, whilst hotel guest are soundly sleeping, in excess of 300 snowcats ensure that the slopes are perfectly smooth for the following morning. Engineers look after the state- of-the-art snow making facilities that create the perfect snow on the slopes and 3,000 staff members take care of the guests at the lift facilities.
