Soho Hong Kong Info:
The SoHo (Chinese: 蘇豪; also 荷南 and 荷南美食區; formally 中環蘇豪區) district in Hong Kong is an entertainment zone located in Central and bordering between Lan Kwai Fong and Sheung Wan, within Central. The name is derived from its location: South of Hollywood Road.
The Central-Mid-Levels escalator was built in 1993; the now vibrant character of SoHo is attributed to the creation of the escalator system, which at the time was the longest escalator system in the world. Prior to the escalator construction, the area was populated by many elderly locals, old go-downs and porcelain shops.
The area now consists of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and antique stores of Staunton Street and Elgin Street. SoHo also is home to the first full-time comedy club in Asia, The TakeOut Comedy Club Hong Kong. Hong Kong taxi drivers usually regard SoHo to mean either Staunton Street or Elgin Street.
Buildings in the SoHo area are a mix of commercial/residential, with the commercial businesses on the lower floors, and residential above the First Floors. Around the same time the Mid Levels Escalator was built, a few foreigners started to move into the area, taking up both commercial premises and renting flats. At the time the flats were cheaper than other expat areas in Hong Kong, and only a few minutes' walk from the business district.

China and Hong Kong take no chances as Wuhan coronavirus spreads

More than 2,000 people worldwide have been confirmed infected with Wuhan coronavirus. The majority of cases remain in the city of Wuhan in central China's Hubei province, where the virus originated. The spread of the previously unknown coronavirus has seen nearly a dozen cities in Hubei impose travel restrictions, and popular tourist spots in mainland China have been closed over the Lunar New Year holidays in an effort to contain it. Hong Kong authorities have also taken extra measures, including closing two theme parks and extending school holidays.

Cosmopolitan district located south of Hollywood Road with a variety of restaurants, bars, cafés, art galleries, and shops. The restaurants serve both Western cuisine as well as exotic dishes, but you can grab something delicious right away on the street. The shops range from antique shops to fashion boutiques. The nightlife here is pretty busy.

Hong Kong Nightlife-SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong
Two of the best places for Hong Kong nightlife are SoHo (South of Hollywood Road) and Lan Kwai Fong, known for drinking, clubbing, and dancing. This was my first night in Hong Kong so the best way to overcome jet lag was to just go out and experience the nightlife.

HONG KONG TRAVEL VLOG 2017 - SOHO & VICTORIA PEAK | Travel Vlog 009
Hong Kong coming at ya in this travel vlog - today we discover the Victoria Peak, checked the streets of Soho, browsed the mall, took the Star Ferry over to the shopping mall and more.
Hong Kong is a buzzing place, a lot to see and do and we smashed out as much of as we could in this one travel day. Soho area was really cool but the highlight was probably going up the Peak, or the Victoria Peak it's called I think. Checking out some of the shopping and food was pretty cool as well - worth a visit!
