This is a compilation of our first day/night stay at the Dinosaur Valley State Park in the summer of 2017. We setup a tent for our belongings, but enjoyed the safety of our homemade mini camper especially during the storm in the night. Video ends when we awaken in the morning.

This is a compilation of Day 2 of our family vacation at the Dinosaur Valley State Park in the summer of 2017. We hiked down the path towards the Paluxy River, a tributary of the Brazos River, where dinosaur tracks are embedded in the limestone river bed. We chose a shallow part of the river where the footprints were. The Blue Hole of the Dinosaur Valley State Park is part of the Paluxy River and a walking distance to the spot we are seen on the video, but it was a deep swimming hole and we didn't bring any flotation devices for the kids. I saw huge fishes in the Blue Hole, but no luck with hooking one. Nonetheless, we had a lot of fun. The little fishes were nibbling our toes. The baby was scared of the little fishes, but we tried to keep her distracted.

Exploring & Surviving Dinosaur Valley State Park
Dinosaur Valley State Park, located just northwest of Glen Rose in Somervell County, is a 1,524.72-acre (617 ha) scenic park set astride the Paluxy River. The land for the park was acquired from private owners under the State Parks Bonds Program during 1968 and opened to the public in 1972.In addition to being a state park, it is also a National Natural Landmark.
Eastward-dipping limestones, sandstones, and mudstones of the Glen Rose Formation were deposited during the early Cretaceous Period approximately 113 million years ago along the shorelines of an ancient sea, and form the geological setting for the park area. Over the last million years or so, these layered formations have been eroded, dissected and sculpted by the Paluxy River which, in many places, has cut down to resistant beds and planed off sizable exposures of rock in the river bottom.

We did his video for fun for a Travel Channel contest. We only had a couple hours to film and a couple to edit. So needless to say it's not the greatest. But watch and laugh!
