South Norwood Lake and Grounds
South Norwood Lake and Grounds is a park in South Norwood in the London Borough of Croydon. The main entrance is in Woodvale Avenue while other entrances are located in Auckland Road and Sylvan Road. The area measures up to 281⁄2 acres 11.53 hectares.
The lake was originally created as a reservoir for the Croydon Canal, which from 1809 to 1836 ran between Croydon and the Grand Surrey Canal at New Cross.[1] Today is now used by local anglers, who fish for carp, bream and perch among others, and Croydon Sailing Club. The lake is also home to a variety of aquatic birds including a number of great crested grebes as well as regularly sighted herons and ringed-necked parakeets that can be seen nesting on the island.
As well as the lake there is a bowling green, tennis and basketball courts, football pitches, a cricket pitch, a playground and a trim trail. The park still has active Park Rangers and has a Park Ranger's office with public toilets.

Fishing for GIANT CATFISH - New UK PB!
I head off Fishing with my Dad to try and catch the Giant Catfish that lurk in a tiny pond here in the UK. The Wels catfish can grow to monster sizes in parts of Europe. The River Monsters are usually found on the famous river Ebro in Spain as well as various rivers in Italy and other countries in Europe. But in the UK, they are found in various still water ponds and lakes. Pond Fishing is really popular in the UK, so I head out with Dad for a day fishing. We show you the rigs and gear that we use to catch catfish. They can be caught on both bait and lures. Learning how to catch catfish is not complicated. Dad even uses some Bushcraft to put a rig together! Hope you guys enjoy the vid and thanks for joining us on the adventure! - Mike

The Church of St John the Evangelist is a Church of England church in Upper Norwood, a suburb of South London, in the United Kingdom. It is a Grade II* listed red brick Gothic Revival church which was built between 1878 and 1887 by the English architect John Loughborough Pearson (1817–97).[1] The church is dedicated to the Christian saint, John the Evangelist.
Since the incumbency of Thomas Helmore, the Church of St John the Evangelist has maintained a strong tradition of music in Christian worship. The organ was originally built by Thomas Christopher Lewis in 1882 during the construction of the church, when only the chancel had been completed. The instrument was of an unusual design; while the organ itself was situated in the north transept, the console was placed on the other side of the church in the south choir aisle. This led to technical problems and the organ underwent several rebuilds in 1912, 1947 (following wartime bomb damage) and most recently in a restoration project undertaken in 1997-98 by Harrison & Harrison
High Mass takes place at 10am each Sunday at the Nave Altar accompanied by music from the choir. The day ends with a sung Evensong at 6pm. Details of the music to be sung can be found by clicking on Music at St John's above. There will also be Morning Prayer at 9:15am on a Sunday. Other service times are shown below.
There will normally be a sung evening mass on all of the major Festivals such as Ash Wednesday, Ascension, Corpus Christi, and All Souls Day. Easter and Christmas are similarly observed in keeping with our tradition. For Weddings, Christenings.
