You NEED TO VISIT WALES! | South West Wales Road Trip
Welcome to Wales everybody!! I think the theme of this South West Wales road trip is going to be...I didn't know Wales was this beautiful
On day one of Stephen's surprise birthday road trip we woke up in Brecon Beacon National Park where we give you a room tour of our van life campervan for the next few days.
After breakfast we head out to explore the National Park at Henrhyd Waterfall before heading to Carreg Cennen Castle to try our first Welsh Cawl to warm us up before climbing up to see the castle ruins.
Afterwards we made our way to One Cat Farm - the cutest little glamping spot - you all need to come here!! We even learnt how to run a campsite!
In the morning after having the most unique bath warmed by a fire, we headed off to explore more of Wales before stopping off at our final campsite - Three Cliffs Bay!

Random musings of a Nurse in the UK
This video is my personal vlog and would basically cover my life working as Nurse in the UK, it also includes some musings of my personal life! I am a very optimistic person, so for those people who would rather spoil and leave negative comments behind-I would advise you to stop watching my videos and just live your life and leave me alone. Izzy has been growing again! It's time to go hunting for a new coat, as the sleeves on her present coat have got decidedly short. Imo's got a few bits and bobs to do at home before they go.

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a homeschooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Our resourcefulness is tested on a daily basis, but we'd love to share our little triumphs and discoveries with you as we go along.
Imo is a flautist/flutist (flute player), and these vlogs will often take you behind the scenes of the life of a professional folk musician. Stand by for bits and bobs of live folk music and dance as they pop up in our day-to-day lives.
These videos will not generally feature recorded background music, making them extra suitable for people who aren't keen on pop music!
Follow this channel for occasional tips on caring for eczema, content relating to the flute, travel (particularly to Lisbon, Portugal), homeschooling and homeschool mom stuff, folk musician lifestyle, and to see what life is like for this little family in our corner of South Wales in the UK.

36 Hours in The Valleys South Wales
The Valleys region of South Wales has received some major tourism investment in recent years as it regenerates. A key barrier to this regeneration was removed last year with the scrapping of the road toll on the M4 which meant everyone had to pay to get into Wales.
The region has outstanding natural beauty – something for which Wales is known. What is unique about this region is its coal mining past which ended in the 1980s. Now, what were mining sites have been turned into interesting and quite cutting edge tourist attractions. It now offers many fantastic days out in South Wales.
Most importantly many of the sites of this region – both old and new – make for some very instagrammable places to visit in South Wales!
When it comes to fun places to visit in South Wales, the place you cannot miss in The Valleys is the Welsh Mining Experience. Someone very clever was responsible for turning what was once one of the most important coal mining areas in the world into a major tourist draw. I never would have thought I would find mining life so interesting!
The Welsh Mining Experience is held at the Rhondda Heritage Park. The park was once the Lewis Merthyr Colliery. Two mining pits opened in what is now the park in the 1850s. The Coal Industry enjoyed steady production and employment until alternatives started to become available in the 1950s. Production ceased at the Lewis Merthyr Colliery in 1983.
The site itself now holds several buildings as well as the engine rooms. The visitor’s centre has been beautifully constructed. There are mock-ups of what the butcher’s shop would have looked like, a chocolate shop that just uses local ingredients – as does the very Bracchi café which is on site.
The only real way to experience the park is to take the Black Gold Experience Underground Guided Tour. It is now one of the best places to visit in South Wales UK.
s tour seeks to bring the experience of working in the coal mines back to life. They have even employed former miners to lead the tours and they are fantastic characters. They share their personal stories of working in the mines as well as the history – and they are very amusing.
Llancaiach Fawr Manor dates back to the 1550s and was owned by the Prichard Family. All the furnishings in the home are accurate reproductions of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Gellihaf House is an absolutely lovely boutique bed and breakfast that also does a fantastic home-made afternoon tea on the weekends. Set in two acres of beautiful gardens and grounds, this is my kind of boutique property! The gardens are beautiful as you can see in this video.
Continuing with the theme of regenerating the areas that were devoted to mining, the 300-acre Parc Slip nature reserve was an opencast coal mine. Tragically, an explosion in 1892 took the lives of 112 men and boys – virtually wiping out a generation in this small area.
In 1989 the land was transformed into a nature reserve. It is now home to some of Wales’ rarest wildlife as well as many badgers, foxes, butterflies and other creatures. There are several hides throughout the reserve that can be visited for some nice photographic captures.
Finally, lovely Woodlands Bistro is a genuine hidden gem! This lovely restaurant is part of a community project and has the most stunning views across The Valleys. The restaurant (and bunkhouse which can be rented out) are on 37 acres of lovely land.

3 MINUTES/ A VISIT TO: White Swan Hotel, Alnwick/ 2000
I traveled to the UK back in 2000 to obtain footage for a documentary about the Titanic I wanted to do. I traveled from Los Angeles to London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Alnwick, Liverpool, Cardiff South Wales, Southampton and ended up in Paris.
Along the way I shot video in places that were Titanic related, and others, just to visit with some friends. When I returned home in April of 2000 I didn’t end up doing anything with the footage for quite some time.
Finally in 2018 I released my documentary “Titanic, HW 401: A Personal Reflection” on YouTube. I used much of the special footage I shot for my documentary and very little of the extra footage that I shot on my trip.
I’ve edited the extra footage together and am including some of the places I visited in my “3 Minutes, A Visit To:” series of videos here on YouTube. In this very last installment of “3 Minutes, A Visit To:” I visit The White Swan Hotel in Alnwick, UK. More about this visit can be found below.
Ron Hamill
White Swan Hotel
The White Swan Hotel is a 300 year old coaching inn which is located in the market town of Alnwick, Northumberland, England.
In 1936 the RMS Olympic, which was one of Titanic’s sister ships, was scrapped and the interior fittings sold. The then owner of the White Swan, who was a frequent traveler on the RMS Olympic, bought the paneling from the ships first class lounge and had it installed into his hotel. He also purchased several elements from the Olympics first class staircase.
To this day many who visit the White Swan Hotel do so just to see this very special room.
I first set up in the lobby and then made my way back to the Olympic Suite. I spent about an hour shooting the various walls and fixtures of the room.
Later I headed outside to get some outside establishing shots of the White Swan.

Tour of Britain 2017 | Essential Guide | Cycling Weekly
The route of the 2017 Tour of Britain (September 3-10) promises to bring exciting racing with a numbers of firsts in the British stage race’s history. | Subscribe to Cycling Weekly here:
The race visits a selection of towns and cities which will be hosting the event for the first time, as well as returning to a few old favourites.
Where can I watch the Tour of Britain?
Crowds will gather at the start and finish towns, as well as lining the route – specifically congregating at key climbs for a chance to see fireworks as riders try to split the race or take control of the peloton.
Edinburgh will host the opening stage on Sunday, September 3, for the first time, with Cardiff hosting the finish of the eighth and final stage on Sunday, September 10, for a conclusion in Wales. Not since 2012 has the race finished outside London.
Stage one kicks off in the prestigious surroundings of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, heading south to Kelso in the Scottish Borders for a crowd-friendly finishing loop.
Stage two is hosted by Northumberland, with the stage starting near the picturesque Kielder Water and Forest Park before heading to Blyth on the race’s longest stage.
It’s further south to North Lincolnshire for stage three, which plays host the race for the first time since 2009. The day kicks off in the Normanby Hall country estate and finishes in Scunthorpe.
