This short documentary shows the city of Spring Hill Florida on race day. As we wait for our birds, weather and winds change the expected outcome significantly. Many names you would expect to see of the front page fall far behind. We are in unit 10 with our handler who gave us an amazing walk around of the towns best lofts, we decided not to push our host with cameras and simply enjoyed the hospitality. We did share a few clips with old friends who have allowed us to share this video with you today. We are working on a larger documentary project for homing pigeons that we expect to share with you guys in the next 2 to 3 months.

Spring Hill Florida has been on Florida maps since 1856, although there was no actual established town to show for it. While some bitter residents may claim that is still the case, Spring Hill has come a long way since its official birth in 1967.
The planning stages for Spring Hill Florida date back to 1962, when it was founded by the Deltona Corporation as a census-designated place, which means it lacks municipal government entities such as a city hall and a mayor, but is still included in statistical measures such as the United States Census.
Spring Hill Florida was founded in 1967 as a planned community, which was developed by the Deltona Corporation and the Mackle Brothers who built the community. The plans for the community are actually identical to the community of Deltona, Florida. The Mackle Brothers sold many of the properties and land in the area through intense advertising. It appeared on maps of Florida as early as 1856. It has since become a sprawling semi-city in its own right, though it is an unincorporated area. The main entrance to the original development is marked by the Spring Hill waterfall on Spring Hill Drive and US Route 19 (Commercial Way). Its location has Hernando Beach to the west, Brooksville, Florida to the east, and Tampa to the south via the Suncoast Parkway, US 41, and I-75. Spring Hill is the largest town in population north of Tampa in the St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area.
Spring Hill Florida has in the past two decades attracted a large number of business chains, reflecting the recent boom in population and the tastes of the recent influx of residents seeking lower property values, quiet suburban life, and a low crime rate. With its proximity to Tampa, about 35 miles (56 km) south and the completion of the Suncoast Parkway in 2001, has made Spring Hill easily accessible to the Tampa-St. Petersburg area. SPRING HILL, FLORIDA — One person was killed after a small plane crashed near an elementary school in Spring Hill, Florida on Friday.The crash involved a Cessna 206 Amphibian floatplane with a pontoon. It was en route from Odessa to Orlando when it crashed in Spring Hill several blocks from John D. Floyd Elementary School, the Tampa Tribune reported.The pilot had been in contact with Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport before the crash. Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis told the Tampa Tribune that the pilot was attempting to land at nearby Hernando airport when the plane crashed.A witness told WFLA that the plane nose-dived and crashed in the backyard of a home. The Tampa Tribune reports that the home was at 13088 Little Farms Drive, north of Spring Hill Drive near the intersection of Coronado Drive and Whitewood Avenue.
