Dr. Sam Wells, who will offer reflections and commentary on the music, the Choir of St. Martin-in-the-Fields (London, England) will perform a tour concert titled Resurrection, Ascension, and Pentecost, which includes selections by Tallis, Howells, and MacMillan. The renewal project at St Martin-in-the-Fields is one of the most significant and complex currently being developed undertaken in London. Plans for St Martin's are set against a rich backdrop of heritage, community and faith that is simultaneously sacred and secular. The site of St Martin-in-the-Fields is highly significant: a complex mix of buildings including the church, schoolsocial care facilities, residential apartments and the underground crypts and vaults. Eric Parry Architects' response to the brief centres around a robust solution masterplan that connects each of the different elements of the site, creating and framing a space to nurture and sustain the community.

Jasper Stallings and Mary Haywood, his wife, had two daughters christened at St. Martin's in the 1620's. He was at Jamestown, Virginia, around 1617 cultivating silkworms. He and Mary were married at St. Margaret's at Westminster Abbey.

Blessing of the Crib - St Martin in the Fields Church Trafalgar Square London
We Join a torch-lit procession from the steps of St Martin-in-the-Fields church, as the choir and clergy bless the Crib in a special ceremony in Trafalgar Square. The Crib was designed by Tomoaki Suzuki with figures inspired by London’s diverse community from around the world .
The crib will be on display throughout December so if your in town make sure you go and see it as well as this years Christmas tree. The Norwegian Spruce tree is a gift from the people of Norway and the city of Oslo to London to say thank you for Britain’s support during World War II
