This is one of the oldest existing churches in Dublin. A Norman church to St Ouen was built here in 1190 to replace an earlier structure dedicated to St Colmcille. It is said to have the oldest bells in Ireland with three bells dating from 1423 hanging in the tower.

Here is a another set of pictures I took on a business trip to Dublin this past September. In this case, the subjects were St. Audoen's Church, the oldest medieval church in the city, and Dublinia, a museum themed on the city's Viking and Medieval eras.
I used my Canon EOS 7D SLR with a Canon L-series 24-105mm short zoom lens as well as a Canon Speedlite 580 EX-II since it was very dark inside both places. I developed the pictures in Adobe Lightroom 3.2 and Photoshop Elements 7.0 (running them through Noiseware 2.0 Standard because of the high ISO used).

O'Connell St, St Michan and St Audoen (Dublin)
O'Connell Street (Irish: Sráid Uí Chonaill) is Dublin's main thoroughfare. One of Europe's widest streets, it measures 49m (160ft) in width at its southern end, 46m (150ft) at the north, and is 500m (1650ft) in length. Known as 'Sackville Street' until 1924, Dublin Corporation renamed it in honour of Daniel O'Connell, a nationalist leader of the early nineteenth century whose statue stands at the lower end of the street, facing O'Connell Bridge.

Built on the site of an early Danish chapel (1095), the current structure dates largely from a reconstruction in 1686, but is still (possibly) the only parish church on the north side of the Liffey surviving from a Viking foundation.
While the exterior of the church may be unimpressive, the interior boasts some fine woodwork, and an organ (dated 1724) on which Handel is said to have composed his Messiah.
Further into the bowels of the church, the vaults of St. Michan's uniquely contain many mummified remains. The walls in the vaults contain limestone, which has kept the air dry, creating ideal conditions for preservation. Among the preserved remains are a 400-year-old nun, a six-and-a-half foot alleged crusader, Henry and John Sheares (leaders of the 1798 rebellion), and a body mysteriously with its hands and feet severed. The various holders of the title Earl of Kenmare were also interred here.
The church and vaults are open to tours on Saturdays, and seasonally on some weekdays. As an active place of worship however, the church is closed on Sunday to visitors.
St Audoen's Catholic Church is a Catholic church, sited on High Street Dublin Ireland beside the similarly named and much older St. Audoen's Anglican Church on Cornmarket.
The Church was built between 18411846 and was designed by Patrick Byrne who also designed the nearby St. Paul's Arran Quay.
The church has its portico added in 1893 by G.C. Ashlin to relieve the external facade. Until 1880 it had a central dome positioned over the crossing of the nave but it collapsed and was replaced by a flat ceiling. The interior is lit by lunette windows cut into the massive black calp walls. These walls are best appreciated from Cook Street from where their sheer bulk dominates the area and the city walls. Because of its steeply sloping site, the church has a double level crypt to the rear.
Until December 2007 the church hosted a regular traditional Latin Mass. The church has experienced a resurgence of attendance due to the influx of Polish immigrants who regularly celebrate mass in their native language. (wikipedia)

Saint Mary's Church Of Ireland, Dungarvan - A Short History
A church has existed at the location of St. Mary's Church of Ireland almost since the foundation of Dungarvan town, Co. Waterford, Ireland. The remains of the old Pre-Reformation Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin, records of which date back to the 1300s, can still be seen in the grounds of the present church.
