Hanoi Cathedral (St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hanoi) Travel VLOG | Vietnam Hanoi
Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. At its heart is the chaotic Old Quarter, where the narrow streets are roughly arranged by trade. There are many little temples, including Bach Ma, honoring a legendary horse, plus Đồng Xuân Market, selling household goods and street food.

Autumn night at St Joseph's Cathedral - Slice of life Hanoi
Last night, there was a special outdoor service at Hanoi's St Joseph's Cathedral, the city's main catholic church. For an hour or so, the chaos of the old quarter gave way to prayer, hymns - there was even a brass band.
St Joseph's Cathedral HANOI VIETNAM????????
St. Joseph's Cathedral in the Old Quarter is Hanoi's largest and most famous church.
Even though you've heard of it and seen pictures of it, it is simply stunning when you gaze your eyes upon it. The Neo Gothic style lures people in and you can see visitors just stand and stare at it.
It is located in a small square in the centre of the Old Quarter which gives you a good chance to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere of the whole area. This is Hanoi's most popular church and they always have to put out extra seating in the form of little stools to sit on.
The Sunday evening Mass is so popular that people spill out onto the surrounding streets, which have many shops, cafes and restaurants too so grab a meal and if you get tired of looking at the church you can turn your attention to people watching. I take a look inside too. Enjoy!????????

St Joseph's Cathedral Vietnam Nha Tho Lon, Hanoi Gothic Revival (Neo-Gothic style) church
Vietnam Nha Tho Lon, Hanoi Gothic Revival (Neo-Gothic style) church with the Divergent Travelers.
The late 19th-century Gothic Revival (Neo-Gothic style) church serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hanoi to nearly 4 million Catholics in the country.Construction began in 1886, with the architectural style described as resembling Notre Dame de Paris. The church was one of the first structures built by the French colonial government in Indochina when it opened in December 1886. It is the oldest church in Hanoi.[1]
The cathedral conducts mass several times during the day. For Sunday evening mass at 6:00 PM, large crowds spill out into the streets. The prayer hymns are broadcast and Catholics who are unable to enter the cathedral congregate in the street and listen to hymns. Check out our post at
