Illuminati symbol in a US church?
The removal of a massive church organ in Rhode Island has uncovered a 170-year-old mystery involving the carved faces of a woman.
Workers were removing the 2400 pipe organ from St. Mary's Church in Newport for renovation, when they discovered the profile in each corner of the choir loft
Some people thought it might be the Blessed Mother Mary because the church is named after her. Construction of the historic church dates to 1848 and it was dedicated in 1852. Records from that time seem to have been lost, so there are no answers from the original architectural documents.
The church has its place in American history. It was the site of President John F. Kennedy's wedding to Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953. A total of three organs were installed in the church between 1855 and 1958. The female profiles may even have been visible in the church's early years, since each organ was bigger than the previous one.
A local University professor is trying to solve the mystery.. They were found at the end of a series of arches featuring the faces of Jesus 12 apostles. They suggested she might be Mary Magdalene, because of her place in the church. She is called the Apostle to the Apostles, because Jesus appeared to her first and told her to go tell the Apostles.
But for now, the mysterious face hidden behind the booming church organ will have to be the song of legend.

Ringing the three bells at Roundhay, Leeds
Possibly the last ringing on this Samuel Smith ring of three, in a fast-decaying church in Leeds. The bells themselves are in good condition, on modern fittings and with fairly new ropes. Until the closure of the church as an Anglican one they were rung regularly.
**Please note that this building is in a very poor state of repair and may be dangerous!**
The church is now owned by the Pentecostal Church, who needed a place to meet and bought it for very little, agreeing to maintain the building in reasonable repair. Quite clearly this hasn't happened - there are several holes in the roof and there's only a plastic sheet covering the the porch. Water can be heard dripping into the roof space and the carpets inside are sodden. Water ingress has caused the organ - rebuilt only a few years ago - to rot and collapse. It is extremely sad to see what is a rather nice building (albeit fairly typical for its time) in such a disgraceful state of neglect. It must be so upsetting for people who worshipped here in times gone by and for those whose loved ones are buried in the large churchyard. I do hope that the building can be saved before it falls down. If not, that the bells, windows and unique war memorial can be salvaged and used elsewhere.

SUMMARY
=======
Oregon ( (listen) OR-i-gən) is a state in the Pacific Northwest region on the West Coast of the United States. The Columbia River delineates much of Oregon's northern boundary along Washington state, while the Snake River delineates much of its eastern boundary along Idaho. The parallel 42° north delineates the southern boundary with California and Nevada. Oregon is one of only three states of the contiguous United States to have a coastline on the Pacific Ocean.
Oregon was inhabited by many indigenous tribes before Western traders, explorers, and settlers arrived. An autonomous government was formed in the Oregon Country in 1843 before the Oregon Territory was created in 1848. Oregon became the 33rd state on February 14, 1859. Today, at 98,000 square miles (250,000 km2), Oregon is the ninth largest and, with a population of 4 million, 27th most populous U.S. state. The capital, Salem, is the second most populous city in Oregon, with 164,549 residents. Portland, with 632,309 residents, is the most populous and ranks as the 26th most populous city in the United States. The Portland metropolitan area, which also includes the city of Vancouver, Washington, to the north, ranks the 23rd largest metro area in the nation, with a population of 2,389,228.
Oregon is one of the most geographically diverse states in the U.S., marked by volcanoes, abundant bodies of water, dense evergreen and mixed forests, as well as high deserts and semi-arid shrublands. At 11,249 feet (3,429 m), Mount Hood, a stratovolcano, is the state's highest point. Oregon's only national park, Crater Lake National Park, comprises the caldera surrounding Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States. The state is also home to the single largest organism in the world, Armillaria ostoyae, a fungus that runs beneath 2,200 acres (8.9 km2) of the Malheur National Forest.Because of its diverse landscapes and waterways, Oregon's economy is largely powered by various forms of agriculture, fishing, and hydroelectric power. Oregon is also the top timber producer of the contiguous United States, and the timber industry dominated the state's economy in the 20th century. Technology is another one of Oregon's major economic forces, beginning in the 1970s with the establishment of the Silicon Forest and the expansion of Tektronix and Intel. Sportswear company Nike, Inc., headquartered in Beaverton, is the state's largest public corporation with an annual revenue of $30.6 billion.Like its northern neighbor Washington, Oregon is one of the most socially progressive states in the country. Same-sex marriage in Oregon was recognized in 2013 before its full legalization in 2015, cannabis is legal for recreational and medicinal use in the state, and assisted suicide is also permitted by law in Oregon.

SUMMARY
=======
Separation of church and state is paraphrased from Thomas Jefferson and used by others in expressing an understanding of the intent and function of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution which reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...
The phrase separation between church & state is generally traced to a January 1, 1802, letter by Thomas Jefferson, addressed to the Danbury Baptist Association in Connecticut, and published in a Massachusetts newspaper. Jefferson wrote,
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.
Some argue that Jefferson echoes the language of the founder of the first Baptist church in America, Roger Williams who, in 1644, wrote of
[A] hedge or wall of separation between the garden of the church and the wilderness of the world.
However, when considered in context, the relationship appears questionable.
When they [the Church] have opened a gap in the hedge or wall of separation between the garden of the church and the wilderness of the world, God hath ever broke down the wall itself, removed the Candlestick, etc., and made His Garden a wilderness as it is this day. And that therefore if He will ever please to restore His garden and Paradise again, it must of necessity be walled in peculiarly unto Himself from the world, and all that be saved out of the world are to be transplanted out of the wilderness of the World.
Article Six of the United States Constitution also specifies that no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
Jefferson's metaphor of a wall of separation has been cited repeatedly by the U.S. Supreme Court. In Reynolds v. United States (1879) the Court wrote that Jefferson's comments may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the [First] Amendment. In Everson v. Board of Education (1947), Justice Hugo Black wrote: In the words of Thomas Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect a wall of separation between church and state.In contrast to separationism, the Supreme Court in Zorach v. Clauson upheld accommodationism, holding that the nation's institutions presuppose a Supreme Being and that government recognition of God does not constitute the establishment of a state church as the Constitution's authors intended to prohibit. As such, the Court has not always interpreted the constitutional principle as absolute, and the proper extent of separation between government and religion in the U.S. remains an ongoing subject of impassioned debate.

SUMMARY
=======
