History
The predecessor of our university, now nominated as Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), was founded in the XVII. century in Nagyszombat (now Trnawa in Slovakia). The first permanently operating museum of our university was implemented by Prof. Dr. Tivadar Margó in 1886. This museum was furnished in the newly opened natural history building of the university. This very rich collection/museum almost completely destroyed around the end of the Second World War in the winter of 1945 during the siege of Budapest.

Фрагмент останнього концерту італійсько-угорського туру хору «Щедрик». Головний диригент – Маріанна Сабліна. Концерт відбувся 23 липня 2018 року в базиліці Св. Михаїла в м. Веспрем, Угорщина. У рамках туру «Щедрик» дав концерти також у столиці Угорщини Будапешті та італійській Падуї. Щоби цей концерт відбувся, у день виступу колектив подолав відстань у майже 700 км від Падуї до Веспрему, загалом за 12 днів подорожі хор «Щедрик» мав 8 концертних виступів! Кульмінацією туру стала участь і тріумфальна перемога хору в конкурсі “7th Florence International Choir Festival” у Флоренції, в якому хор “Щедрик” отримав Гран-прі – статуетку “Золотого Давида” як кращий музичний колектив серед усіх учасників! “Щедрик” отримав дві золоті медалі у двох номінаціях і спеціальний приз “Найкращому диригенту”. Це була переконлива перемога українського хорового мистецтва в світовому музичному просторі. Тур організовано ГО “Міжнародний інститут культурної дипломатії” (МІКД), “ЩОБ НАС СВІТ ЗНАВ ІЗ НАШИХ ВУСТ”.
A fragment of the last concert of the Italian - Hungarian tour of Shchedryk Children’s Choir. Chief Conductor Marianna Sablina. The concert was held on July 23, 2018 in St. Michael Cathedral Basilica in Veszprem, Hungary. To make the concert happen, the choir covered 700 km from Padua to Veszprem on the day of the performance! As part of the tour, Shchedryk performed in Budapest (Hungary), Padua and Florence (Italy), among other cities, holding 8 concerts in 12 days. The tour culminated in the triumphant victory in the 7th Florence International Choir Festival where Shchedryk won a Statue of Golden David for the best group performance. Shchedryk also won two golden medals and the special award for the best conductor of the Festival. It marks a decisive victory of the Ukrainian choral school on the international musical scene. The tour was organized by Cultural Diplomacy International Institute MAKING OUR VOICE HEARD BY THE WORLD.
Holy Trinity Square Veszprém
St Michael’s Basilica stands in Szentháromság (Holy Trinity) Square, and is the first cathedral of Hungary founded by King Steven I. and Queen Gisela. The Archbishop’s Palace and the adjacent Gisella Chapel are magnificent buildings. The St George’s Chapel and the Beatified Gisela Diocese Collection keep historical and ecclesiastical treasures, well worth discovering during a pleasant stroll in the Castle.
The Salesianum Archbishopric’s Visitor Centre, which was opened in the autumn of 2011, enhances the attraction of the Castle.
In the Baroque buildings of the refurbished Castle, amongst its historic walls we can enjoy the masterpieces of contemporary Hungarian and international artists.
The Dubniczay Palace refurbished in 2006 provides a worthy home to the László Károly Collection and the Tegularium (Brick Collection).

Zamárdi község Somogy megyében a Balaton déli partján. A katolikus templom tornyában 3 harang található. A nagyharangot Gombos Lajos öntötte 2006-ban Őrbottyánban, a középső harangot Szlezák László öntötte 1924-ben Budapesten, a kisharangot Tóth Árpád öntötte 1905-ben Veszprémben.

Old town of Veszprém
The Castle District comprises the Castle itself, Óváros Tér and Vár utca, the street connecting the two, whose northern end widens into Szentháromság tér. Sights found here include the Szentháromság Column, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Michael and the Dubniczay Palace.
The Castle is located on Várhegy (Castle Hill), which has a splendid view over the city. At is northernmost point stands the statue of St. Stephen and Queen Gisela created by József Ispánki. The buildings of Pannon University, the Queen Gisela Museum and the ruins of St. George's Chapel are located nearby. At the southernmost end of the Castle you’ll find the town’s iconic Tűztorony (Fire Lookout Tower). The Hősi Kapu (Heroes’ Gate), erected to commemorate those who perished in WWI, acts as an entrance to the Castle, whose tower hosts the Castle Museum. As the cultural centre of the town, it serves as the venue of various events, and the Modern Art Gallery and Salesianum can also be found here.

In the Castle of Veszprém you can find the Trinity Statue, Castle Well, Archbishop's Palace, St. Michael's Cathedral, and King St. Stephen and his wife Blessed Gisella's statue, with magnificent view. Veszprém also known as the City of the Queens.
