Construite au XIIème siècle, la Cathédrale St-Sauveur est l’un des monuments emblématiques d’Aix-en-Provence. Elle se situe Place de l’Université, à l’emplacement d’un antique forum romain. La légende raconte qu’elle est bâtie sur les ruines d’un temple dédié à Apollon.

La Cathédrale d'Agen
La cathédrale Saint-Caprais d'Agen est inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO au titre des chemins de St-Jacques-de-Compostelle. De l'extérieur, l'édifice laisse apparaître plusieurs styles : comme souvent, le chantier a été long et compliqué. Initialement, c'est-à-dire il y a quinze siècles environ existait une basilique, détruite par les Normands en 853.
Une collégiale fut construite sur les ruines. Elle-même saccagée durant les Guerres de religion, en 1561, elle ne devint la cathédrale d'Agen qu'en 1802 après la destruction de l'ancienne cathédrale Saint-Etienne lors de la Révolution. Un passé mouvementé dont il subsiste quelques merveilles. Découvrez en particulier le riche décor peint qui raconte l'histoire du christianisme dans la région.

JMJ : Deuil des Français en Guyane
En Guyane, un tragique accident de bus a eu lieu ce mercredi 17 juillet vers 8 heures (heure locale), alors que des pèlerins JMJ de la paroisse de Saint-Léon (Paris) se rendaient en visite à la base spatiale de Kourou. Une jeune fille est décédée, 5 autres personnes sont gravement blessées, dont 2 pèlerins. Il y a également plusieurs blessés légers. A Cayenne, le Père Christophe de Lussy, délégué JMJ du diocèse de Paris, apporte les premières informations. Une cellule d'accompagnement psychologique est mise en place, et une messe sera célébrée ce soir en la cathédrale Saint-Sauveur de Cayenne par Mgr Emmanuel Lafont.
