Station Cove Falls Oconee County South Carolina Video.MOV
Before the weather started to get too hot for this Canadian girl, my husband Jason and I took a Sunday walk on the half mile nature trail at Station Cove Falls in Walhalla, SC. It is a well-groomed path through lush green vegetation of the Appalachian forests all the way to the 60 foot waterfalls. Several families were walking the trails, playing in the creek below the falls, and some even climbed to the top of the falls and shouted down to us lesser thrill seekers below. The shade of the trees helped protect us from the sun and the spray off the falls kept our skin cool for the hike back out. This is considered an easy trail and would be great for a walk with young children. Click on the link to find a trail map and directions to Station Cove Falls in Oconee County South Carolina.
Station Cove Falls, Oconee State Park, South Carolina Drone Footage
Short up and down flight at the falls. There were a lot of trees around and bad satellite signal due to the surrounding mountains so I made it a short flight. Of course it always looks better in person and I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Shot on a DJI Phantom 3 Standard.

An easy, 30-minute hike through a gorgeous Appalachian cove forest takes you to Station Cove Falls, a stepped 60-foot waterfall that forms from headwaters atop Station Mountain. In the spring and summer, countless wildflowers bloom along the trail. You may see trillium, mayapple, pink lady’s slipper orchids, bloodroot, and redbud.

It is open daily from March through November, from December to through February is open only Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The trail of Station Cove falls is located on Oconee Station Rd about 2 and 1/2 miles North of Highway 11, you will drive three tens of a mile, to the entrance of Oconee historical site on the right and the parking for the waterfall is on the left, parking for the trail is limited.
Station Cove Falls is about 70 minutes from Greenville and about 2hrs 1/2 from Atlanta, GA, there are no restrooms facilities at the trail but there are facilities at the Oconee Station historical site.

Spring at Station Cove, South Carolina
Station Cove is located on the eastern edge of Sumter National Forest near Walhalla, South Carolina. A decent trail parallels the creek for about 3/4 mile and terminates at the base of Station Cove Falls. This area is lush with plant and animal life. Human impact seems to be minimal. This is one of the cleanest trails I have been on. Again, low rainfall was a bit of an issue. It has been several years since some of these streams have had a consistent healthy flow. Directions to the falls can be found at

Upper King Creek Falls, Sumter National Forest, SC
Upper King Creek Falls, Sumter National Forest, Mountain Rest, SC. Loads of trees down near and over the falls. If we had been armed with loppers and a hand saw we could probably have cleared a bit of a hole and had a better view of the falls, but it is what it is! Shot 3/12/19

Chuckwagon and Hey Bear hike the Hidden Falls Trail at Oconee State Park near Mountain Rest South Carolina. This is a 2.1 (4+ miles round trip) mile hike beginning at the Foothills Trail terminus at Oconee State Park (the first mile or so is on the Foothills Trail) to a 60 ft. waterfall. This was our first time hiking in a drenching rain. It is a fun hike with a view of Tamassee Ridge and a beautiful waterfall at the end.

Exploring Brasstown Falls in South Carolina
Brasstown Falls, SC has more to offer than you would expect. We knew that there were a few falls in the area with a relatively short hike, but what we found far exceeded our expectations. It probably helped that the area had just seen two days of solid rain, so flow over the falls was up. You owe it to yourself to take the short, but mildly treacherous, hike to see these falls! You won't regret it.
