SOLDIERS OF THE EMPIRE is a project to remember the Indian soldiers who fought along side the British army during WW1 .
United in their mission to support the Allies' war effort, more than a million Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Gurkhas fought on many War fronts in support of the British Empire . More than 74,000 sacrificed their lives. Our performance to pay homage to these soldiers and to remember the legacy of their valuable contribution to freedom in Britain.

Scarborough - beside the seaside .......
Dedicated to the memory of Mr. Max Payne MBE - photographer, fundraiser and a gentleman - who I had the privilege to meet through this video..........
Besides being a very special seaside town and in fact 'The First Seaside Resort that ever was', has so much more to offer. Behind that much loved seaside facade there lives a rich history and a quirky culture of art, music and literature.
We visit both south and north bays dropping in to see Howard Beaumont play organ and piano at the Spa.
There's a steam train in the station from York hauling the pullman vintage carriages of the 'Scarborough Spa Express' Across the road is the famous Stephen Joseph Theatre, home of playright Alan Ayckbourn. Down the road just before we go under the Spa Bridge is the Rotunda museum of geology founded by William Smith here one can see a real neanderthal (I would like to say the ONLY ONE in Scarbourough! ha...ha )
A wander across the beach to the harbour and 'Vincents Pier' to inspect one of the Scarborough Belles about to take a plunge. A sideways glace at a bunch of pirates and we slip away towards Castle Hill and St Marys Church, admiring the spectacular views back across the bay towards the Spa. Having paid our respects at Anne Bronte's grave we climb into the 12th century castle inspect the keep and walk the ancient walls taking in the amazing views from the look-out points. Pre-dating the castle there is a Roman Signal Station right on the tip of the peninsula beween north and south bays!
'Royal Albert Park' leads us onto North Bay with its sweeping vista towards the Yorkshire Moors. When one of the magnificent cruise liners like the Queen Mary 2, choose to pay us a visit its an ideal vantage point! On the way theres the distintive white pyramids of the 'Sea Life Centre' and a lovely old hostelry for real ale drinkers 'The Old Scalby Mill'. This can be reached by train from Peasholm Park our last port of call with its chinese theme pagoda waterfall and boating lake..... There is indeed so much more beyond the seaside town of Scarborough.
The Jazz Festival has achieved great fame and is the very best anywhere! -

Scarborough Yorkshire
Scarborough Yorkshire . This video of Scarborough in Yorkshire was shot on Thursday 10.01.2013 at 8:25am at the harbour. You can see the sunrise over Scarborough Yorkshire harbour on a very cold yet sunny January morning. As the shot moves round you can see Scarborough Castle and in the distance the Luna Amusement Park. You can see the cafes that line Foreshore Road in Scarborough that are lovely to sit outside and have a coffee while taking in this lovely view across Scarborough Yorkshire. You can park you car in the West Pier car park in Scarborough Yorkshire that is just to the right of where this video was shot and is also very close to all the amusements Scarborough Yorkshire has to offer. Just opposite the West Pier car park is a steep hill that leads up to the town centre of Scarborough Yorkshire where you will pass many novelty and gift shops. As you go further up the town you will reach the main shopping centre of Scarborough Yorkshire where the popular Brunswick Shopping Centre is located. If you keep going up the town you will eventually reach the Scarborough Yorkshire train station and the famous Stephen Joseph Theatre in the round where you can take in a show. If you choose not to walk up the hill and you head towards the Luna Park that you can see in the video you will walk towards the Marine Drive which is the road that links the two beaches in Scarborough Yorkshire, it is a lovely walk round the Marine Drive to get to the North Bay Beach from the South Bay Beach of Scarborough Yorkshire where this video is shot.

Alan Ayckbourn on Birthdays Past, Birthdays Present
Hear all about the latest play from Alan Ayckbourn himself.
As ingenious in its construction as any of his previous plays, Birthdays Past, Birthdays Present is his 83rd play, premiering in his 80th birthday year.
It’s Mickey’s 80th birthday and he and his wife Meg are awaiting the arrival of their son, Adrian, and his new (and latest!) fiancée, Grace.
Adrian has, according to his parents, a certain reputation regarding women and they feel meek, mild-mannered Grace should surely be warned of this. But are things really as they appear? Be prepared, as birthday follows birthday, to be amazed as the truth is finally revealed about Adrian, the suburban closet Lothario!

Taking Steps by Alan Ayckbourn
★★★★
“Genuinely funny… everyone in the cast performed with impeccable comic timing” - Northern Soul
“An ingenious comedy with a savage undertone… a great piece of intelligent entertainment” - The Times
“Make sure you take steps to see this superbly directed, exquisitely performed Ayckbourn classic” - The Press (York)
“…the laughs come thick and fast” - British Theatre Guide
“This is farce at its wickedly funny best by a master of the craft” - Scarborough News
“…cleverly cast, beautifully paced, unfailingly ingenious and very funny” - The Reviews Hub
Misunderstandings multiply and play out in every corner of a crumbling three-storey house.
In 1979 on the original opening night of Alan Ayckbourn’s brilliantly clever and outrageously funny farce, the laughter was so loud it broke the theatre’s tannoy system.
