U.S. Border Patrol Interferes With Fishermen In Canadian Waters
Reuters reports that crew members of two Canadian fishing vessels were approached by the United States border patrol in Canadian waters in the Gulf of Maine in late June. This according to the Canadian government, which is investigating the matter.
John Babcock, a spokesman for Global Affairs Canada said on Wednesday, “Canada continues to investigate these incidents that occurred in Canadian waters, including through engaging with U.S. agencies involved in the matter.
Babcock said the incidents occurred on June 24 and June 25 near Machias Seal Island.

Jan 3 2016 sinkhole in Benton Park footage v1
This is Part 1 of 2 videos I took of a Benton Park sinkhole. It seems this hole opened up around Christmas Day of 2015. I filmed it January 3rd 2016. It is all the raw complete footage, about 5 plus minutes. There was no viewfinder and the camera was on the end of a long pole so I could not film in a conventional manner. Also, I went back at night during the Super Bowl evening with a friend with a weight on a cord but cannot find that footage or the media card it was on. When I do I will be happy to join the two together and report this video. Below is some information about the storm.

Flooding[edit]
The storm system was responsible for heavy rain that caused severe flooding in 13 states, with Missouri being especially impacted.[14][15] Parts of the state were hit with over 10 in (0.25 m) of heavy rainfall.[6] At least 14 people died due to the floods in Missouri alone.[16] In Union, Missouri, the Bourbeuse River rose to 34.22 ft (10.43 m), above the preceding record of 33.79 ft (10.30 m) which occurred on December 5, 1982.[15][17][18][19] More than 180 roads, including portions of Interstates 44, 55, and 70, and several bridges were closed.[20][21] The Meramec River, near St. Louis, crested 2 ft (0.61 m) above its previous record height, inundating nearby communities. At least 380 homes and 70 businesses were flooded in Franklin County.[20]
Approximately 140,000 sandbags were brought in to protect portions of the Bayshore subdivision in Arnold. At least 150 homes succumbed to flooding in the city.[20] More than 100 boat rescues were conducted in Eureka.[22]
Major flooding also occurred in south Alabama, where the Pea River in Elba, Alabama flooded. Most of the rainfall occurred on Christmas Eve day when training thunderstorms went over the same areas. All in all, a widespread 8-16 inches occurred.
Nine levees were topped—five along the Mississippi River, three along the Missouri River, and one along the Kaskaskia River—though the affected areas were predominantly unpopulated.[22][23] Large stretches of the Mississippi River were placed on alert due to projected major flooding.[24]
Flash flooding also claimed seven lives in Illinois, two in Oklahoma, one in Arkansas, and one in Georgia.[

The Bridge:
The Mystic River Bascule Bridge is a bascule bridge spanning the Mystic River in Mystic, Connecticut in the United States. It carries vehicle and foot traffic directly into the tourist district of town via 33 ft-wide Main Street (U.S. Route 1).
The Strauss Heel-trunnion type bridge was designed by former Otis Elevator Company Chief Engineer Thomas Ellis Brown of New York and built in 1920 by the J. E. FitzGerald Construction Company of New London, Connecticut, according to its historical marker. Its movable span is 85 ft (26 m) wide, 218 ft (66 m) long, weighs 660 short tons (589 long tons; 599 t), and employs two 230 short tons (205 long tons; 209 t) concrete-filled counterweights. Until 1928, the bridge carried streetcars of the Groton and Stonington Street Railway.
It is operated by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and offers and opens for approximately five minutes around 2,200 times per year, carrying an average daily traffic of 11,800. Driven by two 1,400 pounds (640 kg) 40 horsepower (30 kW) direct current motors, its span is greased and inspected every 100 openings or two weeks during the winter. From May 1 to October 31 the bridge opens hourly during daylight at 40 minutes past the hour and on demand.
Mystic is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in New London County, Connecticut, in the United States. The population was 4,205 at the 2010 census.[1] Mystic has no independent government because it is not a legally recognized municipality in the state of Connecticut. Rather, Mystic is located within the towns of Groton (west of the Mystic River, and also known as West Mystic) and Stonington (east of the Mystic River).

Historically, Mystic was a leading seaport of the area, and the story of Mystic's nautical connection is told at Mystic Seaport, the nation's largest maritime museum,[citation needed] which has preserved a number of sailing ships (most notably the whaleship Charles W. The Mystic River Bascule Bridge crosses the river in the center of the village.
