Ghosts: Stirling Castle
Location Information -
There are, as you can imagine, a few stories of paranormal significance with regards to the location. We have the pink lady, who is said to walk between the castle and nearby church at Lady's Rock. Local stories have it that this particular phantom figure could be that of a former occupant who escaped while the castle was under siege by Edward the first in 1304. She is said to walk the area in search of her husband who may have perished in said siege.

Haunted Stirling Castle Scotland 1997
The Elphinstone Tower is said to be the most haunted area of Stirling Castle where ghosts talk of Lady Guinevere and threats are made. Voices thoughout the tower, castle and graveyard remind us of battles, death and everyday life. A purring was heard, perhaps the King's pet lion.

See inside the stunning historical Stirling Castle and Mary Queen of Scots bedroom.
Stirling Castle was the childhood Home of Mary Queen of Scots and Robert the Bruce was made famous in the film Braveheart by Angus Macfadyen. Many battles have taken place at Stirling and it is said that, Whoever controls Stirling, controls Scotland. Stirling was once the capital of Scotland, it is now Edinburgh.
The castle is a fabulous place to visit with family members and a free tour is included with your ticket price. Plenty to see with artillery rooms, underground halls, interactive games, medieval costumes, gardens and cafe.
Ghosts:The castle is said to be haunted by the lonely Green lady and the Kilted Highlander --- be warned. If you are visiting many historic Scotland sites, like Stirling Castle then you should consider buying a historic Scotland explorer pass.
Our next stop was the Wallace Monument, this is an amazing piece of architecture from 1869 and stands 220ft high. The staircases are very narrow and if someone in your group does not think they can manage, there is a comfy waiting room at the entrance. Tickets can be bought at the visitor centre or at the entrance to the monument. We enjoyed the 15 min walk through the woods.
Finally the Kelpies are stunning architecture gems. They are surrounded by water in the working canal system of Falkirk. If visiting Falkirk for the day, I highly recommend the Falkirk Wheel, a feat of engineering. Children will love the Bo'ness Railway and historians will love the Antoine Wall and Kinneil estate. The Kelpies are free and are lit up at night different colours. Red was in support of head, and neck cancer awareness. Green for St Patricks day etc.
There are two car parks, the closes car park , you pay for and the one 5 min away is free.
