Mongolian Riding Tours with Stone Horse Expeditions and Travel - Dana
Dana and friends joined on an early September horseback riding tour in the Gorkhi-Terelj National park, Mongolia.
The autumn colors on this Mongolian horse trekking expedition were spectacular this year. It was a most beautiful time to travel through the park and wilderness.

Wilderness Conservation Horseback Adventure in Mongolia - Stone Horse Expeditions
Stone Horse Expeditions are unique riding adventures in Mongolia. The Wilderness Conservation Adventure is dedicated to help protect the wild places we travel in - the Khentii Mountains of Mongolia. Working with the park authorities, the Stone Horse Expedition team and riding guests venture into the wilderness to help with environmental work and visitor management. This purpose adds to the great riding adventure, exploring Hagiin Har Nuur (Black Lichen Lake), crossing rivers and a high alpine pass, travelling on horseback down the Tuul River, while enjoying the great Mongolian horses, scenic campsites, great expedition food and the company of fellow conservation adventure riders.
Mongolia Horse Riding - Darkhid Valley Summer Tour
The Darkhid Valley is located an hour's drive from Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Stone Horse Expeditions & Travel operate out of this valley. It is here where the horseback riding expeditions into Gorkhi Terelj National Park and The Khentie Mountain wilderness start. Learn more about this Riding Adventure in Mongolia at stonehorsemongolia.com, and find out about the Mongolian family ger stay with Yadmaa and Davasuren, traditional livestock herders in Mongolia. Enjoy the images of the pastures, wildflowers and of a summer day in the Darkhid valley - as much as the horses enjoy the green grasses and herbs.
Mongolia Horseback Adventure Tours - Kim's Comments on Stone Horse Travel in Mongolia
Kim, from Colorado, USA, joined the early September horse riding expedition into the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, Mongolia. Although she hadn't ridden a horse in some years, she took to it like a pro. The early autumn colors and landscape scenery were fantastic and the weather was the best for the season.
Mongolian National Park Horse Riding Tours with Stone Horse Expeditions and Travel
Mergen came on the early August trip 2012, a beautiful time of year to travel by horseback in the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, Mongolia. He was great company and being his own backyard so to speak, he enjoyed cruising around the park away from cell phones, computers and city life.
Horse Trek in Mongolia | 4 day tour
#9 Kelit vaihtelevat paljon, joten lämmin kerrospukeutuminen on suositeltavaa.
#12 Vaelluksen varrella nukutaan paimentolaisperheiden jurtissa.

Mongolia solo horse trekking
Shot on the 4k Action Cam from Sony. Check it out at
Overcoming a fear of horses I travelled to Mongolia to purchase some horses and teach myself how to ride solo through the mountains. With little communication other than hand gestures and a sketch book made my travels very interesting. With the kindness of the Kazakh and Mongolian I got taught falconry from the eagle hunters and horse mastery.

Horse Riding Tour in Mongolia | Travel Mongolia
Horse Riding in Mongolia is a HUGE item on Ed's Bucketlist. Luckily we were able to cross it off while we were travelling with Dragoman Tours!
Horseback riding for the two of us with our own guide was around $25. It SO worth it. As we started the horse riding lesson our guide led the horses so we felt totally safe. As we became confident throughout the horse riding lesson our guide took off the lead and let us walk and trot comfortably

We took this lesson at the Tsenkher hot springs. It definitely feels like a secret Mongolian spot that only locals know about. We were very fortunate to visit.
Prior to the lesson, we were able to visit a Mongolian family that live the nomad lifestyle. The Tsenkher hot springs is an incredible spot to visit if you travel in Mongolia. It's one of the main stops on the Dragoman Mongolia tour that we are on. It's truly beautiful here. I can imagine it's somewhere that old mate Genghis Khan would want to visit.
FULL PLAYLIST:
Mongolia is a country like no other. It's like travelling back in time. With a population of only 3 million - half of which live in the only major city (Ulan-Bator) - Mongolia can be difficult to travel. With this in mind, we jumped on a tour with a UK based company - Dragoman Overland. It was SO worth it. These guys were great. We can't imagine seeing and experiencing Mongolia any other way.

Horse Trekking through Khoridol Saridag and Khovsgol Lake, Mongolia
Two amazing weeks in Northern Mongolia through the mountains of Khoridol Saridag to Khovsgol Nuur. We had arrived there after travelling overland from Singapore to Mongolian border, we hitched across and made our way to Ulaanbaatar and then via Moron into the mountains. Yuin and Dawn joined the adventure and showed us how to play hacky sack. Urnaa from Wind Horse Travels organized a great tour for us and made sure, we came back happy and impressed to Ulaanbaatar.

A Mongolia Documentary: Naadam Festival, Nomadic Lifestyle, Interviews, and a JOURNEY of a lifetime!
This documentary takes you on an adventure to learn and experience Mongolia and its native culture. About one third of Mongolian’s 3 million people live as nomads and are scattered throughout the country.
We drove into the mountains and off the road to find the nomadic family we were going to stay with. We spent countless nights experiencing the outdoor beauty of a nomadic lifestyle and the day to day life of its people. In this Mongolian Documentary, you will find a focus on their biggest festival of the year: Naadam.
Naadam celebrates the nomadic lifestyle of Mongolia through three main sports’ competitions: Archery, Wrestling, and Horse back riding. These sports are key to the success of the Mongolian battles throughout history and are still part of the celebrated culture today. The biggest festival is in the capital UB but the less touristy Naadams are held in all the villages and provinces spread out through the country during July.
This adventure through Mongolia is by far the most authentic experience I have had on any trip and I am proud and excited to share this video with all of you!
I want to give a big thank you to Gregg Mikolasek for helping me plan this trip and for the drone Aerial footage used in this video! A big thank you to Ganerdene yuljinsenge for being an amazing tour as well! None of this could have been done with out you two.

Exploring Terelj NP on Horse Back | Terelj National Park, Mongolia
Day two in Terelj NP is a wet one! Although Mongolia is known for blue skies most of the year - we were unfortunate (or fortunate?) enough to experience torrential downpour! That didn't stop us though - we had lots we needed to explore as well as visiting a local nomadic Mongolian family! The rain in the evening thankfully cleared though and we got to ride a horse through the National Park.

Mongolia Horse Trek: Incredible Experience of a Lifetime!
In the summer of 2015 my friends and I were invited by our friends in Mongolia to go on a day of hunting and horse riding in the national park outside of Ulaanbaatar. We left early in the morning and were supported by a large team of hunters, chefs, horsemen who prepared our base camp and our meals. It was a wonderful day and so memorable. Not only experiencing nature of Mongolia but feeling the generosity and the kindness and love of the Mongolian people. I loved every minute of it. Everyone should go to Mongolia at least once in their lifetime and experience the nature and their people. The music is by Mongol Band. The song is 'Praise of Mandul Khan'. I downloaded it from iTunes. If a member of Mongol Band would like to contact me I would be prepared to license the song for this video.
