Storforsen in Sweden - one of the biggest rapids in Europe
Amazing and poweful combination of waterfall and river (rapid) located in Norrboten (northernmost county of Sweden). What a worth visiting place!
Storforsen Waterfall - 12.07.2015
Storforsen is the largest free-flowing rapids in the Pite River in the Swedish county of Norrbottens län - approximately 40 km northwest of Älvsbyn. It is one of the biggest rapids in Europe. The Fall distance is 5 kilometers and fall height 82 metres. The last two kilometers, the river falls 60 metres. To prevent accidents the rocks surrounding the rapids are fenced, views being readily accessible to the public via ramps. The surroundings are part of a nature park.
