Russian Federation Aircraft Returning From Syria
A Russian Federation Air Force Tu-22M3 returned to Murmansk after completing its Syria mission. The crews completed their flight from an airfield in North Ossetia to their permanent base. The An-72 military transport aircraft returned to the Saratov region from the Hmeymim airbase. Pilots of a Tu-22M3, which flew in from Syria, were met by relatives and colleagues in the Kaluga region. The military pilots, who participated in the operation of the Russian Federation Air Force, returned to the Irkutsk region.

MAKS 2017 - Svetlana Kapanina, crazy plane stunts! - HD 50fps
This is an extreme and very demanding flight display performed by russian legendary aerobatic pilot Svetlana Kapanina on the past July 21st at MAKS 2017 airshow in Zhukovskiy, Moscow.
On this occasion she is flying with a german Extra 300 aerobatic aircraft. Among other especial maneuvers and precise tail-slides, Svetlana is demonstrating fast rolling circles (5:33) which is a maneuver typical of the radiocontrolled-aircraft world but seldom performed in full scale aircraft as it is extremely demanding of the pilot from a physical point of view.
Svetlana Vladimirovna Kapanina (Светлана Владимировна Капанина) was born on 22 December 1968 in Shchuchinsk, Kazakh SSR, Soviet Union, now Kazakhstan. She dedicated herself to several sports modalities at school and always liked motorcycles and other motor vehicles. She enrolled at medical school in Tselinograd, now Astana, where she graduated in pharmaceutical sciences. She started flying at age 19, in 1988, on a Sukhoi Su-26M3, while working as a technician at the Kurgan sports aviation club of DOSAAF. By 1991 she was already an instructor pilot at DOSAAF's Irkutsk club, and then back at Kurgan. Also in 1991, she became a member of the Russian national aerobatic team. In 1995 she graduated from Kaluga aeronautical technical school.
Kapanina was World Aerobatic Champion in the women's category in 1996, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2011 and has won the title more times than any other pilot in the category. Additionally, she was overall World Air Games Champion in 1997 and 2001.
Together with Mikhail Mamistov and Oleg Spolyansky, she won the team gold medal in the 16th FAI European Aerobatic Championships 2008 in Hradec Králové (Czech Republic). She placed fourth overall and was best female participant.
In 1997, she received the Paul Tissandier Diploma by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI). In 2005 she was awarded the Sabiha Gökçen Medal and the Centenary Medal by the FAI. She was awarded Russia's Order of Courage by President Vladimir Putin on 22 December 2014.
Nowadays, she lives in Moscow with her husband and two children.

US Hypersonic Aircraft Will Not Catch Russia Flat Footed

Speedy as they are, moving at about 6 kilometers a second (3.7 miles a second), the US hypersonic aircraft are still not fast enough to avoid the eagle eyes of Russia’s missile attack warning system.
The all-new Voronezh-class radar stations are able to spot and track America’s hypersonic aircraft designed to bypass Russia’s missile warning system. Until very recently the trajectories of these “fast runners” were impossible to register, much less to track.
Right now the Pentagon is developing several hypersonic vehicles as part of the DARPA Falcon Project. The Advanced Hypersonic Weapon (AHW), which accelerated to about 6 kilometers a second during flight tests in 2015 and 2016, is in the final stages of development now.
A US hypersonic glider is carried by a rocket booster into outer space. It then separates from the launch vehicle, speeds up, levels out and glides about 100 miles above the sea level. It maneuvers its way to the target and then swoops down, unseen by radars on the ground, designed to spot higher-flying ICBMs,” Dmitry Kornev, editor-in-chief of Militaryrussia Online, told Izvestia.
Russia’s Voronezh phased array early warning radars, working in the centimeter and decimeter range, are able to spot targets up to 4,000 kilometers (almost 2,500 miles) away and at altitudes of up to 8,000 kilometers (almost 5,000 miles).
“Our Voronezh radars are able to ‘see’ any present and future means of aerospace attack thousands of kilometers away,” Dmitry Stupin, deputy chief designer at Radio-Technical and Information Systems Concern, said in an interview with Izvestia.
He also mentioned the Voronezh radar stations’ impressive modernization potential to ensure 100-percent security of the country’s airspace.
A Voronezh radar station is a fairly miniature facility consisting of a sail-shaped antenna array and several containers with electronics. It takes just 18 months to build, is manned by a crew of 15 and costs around 1.5 billion rubles ($26.4 million) to build.
Voronezh-class radar stations are currently deployed along the entire length of the Russian border. The one in Irkutsk keeps an eye on the airspace stretching from China to the West Coast of the United States.
The one in Kaliningrad region covers the area from Britain to the US East Coast and the one in Krasnodar region is capable of registering missile launches in the Middle East, Southern Europe, the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa.
Voronezh radars now being built in Krasnoyarsk and Orenburg regions and near Murmansk will effectively protect Russia against possible missile strikes from the southeast and the Arctic.
