Indian Trail Councilman to Resident: Don't waste our time!
Indian Trail Councilman, Chris King, responded to a resident who made a public information request about an upcoming budget. Other residents have made similar requests that town hall finds objectionable and have made several overtures to. Indian Trail established a ordinance stating that certain information belongs to the town council, not the public, and that only by a majority vote of the council will certain information be released, if they determine the individual(s) are worthy enough or have a need to know.

Arizona and New Mexico
Two bordering states in these United States. Both are in the heart of the American Southwest.
Both are about the same size...New Mexico is just slightly bigger. However, Arizona has more than three times as many people, and it’s growing at a higher rate. In fact, Arizona is one of the fastest growing states in the country, while New Mexico is definitely not.
A big reason why is Phoenix, which is the fifth biggest city in the country. Phoenix attracts all the concerts, all the professional sports teams, all the best comedians, and all the best indie films in theaters that people think they’re cool for seeing.
Arizona also has Tucson, which has a larger metropolitan population than New Mexico’s biggest city, Alburquerque. Still, it has an amazing balloon festival called the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Plus Albuquerque is a way cooler name for a city. I just love saying it.
Both states are known for their deserts, for both are two of the driest states in the country. However, both have these little areas that get higher rainfall due to having a higher elevation.
Due to these elevation differences, both do have some climate variation. I mean, Arizona has the high plateau in the northeast part of the state, the mountainous region that runs from the northwest to southeast, and the low ranges and desert valleys down in the southwestern part. Its biggest desert is the Sonoran. The Chihuahuan Desert is the big one in New Mexico, and it even creeps into Arizona. New Mexico also has the Rocky Mountains in the north, the Great Plains in the east, and basically high plateau throughout the rest of the state. Where the elevation is high, they also tend to get four seasons. Otherwise, folks have been moving to both states for decades due to their mild winters and generally beautiful weather. Or at least snowbirds just head down there for the winter.

These ancient American relics remain unexplained.
A centuries-old stone wall, stretching for miles; enormous pictures scratched into the ground of a desert; rocks arranged in a circle. You know what these landmarks are, right?
Guess again. Instead of the Great Wall of China or Stonehenge, these are all ancient American ruins and landmarks. Death Valley National Park Road Trip - How You DON'T Want It To End
Death Valley National Park Road Trip
If you're not a big fan of the heat, but want to know what it's like inside Death Valley, this Death Valley tour video might help. This is the road trip my friend and I took just before summer.

Death Valley is one of the hottest places in the world. It’s also a short 4 hour drive away from Los Angeles. With summer approaching, I wanted to take a road trip out to Death Valley before it got too hot.
My friend Bobby went with me. Neither of us had been, yet. We were only there two days yet I’d say we did learn how to road trip Death Valley successfully by failing at a few things first.
Here are some basic tips to get you started:
Bring a hat, sunscreen, and lots of water. And make sure you are 100% confident in whatever car you are taking out there. The conditions are rough. There’s virtually no cell phone service and no relief from the sun if you get stranded. Also, Death Valley camping is a thing, but I suggesting you know what you're doing. Because we wanted to make things simple, we just stayed in a motel in Beatty, right outside the park.
As I said, we planned on making this road trip to Death Valley a simple one, but it turned out to be the opposite of that because of car trouble. I had to get my car towed. I’ll let the video explain that.
Here are some more tips if you’re traveling to Death Valley:
What to see when visiting Death Valley:
-Father Crowley Vista
-Rhyolite Ghost Town
-Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes
-Badwater Basin
-Devil’s Golf Course
-Artist’s Drive
-Artist’s Palette
-Zabriskie Point (I don't know for certain, but this seemed to be a popular Las Vegas to Death Valley tour route destination. It was super crowded with lots of tour buses and people pouring out.)
-Dante’s View
My favorites:
Badwater Basin, Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Artist’s Drive/Palette
Devil’s Golf Course was pretty cool too. But mainly just because it’s fun to walk on. It’s razor sharp though.
Also, If you road trip Death Valley, consider the car you bring because there are certain roads that are only good for high clearance vehicles. Most of top sights are all accessible via paved roads, but there are a few (like the Race Track) that aren’t.
Where to stay in Death Valley:
We stayed overnight in a town called Beatty. It’s right outside the east edge of Death Valley and much cheaper. There are also some town-like areas (used town very loosely) inside the park with hotels, cottages, and camp grounds. Consider staying in Furnace Creek, Stovepipe Wells, or Panamint Springs. If you're looking for hotels near Death Valley, you don't have many options. I'd say Lone Pine to the west and Beatty to the east are your best options. Death Valley camping sites can be found all over the park. But again, make sure you know what you're doing and go in a cooler month.
We went in May to beat the heat, but it didn’t work. Death Valley weather is crazy. It was 110 and 111 the days we were there. The week before the weather was in the 90’s. The NP website actually says May is usually when it starts getting too hot for visitors.
I hope you enjoy watching our Death Valley tour via video. It was definitely quite the experience.

Walking behind “Dry Falls” in Nantahala National Forest, near Highlands, North Carolina (10-14-15)
Dry Falls gives you the rare treat of walking safely behind a waterfall. This 75-foot tall waterfall in the Nantahala National Forest flows over an overhanging cliff, allowing you to walk behind the falls and stay dry (hence the name). During rainy spells when the water volume is higher, the spray will prevent you from staying totally dry.
Located roadside on U.S. Highway 64, everyone can enjoy the view from a fully accessible observation area adjacent to the parking area. It's an easy walk down the trail to reach the falls. While the view is nice from the roadside observation deck, the real treat is getting a closer look by climbing down the stairs and short path. There are many great vantage points along the way for photos. You may be able to see a rainbow if you and the sun are in the right position. The spray from the falls may get you wet when you walk behind it, so have somewhere to hide your camera or anything you don't want to get wet. But it’s usually just a little mist.
Dry Falls flows on the Cullasaja River through the Nantahala National Forest. It is part of a series of waterfalls on an 8.7-mile (14 km) stretch of the river that eventually ends with Cullasaja Falls. In the narrow and deep Cullasaja Gorge, the Cullasaja River rushes and drops in a series of cascades and waterfalls to the Tennessee River near Franklin. A two-lane highway called Mountain Waters Scenic Byway, which is the combined route of U.S. 64 and NC 28, runs through the Cullasaja Gorge, which is mostly protected as part of the Nantahala National Forest.
The U.S. Forest Service has designated this to be a National Scenic Byway because of the river, and its numerous waterfalls. The highway clings to the north bank of the Cullasaja River. Though the road is narrow and the curves are frequent and sharp, it can be a fun and beautiful drive. There are many places to pull off, get out and enjoy the views of the river.

Of course, Interstate 10 goes further then just California. Welcome to the first video in Arizona! This time, we're covering I-10 from State Line to Phoenix, piggybacking off many historic routes. We enter in from California cosigned with US 95, which leaves us in Quartzsite. We continue to follow the path of US 60 and 70 from California, with both leaving at the Wickenburg Cutoff - the modern Western Terminus of US 60. I-10 then travels a pretty recent addition to the state highways system in Arizona that was never a historic route before Historic US 80 joins us at the State Route 85 junction.
Once again traversing the Sonoran Desert, this road is long and empty, with only a handful of exits before reaching Phoenix. Most of these exits have been recent additions in the newer suburban neighborhoods of Phoenix, including Buckeye, Goodyear, and Avondale.

Trailer park millionaires
Some of the richest people in the US, including billionaires Warren Buffett and Sam Zell, have made millions from trailer parks at the expense of the country's poorest people. Seeing their success, ordinary people from across the country are now trying to follow in their footsteps and become trailer park millionaires. The Guardian went to Orlando to learn the tricks of the trade from Frank Rolfe, the self-appointed dean of Mobile Home University, as he led would-be investors around a trailer park for sex offenders.
