Praia da Bolina Beach in Estoril - Surfing in Cascais Portugal - Discover where to surf in Portugal
Spot Nº 3 - Bolina beach surf break in Estoril Portugal
I am so lucky to have a spot like this just 2 minutes drive from my house! This spot is excellent but only works between October and March. So don't get your hopes up if you come to Bolina in the summer, because it will be as flat as a lake. You can park your car at praia da Poça and walk to Tamariz. On your way you will find a Bar called Bolina, then look towards the sea and it's there.
This was definitely a memorable session with legends in the water like Vasco Ribeiro and Tiago Pires (Saca) steeling the show.
Where to eat in the neighbourhood:
*Lamassa* (Romantic dinner for two)
R. J A Ferreira 121, 2765-232 Estoril

Carcavelos beach on steroids - Discover where to surf and skate from Portugal to Morocco.
Carcavelos beach is one of the finest beaches of the Lisbon coastline, and due to the public transport, is by far the most popular and has many restaurants and bars.
Basically it's always pretty crowded except on bigger winter days (just like yesterday October 15 2018). Carcavelos is the first wide, sandy beach on the Lisbon - Cascais coast. From Lisbon you just take the Marginal to cascais, this is a freeway along the coast, you keep to this road for 15-20 minutes and after passing the NATO base and the fort you should see Carcavelos beach comming up on your left.
Carcavelos was, until 2013, a civil parish in the Portuguese municipality of Cascais, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west of Lisbon. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Carcavelos e Parede. The parish was known for the Carcavelos wine. With the decline of the wine-making industry in the region, the attractiveness of its beaches have made the parish a destination for surfing, owing to ocean conditions.
At the mouth of the Tagus River and east of the main beach is the fortification of Fort of São Julião da Barra. It was used to protect the Tagus from enemy ships, but in the 20th-century it became the official summer residence of the Minister of Defense.

Salty Pelican Yoga & Surf Retreat - Cascais
I love yoga and I was looking to travel Portugal. I found about these retreat through Bookyogaretreats.com. I had no expectations before travelling. I was looking for more information about the hostel and the time I would spend there.
The whole experience was amazing, each day was filled with different activities. I booked for 8 days of yoga & surf retreat. Later when I got there I wanted to try more than what I had in my package and it was easy to break the package and just added new activities like Stand up paddling, meditation and hike, day tours etc.
I have tried capturing the basic information on my stay and travel in Salty pelican Cascais. I had a lot of fun and the whole experience was beyond imagination. I would definitely recommend trying one of these retreats.
They did Yin and Yang yoga in the mornings and noon. They provide really good yoga mat and the block so it was okay that I didn't take my personal one. I did morning yoga almost everyday but I skipped most of the yang yoga in the noon because I was always out exploring lisbon and the other cities.
Sonya and Sana did the yoga classes and both were good.
Breakfast they offered was pretty neat and consistent. I liked the idea of having breakfast with everyone in the morning. It was one of the way to connect with people and new housemates.
Moana Surf School provides the lesson for surfing. All the surfers were very good and helpful with the lesson.
Stand up paddling was taught by a bay-watcher name Pedro - local guy in Cascais. For me he was a very good teacher. :)
The best part among all other experiences were meeting people from different countries and sharing one of the best experiences with each one of them. I miss the time I spent with them. Most of the people I met were like minded and open to new things.
