Surf Camp in Saint Augustine
Surf Station's Surf Camp teaches kids how to surf every summer in Saint Augustine Florida. We offer co-ed camps in Anastasia State Park and Crescent Beach and we reserve a few weeks out of the summer for our all girls camps. With years of experience teaching, surfing and being in the ocean, our CPR certified instructors start with the basics and tailor instruction to fit a student's needs.

31 Days / 31 Ways: The Girl Next Door Surf Classic
Day 24 was spent at Anastasia State Park with 60 or so talented female surfers from all over the US who competed in The 2009 Girl Next Door Surf Classic. It was a lovely, sunny day filled with fun surf and lots of smiles. We were fortunate enough to get to spend a bit of time hanging with East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame member Mimi Monroe who continues to show us all what stylish surfing looks like.
31 days/ 31 ways is a journey in hometown adventure. I will surf each day in October and will try out a different wave-riding device with some of my favorite friends, sources of inspiration, and perhaps a few strangers. We'll document our experiences through video, photos, and words. Each day will be about sharing the wondrous experience of riding waves, the beauty of being in the ocean, and the importance of doing what you love.

ALLAMBIE HEIGHTS - Let's hear from the locals | Call 0424006855
Allambie Heights:
Set just 17kms from the CBD of Sydney, Allambie Heights is characterised by its peaceful leafy streets, beautiful reserves, tranquil waterfalls and close proximity to Manly Dam and a selection of fantastic surf and harbourside beaches. Allambie Heights is one of the few areas in Sydney that has not been spoilt by large apartment blocks. Most of the suburb is made up of houses set on spacious blocks of land. A good portion of these also enjoy spectacular views and are surrounded in great wildlife.
The people in Allambie Heights make living here particularly special, especially for those with children. I can vouch for this myself. There is no shortage of friendly faces and the people here have a great community spirit. The peaceful streets are lined with kids playing and sharing backyards and pools like they did in the old days. Many residents also hold regular neighbourhood barbeques, annual street parties and enjoy a good social life within the neighbourhood.
For shopping and dining there is a good local shopping village with a handy selection of stores and eateries, including an IGA supermarket, various award winning cafes and restaurants, a florist, hairdresser, butcher, bakery and newsagency. Or for more extensive shopping there is Warringah Mall, which is home to several department stores, supermarkets, a movie cinema, a library and an expansive food court.
For sport and recreation the choices on offer should motivate even the laziest of us to get out and enjoy the outdoors. There are many beautiful walking trails, bike tracks, water sports on Manly Dam, a wide range of sporting groups, Virgin Active Health Club, Warringah Aquatic Centre...and of course there are incredible surfing beaches just moments away.
For schooling there are many brilliant options available. There is a local public school which has a great reputation, various well renowned Catholic schools including St Kieran's primary, St Augustine's and Stella Maris College just moments away. There is a local TAFE down the road in Brookvale. There is a school for children with special needs. Plus there is a wide range of world class schools, both private and public in the Forest area and on the Northern Beaches that are very easily accessed from Allambie Heights.
For transport, Allambie Heights is very well accommodated. State Transit and Forest Coach Lines buses operate frequently in peak periods and provide a link to the CBD, including the E70 which is an express service. There is Manly Wharf close-by which offers both regular and express ferry services to the city. Roseville Station is about fifteen minutes' drive away and provides locals with access to frequent train services which operate on the Northern Line.
So as you can see, Allambie Heights is truly a great place to live. For many years it was a bit of hidden secret, but those days are long gone. The area is now in high demand and whilst properties are still reasonably affordable, it is clear it will not stay this way for much longer. Just like me, people are pouring money into Allambie Heights and are experiencing solid growth. This is why Allambie Heights is my number one pick for value for money homes on the Northern Beaches.
For further information about Allambie Heights you can contact me on 0424 006 855. Or check out our website at: northernbeachesrealestateagent.com.au
I can't wait to speak to you soon and welcoming you to this magical suburb called Allambie Heights.

MYAKKA RIVER STATE PARK & CAMPGROUND SARASOTA RV TRIP
Myakka River State Park and Campground near Sarasota Florida.
A special moment, frozen in time, in a special place, The canopy suspension bridge: you can venture across the “canopy trail,” a high bridge to nowhere with a tower that takes you above the trees for an amazing view of the surrounding wilderness, a dense forest pockmarked with wetlands and small meadows.
.With all of its activities, Myakka River State Park makes a great base for extended camping stays, and demand is high for this popular park.
A new campground, Palmetto Ridge, was opened during the 2011-12 winter season at Myakka River State Park, adding 42 campsites with gravel pads and full hookups, obviously geared to RVs. Also has 10 pull-through sites for campers with big rigs.
The two older campgrounds – Big Flats (sites 1-26) and Old Prairie (sites 27-48) – are more rustic and have been modified somewhat to provide a little more space between sites, but none of the older sites have sewer hookups, only water and electric, making them tent-friendly. (There are dump stations and restrooms at each campground.)
When the park’s campgrounds were originally constructed back in the 1960s, little thought was given to the large RV’s we see today, so the older sites are well-shaded within oak hammocks, ideal for the more compact requirements of tent campers.
Of the two older campgrounds, Big Flats is the better choice for tents and tent-campers. It is the shadiest campground, and there is more space between sites. Another advantage to Big Flats — it’s closer to the Myakka Outpost concession.
Of the two campgrounds at the southern end of the park, Old Prairie has more Old Florida charm and benefits from being located in a more shady, mature forest than the newer Palmetto Ridge.
There also five palm-log cabins available for overnight rentals (minimum two nights on weekends). The cabins were built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a Depression-era work project that is largely responsible for the establishment of the Florida State Parks system.
Other things to do at Myakka River State Park
Other activities include picnicking, fishing, equestrian facilities and trails, and airboat rides are offered at the park concession, the Myakka Outpost, which is at the foot of Upper Myakka Lake, just off the main park road.
Airboat rides: These are large tour boats, not the noisy, four-person craft you see skidding across the Everglades. And if you fear the noise will keep you away, no worries. It’s quiet enough for the guide to talk through the onboard sound system. The airboat takes you out onto Upper Myakka Lake, where you observe alligators, birds, fish and the wild pigs on the far shore.
Tram Safari (Available only from Dec. 16-May 31 only): Land-based tour of the park and back country with guides who explain the history of the land and its wildlife.
Canoe and kayak rentals: Explore 14 miles of lakes and rivers within the park.
Bike rentals: Rent your bikes on site at the Myakka Outpost.
Things to do nearby: there’s plenty to explore, farms, ranches and dairies, many of them handed down through families from early settlers of the “Old Myakka Valley.”
Crowley Museum and Nature Center: Here’s a little corner of the world worth visiting because there’s a lot going on. This historic homestead features pioneer cabins, a school house, blacksmith shop and more.
Ringling Estate and Museum: Sarasota is “America’s Circus City,” home of the renowned Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. John Ringling’s estate is now the grounds for the Circus Museum, which houses circus memorabilia dating back more than a century. One of the main attractions is a miniature replica of the 1919-1938 circus. But that’s not all! There’s a museum of art, a 1798 European performing arts theater that was brought here from Italy and restored, a lovely 27,000 square-foot garden, and the Venetian style mansion where John Ringling lived from 1924 until his death in 1936. ringling.org
Historic Spanish Point: This 30-acre park has a 5,000-year history, as evidenced by a unique shell midden built through the centuries by native Americans who cast their discarded shells in a pile. The heart of the midden is visible through a glass wall built to protect it from weathering, and archaeological objects exposed to view include ancient pottery and tools. This tract on Little Sarasota Bay was also home to Mrs. Potter Palmer of the prominent pioneer family that once owned much of Sarasota County. Many of the historic buildings and gardens can be attributed to her era.

The beaches : 13 public beaches on six barrier islands in the Sarasota area, including some of the most beautiful beaches you’ll find anywhere in the U.S.

Hidden Mickey Safari At Animal Kingdom Lodge! | Free Disney Activity To Do On A Rainy Day!
In today's vlog we head to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to look for something fun to day on this rainy Disney Day! When we park at the resorts for activities like this, we always tell the gate attendants why we're there and let them make the decision if we can park there or not, sometimes we can and sometimes we can't but it doesn't hurt to ask. If they say no, we recommend parking at Disney Springs, because it's free, then bus over to the resort. Once we're at the resort we head to the front desk and ask for the Hidden Mickey Safari Scavenger Hunt! They also have another scavenger hunt type activity which we'll definitely be back to complete! We also found out that they have a cool beaded activity edutainment game, where you have different activities that you complete for a bead and then at the end you should have a cool string of beads to showcase! So then we start our Hidden Mickey Safari in the lobby. Honestly, these are so much harder than we thought they would be but it's super fun trying to find them. We ended up pretty much going on mini tour of the hotel, we started in the lobby and then out by the savanna and in the shops, food, and pool area. We weren't able to find them all this time either but we still had a blast! We hope you enjoyed this rainy day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!
