Kure Beach, Fort Fisher, Ferry To Southport, Awesome Fishing Boats and More - NC Coastline Drive
Here is some video from a recent day trip down from Wilmington, NC to Southport. Along the way we traveled through Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Fort Fisher State Park. We stopped at the state park to visit the beach. I got some pretty cool video of the beautiful beaches with gulls and pelicans. The Atlantic Ocean was pretty and blue. We caught the ferry from Ft. Fisher to Southport, NC. As we rode the ferry I got some nice shots of fishing boats and yachts. I'll be posting a followup video of our explorations in Southport. In this video you'll also get to meet Nikki's mom Margaret, and her brother John.

Southport, North Carolina - Visitor's Guide Magazine
Few locales are as captivating as the picturesque downtown of Southport. Age-old oak trees line the quaint city streets and frame stately Victorian homes, coastal cottages and historic buildings. The warm sea breeze touches everything here and, almost like magic, awakens the historic town into a bustling and cheerful coastal village.
Incorporated in 1792, Southport echoes of times past with it's historic structures and traditional downtown commercial district. The quaint city streets seem to be taken from an old postcard, with old-fashioned storefronts shaded by the famous old oak trees. Today modern shops, antique stores, boutiques and restaurants make up the downtown and offer a unique shopping experience. Find priceless antiques, unique arts and crafts, clothing, accessories and loads of gifts in every variety.

The New Gallants Channel Bridge Beaufort NC DJI Phantom 4 drone
BEAUFORT - A $66 million bridge project connecting Radio Island and the Town of Beaufort will begin shortly according to a spokesperson with NCDOT.
In February, a contract to build the bridge was awarded to Conti Enterprises, Inc. of Edison, N.J. The bridge will replace the Grayden Paul draw bridge, but will connect to Beaufort in an area not feeding directly into downtown. The 4 lane, 65 feet tall bridge will connect to West Beaufort Rd.
The NCDOT plan is intended to allow traffic to flow around the city and for emergency vehicles to have access to DownEast Carteret County without the chance of running into a raised draw bridge.
The project is expected to take just under 5 years to finish with completion expected by January of 2019.
Some business owners are excited for the bridge replacement.
It'll be a tremendous long term economic benefit I think to Morehead [City], Beaufort and surrounding counties and communities, said Steve Tulevech. Tulevech owns the Town Creek Marina, which is on West Beaufort Rd. With this being a DOT project, if we're going to get some state money thrown our way, I think it's good we are taking advantage of it.

Atlantic Beach, NC Inshore Kayak Fishing 2019
North Carolina below the Outer Banks is Atlantic Beach and Beauford, Fort Macon State Park and the Beauford Inlet. Great fishing for sure! This was a Labor Day week trip so it was hot and the mosquitos were brutal but the beach and the fishing were worth it! My nights were spent shark fishing on the surf but no camera or filming partners so no video but the sharks were great fun.

Oak Island North Carolina - Margaret Rudd & Associates
Located in the southeastern corner of North Carolina, Oak Island is a barrier island between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean with 14 miles of south-facing beach strand. Formed in 1999 with the merger of Yaupon Beach and Long Beach, the town of Oak Island is home to a public marina, two fishing piers, public launch locations for boating and kayaking and a municipal golf course. Also located on Oak Island is the town of Caswell Beach, home to the Oak Island Golf Club, an active Coast Guard station and the Oak Island Lighthouse. Volunteers from both towns and surrounding communities come together in many efforts to preserve and restore natural areas, including the protection of endangered sea turtles. Both Oak Island and the nearby city of Southport host numerous fishing tournaments and holiday festivals - visitors return year after year and many look forward to the day they can make Oak Island their year-round home.
