For those who prefer a backcountry experience, which is safer and not dependent on the weather, can take advantage of the Suusamyr Snowcatskiing programs. You are pulled by our snowcat, an all-terrain vehicle that also has a passenger cab for alpine skiers. Skitour and Backcountry programs are available for the most fit, experienced skiiers, who climb to the top of Tian Shan, and then fly down on untouched powder to the valley.

Otmok is located in the Suusamyr Valley in direction Talas oblast. There is a parking lot close to the slopes (42.236184, 73.198633) and many options for skiing in alpine terrain in North, East, South and West exposition with start and ending close to the street. You can choose between long slopes up to 2.5 km and short hike ups with fun runs. At the cross of the road Bishkek-Osh and Talas Oblast are some restaurants and a hotel (500 Som per night) excluding Breakfast (450 Som for 4 person) and Dinner (150-170 Som per meal). Usually you can spend easily 2 days in this area for Ski touring.

The Kyrgyz Ala-Too Mauntains:
The Kyrgyz Ala-Too is a large range in the North Tien-Shan. It stretches for a total length of 454 km from the west-end of Issyk-Kul to the town Taraz in Kazakhstan. It runs in the east-west direction, separating Chuy Valley from Kochkor Valley, Suusamyr Valley, and Talas Valley. Talas Ala-Too Range adjoins the Kyrgyz Ala-Too in vicinity of Töö Ashuu Pass. The western part of Kyrgyz Ala-Too serves as a natural border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
