Tapir 'predicts' CRica-Switzerland result as fans fill Nizhny Novgorod
(27 Jun 2018) TAPIR 'PREDICTS' COSTA RICA-SWITZERLAND RESULT
As Switzerland and Costa Rica supporters filled Nizhny Novgorod on Tuesday (27 JUNE 2018) ahead of their teams' World Cup match, Cleopatra, the tapir at the zoo who has become known for 'predicting' results gave her take: Switzerland will win.
Presented with treats in two dishes marked with Costa Rican and Swiss flags, Cleopatra chose to eat from the Swiss bowl.
Meanwhile, fans of both countries were confident, or at least hopeful, that their teams would win.
Costa Rica is in danger of being the only team to finish the World Cup in Russia without a goal.
The Costa Ricans slipped out of contention after losing 1-0 to Serbia and 2-0 to Brazil.
The loss to Brazil, after two injury-time goals, was especially tough to take.
Every other team in Russia has scored.
Costa Rica's last chance comes Wednesday against Switzerland.

This will be the first World Cup held in Europe since the 2006 tournament in Germany, the first ever to be held in Eastern Europe and the eleventh time that it has been held in Europe. All of the stadium venues are in European Russia to keep travel time manageable. It is expected to be the most expensive football championship in history, budgeted at US$ 11.8-14 billion surpassing the cost of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.[2][3]
The final tournament will involve 32 national teams, which include 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team. Of the 32 teams, 20 will be making back-to-back appearances following the last tournament in 2014, including defending champions Germany, while Iceland and Panama will both be making their first appearances at a FIFA World Cup. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on 15 July at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.[4][5][6]
The winners of the World Cup will qualify for the 2021 FIFA Confederations Cup. Pre-tournament, favorites to win the final were Brazil, France, Germany and Spain.[7]

Russia: Siemens wants sanctions lifted – Pres. of Siemens Russia and Central Asia
Dietrich Moller, head of the Siemens in Russia and Central Asia, noted that we have always said that we are against sanctions, that we stand for the lifting of these sanctions while speaking at the Conference on Industrial Internet Development in Moscow.
SOT, Dietrich Moller, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia (Russian): We have always said that we are against sanctions, that we stand for the lifting of these sanctions. But on the other hand, this is a political decision. And in Russia companies should take into account political decisions of the President and the Government. For us these political decisions are also laws that we respect. *JUMPCUT AT SOURCE*
SOT, Dietrich Moller, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia (Russian): You need to understand that politics is one thing and the economy is something else. That is why Siemens is not engaged in politics, but stands for good conditions for business. Actually, we stand for the lifting of these sanctions because they create a negative background and climate. *JUMPCUT AT SOURCE*
SOT, Dietrich Moller, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia (Russian):
Despite this situation we work in Russia, we invest, because we consider Russia not in the short term, but from the strategic perspective of our business. That is why we think that Russia is quite an interesting country for Siemens, because we will provide structural solutions that Russia needs in. *JUMPCUT AT SOURCE*
