ICELAND VLOG
One word to describe Iceland --- EXPENSIVE!
The cost of food is double what it is here in the U.S. A chicken sandwich $26, gas $6 a gallon, a cup of coffee $7.
Overall, our trip was amazing. We rented car, which gave us more freedom and allowed us to see and do everything we wanted to do.
Our first stop was the Golden circle, which is about an hour away from Reykjavik. This is a must see if you go to Iceland.
Our next stop was the Blue Lagoon, we booked this spa day online and chose the premium package. Which included a drink, a robe, custom blue lagoon flip flops, and a dinner reservation at LAVA restaurant plus free champagne upon arrival to the restaurant.
Our third stop, we wanted to see the waterfalls .We chose Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss (not shown in the video) these stops were two hours away from Reykjavik. from there, we made our way to the glacier lagoon (Jokulsarlon) which was another 3 hours away.
Thanks for watching ! Xoxo

The Blue Lagoon - Iceland - April 2016
A short video of our first visit to the Blue Lagoon, Iceland taken on 9 April 2016. This was our first ever visit to the beautiful volcanic island and whatever your opinion is on the Blue Lagoon, I highly recommend a visit. Yes, it is man made, but what better way to relax than in a hot pool with a cold Icelandic beer!

Northern lights, Iceland
Timelapse of the Northern lights taken during our trip in Iceland April 2017.
An aurora, sometimes referred to as a polar lights or northern lights, is a natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions. Auroras are produced when the magnetosphere is sufficiently disturbed by the solar wind that the trajectories of charged particles in both solar wind and magnetospheric plasma, mainly in the form of electrons and protons, precipitate them into the upper atmosphere (thermosphere/exosphere), where their energy is lost. The resulting ionization and excitation of atmospheric constituents emits light of varying colour and complexity.

SWIMMING BETWEEN 2 TECTONIC PLATES ICELAND | Hiking Glaciers, Eating Iceland Hotdogs, & Waterfalls
Iceland is unreal. The landscape is unparalleled. Our favorite experiences on this trip were hiking a glacier and swimming between two tectonic plates! We drove around the entire island and just generally enjoyed all that Iceland has to offer. Also, this was during the FIFA world cup and Iceland was competing, so the whole country shut down every time the Iceland national team was playing. We loved it!

Hi! We're just your average husband and wife flying around the world in business class for FREE. Without our miles and points, we never would have been able to afford this once-in-a-lifetime experience. We grew up on opposite sides of the United States in Texas and Ohio. Later in college, we met and got married in August of 2016. As poor newly weds and recent college grads, we moved to New York City to begin what we thought would be our long careers in finance. Only one year later, after accumulating over 2 million points through travel hacking, we booked round-the-world business class tickets to over 40 countries. Completely for free, using the personal travel hacks we had learned to save us $62,000. We quit our jobs, sold everything we owned, and began this once-in-a-lifetime adventure on August 27, 2018. Our hope is to entertain and enrich you every day through our daily videos, as well as share the personal travel hacks we're using to travel the world for free :) Let's be friends :) say hello sometime!

Iceland in April
Traveling in a camper is always a good idea. Traveling in a camper during the off-season might be an even better idea. Tom and Laura explored Iceland in a Happy 2 camper in early April. They were able to take full advantage of the low prices, less crowded attractions, and the northern lights experience.
