Tà Cú Mountain located in the town of Thuận Nam, Hàm Thuận Nam District.
At the height of 563 meters, there are two pagodas: the Upper Pagoda (Linh Sơn Trường Thọ) and the Lower Pagoda (Long Đoàn).
However, the mountain is most famous as the site of the statue of the reclining Gautama Buddha, which at 49 meters in length is the largest reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia.
The statue of the Buddha is an additional 300 steps from the top of the tram.
From the top of the mountain, there is a spectacular view of the dragon fruit farms and rice paddies below.
In the 1870s and 1880s, a Buddhist monk named Tran Huu Duc led a group of Buddhist faithful in the construction of the Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda.
After his death in 1997, a group of his followers built the lower Long Doan Pagoda.
Then in 1958, a man named Truong Dinh Tri began construction of the 49 meter-long, seven meter-high reclining Buddha, as well as three additional smaller Buddha statues.
There is a cave near the statues which has been named the Forefathers Cave.
At the bottom of the cave is a small stream, which disappears into the cave floor.
It is inside this cave that Tran Huu Duc spent much of his time in meditation

Beautiful cable car journey up the mountain listening to the incredible jungle sounds.
It was mid day and very hot.
The while mountain is worth visiting with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and fantastic temples at the top.

Near cable station visitors are surprised by the complex of Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda, towers, Buddhist statues and caves amidst ancient green trees. The pagoda was built between 1870 and 1880 with more than one hundred stone steps from its three-door gate to the sanctum. The pagoda’s roof with the Buddhist architectural style of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) stands out in the blue sky, showing the solemnity of the pagoda.
Following the stone steps, tourists see three Buddhist statues, representing the past, the present and the future. They are Amitabha Buddha, the Goddess of Mercy and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva which stand imposingly in the greenness of the forest. On the way to discover the beauty of the tourist area, visitors also see a statue of Nirvana, one of the most unique and biggest statues in Southeast Asia. The statue, 49m in length and 11m in height, was made from reinforced concrete and covered with white lime on a stone base, leaning on the mountain. It was built in 1962 and completed after nearly four years.

We visited the 49 m (160 ft) long reclining Buddha statue the longest one in Vietnam at Ta Cu Mountain 28 km south of Phan Thiet, two-hour hike through the verdant rainforest or a 10-minute cable-car ride to reach the top of Ta Cu Mountain’s peak
The cable car covers just over 1.5 kilometres, takes about six minutes and offers some beautiful views of the surrounding lowlands, crisscrossed with rice fields and dragonfruit tree plantations
Set atop Ta Cu Mountain, Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda features several worship halls, three entrance pillars, intricate animal sculptures, primogenitor caves, and colourful paintings of deities. Built in 1879, its main attraction is a 49-metre-long statue of a reclining Buddha that’s hailed as the biggest of its kind in Vietnam. Not far from the impressive structure is a cluster of statues called “Three Buddha Postures”, all of which measure 7 metres in height.
Once you get to the base of the site, walk up the sets of steep stairs passing various pagodas, a tourist cafe and statues until you reach the main attraction, Thich Ca Nhap Niet Ban, the reclining Buddha, or the pose as Buddha enters Nirvana. It is an impressive size.

Phan Thiết [fan.tʰíət] is the capital of Binh Thuan Province, on the coast in Vietnam. While most of the inhabitants live in the city center, the others live in the four urban coastal wards, extending from Suoi Nuoc beach in the northeast towards cape Ke Ga in the southwest.
Traditionally, fishing and manufacturing of fish sauce has been the main source of Phan Thiết's income thus far, the picturesque fishing fleet in the harbor colorful proof. Drawn by the beautiful beaches of the area, tourism is rapidly replacing the fish industry as the main employer.

Núi Tà Cú cao 649 m, nằm ven Quốc lộ 1A, thuộc thị trấn Thuận Nam, huyện Hàm Thuận Nam, cách Phan Thiết 28 km về phía Nam là một thắng cảnh và là một điểm leo núi của tỉnh Bình Thuận.
Nhiệt độ trung bình từ 18 đến 22 °C. Xưa kia đây là một ngọn núi lửa thuộc đệ nhất nguyên đại nên trong đất có vàng sa khoáng và sulfur.
Để lên tới đỉnh ngọn núi nằm trong khu rừng cấm, du khách có thể cần 2 giờ để vượt qua 2.290 m đường dốc. Bằng Lăng là đoạn dốc cao nhất, nghiêng 45°. Hoặc du khách có thể ngồi 10 phút trong cabin bay theo đoạn dây cáp dài 1.600 m ở độ cao 500 m, ngắm nhìn khu rừng xanh bao la.
Nằm ở độ cao 563 m (chưa tới đỉnh) là hai ngôi chùa: chùa Trên (Linh Sơn Trường Thọ) và chùa Dưới (Long Đoàn), cùng bậc thang đá cao và những ngọn tháp. Ở đây có bức tượng Phật Thích Ca nằm, làm bằng bê tông, quét vôi trắng dài 49 m. Dài hơn tượng phật nằm ở chùa Wat Pho nổi tiếng của Thái Lan 3 m
Chùa núi Tà Cú (người địa phương hay gọi đơn giản là chùa Núi) là một ngôi chùa tọa lạc trên núi Tà Cú ở độ cao hơn 400 m, thuộc thị trấn Thuận Nam, huyện Hàm Thuận Nam, tỉnh Bình Thuận, gần quốc lộ 1A, cách Phan Thiết 28 km về phía Nam. Chùa này là một di tích lịch sử - văn hóa quốc gia của Việt Nam.
Lịch Sử
Vào giữa thế kỷ 19 nhà sư Trần Hữu Đức (1812-1887) pháp danh Thông Ân, pháp hiệu Hữu Đức từ Phú Yên vào Bình Thuận dựng một thảo am ở làng Kim Thạnh (Bàu Trâm) vừa tu hành vừa bốc thuốc. Ông đã từng tu hành và góp nhiều công sức chăm lo Phật sự ở nhiều chùa tại Bình Thuận như chùa Cổ Thạch, Linh Sơn (Tuy Phong), Phước Hưng (Phan Thiết) và một số chùa ở đảo Phú Quý. Năm 1872 nhà sư lên núi Tà Cú tu hành trong một hang đá (sau này gọi là hang Tổ). Cho đến lúc mất, sư Hữu Đức không xuống núi nữa. Lúc đương thời nhà sư Hữu Đức là một thầy thuốc giỏi. Năm Tự Đức thứ 33 (1880) hoàng thái hậu bệnh nặng, chư thần tâu xin rước sư về giúp trị bệnh nhưng nhà sư từ chối, chỉ gởi người về triều. Bệnh hoàng thái hậu hết, vua Tự Đức mới ban cho tên chùa là Linh Sơn Trường Thọ và nhà sư là Đại lão hòa thượng. Đến khi nhà sư Hữu Đức viên tịch (nhằm ngày 5 tháng 10 năm 1887 âm lịch) thì sư Tâm Hiền lập ngôi chùa mới ở phía dưới, sau này gọi là chùa Dưới hay chùa Long Đoàn và chùa Linh Sơn Trường Thọ là chùa Trên.
