But first, a glimpse of the most important company in entire Japan: Toyota.
Nagoya is the birthplace of Toyota in Japan. The headquarters today are located in Toyota (Nagoya metro area), but it all started here. As a matter of fact, as a textile industry. ► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)

YOKOHAMA, Japan: Nissan Stadium, Ramen Museum, Cup Noodles Museum | Vlog 5
Yokohama, Japan is well known for soccer (or football ????) and ramen. In this video, you see the most famous attractions in both fields. In Shin-Yokohama, we visit the Nissan Stadium (also known as Yokohama Stadium), and the Ramen Museum, where you can try some of the best ramen bowls you'll ever have. Food in Japan is always delicious!
The Nissan Stadium is famous for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final and is often used for major events in Japan. In 2020, it will also host Olympic soccer matches. Now that the Rugby World Cup is over, stadium visits have resumed.
From the Ramen Museum, we went to the Cup Noodles Museum, back in Minato Mirai 21, where you can learn about Momofuku Ando, the creator of instant ramen noodles, the history of instant ramen and cupnoodles. We closed the day visiting the mall across the street, World Porters, and enjoying the view from the Ferris wheel at Cosmo World.
Yokohama is perfect for a Tokyo day trip, but my advice? Stay longer ????
Yokohama is located in the Tokyo metro area and has one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Japan. In this series of videos, you will keep watching a detailed Yokohama, Japan tour, including a lot of things to do.

Japanese Knife & Sword City: Seki Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Traveling for KNIVES and SWORDS! The Japanese knife is quite simply the best in the world. The place best known for them is Seki (関市) in Gifu where Japanese Samurai swords have been forged for over 700 years. That tradition continues today in its knives and cutlery. They're perfect.
Following World War 2, the city changed from forging the katana to producing some of the world's best knives and cutlery. So, I ended up at Seki Station recently -- to buy the best knife in Japan! Maybe even a samurai sword, too.
In this episode, John travels to Seki city in Gifu prefecture to check out the CUTLERY FESTIVAL known as the HAMONO MATSURI (刃物まつり) in Japan. Now only will you find over 43 knife makers selling their best at discounted prices, you'll see the most unique knives anywhere as well as Chanbara performances (Samurai Sword Fight Acting).
The most unique part of the Hamono Festuval is an authentic demonstration of traditional sword forging using Tamahagane Steel.
HOW MUCH IS A REAL SAMURAI SWORD?
They start at 400,000 to 600,000 Yen ($4,000 to $6000) and can go up to $20,000! We'll see swords being made in Seki.
HOW TO BUY A JAPANESE KNIFE:
There many things to consider such as the type of steel, the type of knife, it's balance and of course, it's price.
WHEN IS SEKI'S HAMONO CUTLERY FESTIVAL ( 刃物まつり ) ?
2019 October 12th and 13th (Saturday & Sunday)
URL: (English available)
* It takes place on the second weekend of October annually.
The knife I bought:
Mcusta ZANMAI Classic Pro Damascus Flame
Santoku 180mm ¥15,000 Festival Price
Hida Beef (Hida Gyu 飛騨牛) is one of Japan's top wagyu beef and worth trying in Gifu or the Nagoya area.
HOW TO GET TO SEKI:
Best is to rent a car. It's easiest to get around this way because trains don't leave often in the countryside and many places like Monet's Pond can be accessed only by infrequent buses.
By Train, it's a short and scenic ride from Nagoya Station or Gifu Station.

THANK YOU!

What is Damascus Steel?
Mr. Walter Sorrells made an excellent video on YouTube explaining it. I also learned more about knife making from his channel.

The Wallace Antiques Gallery A Museum With Price Tags Wallace Idaho
My Last Antique Store Video for a while. I get to take a peek inside the Wallace Antique Gallery/Northwest Wines here in Wallace. This shop opened just a few months ago.A wise man I know once said, “A Good Antique Store is a Museum with Price Tags”. This, then is one of the best!
Owned by Rich Asher (who also owns North Idaho Trading Company), Wallace Antiques has a eclectic collection of items that appeal to a wide variety of tastes and interests. Located at 604 Bank Street, this place is a ‘must see’ place if you are in the area.
This was written and filmed to be a guided tour but my daughter (Amber) had wisdom teeth that were so bad she could not do it. So I tried to re-write it and edit it, plus try to narrate it in a style it was not meant to be. So I hope the video does not take anything away from what a great gallery this really is. If you are ever in the area, this place (along with the others) are worth getting off I-90 to see. (My opinion)
Links to other Wallace Antique Store Video’s. The first two were Historic Building documentaries I made for the Historic Wallace Preservation Society. Both just happened to have antique stores in them at the time. But they are still pretty cool places to check out. Thanks to youtuber, “Indyme2” for the “Mantique Store” idea.

Highway through a Building Story ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Osaka's Gate Tower Building is an amazing sight to see because ... well, how should I put this? A highway goes through the building.
It literally does, and there is a story behind it.
In this episode, John not only goes inside to see where the elevator takes him, he also drives through it -- in a Lotus Seven. We'll also go up the Umeda Sky Building and catch some fantastic angles of the city, skyline and Gate Tower Building.
THE STORY:
Here it is from the building owner.
It’s basically a land rights dispute with a sort of happy ending.
The property was owned by a business (coal and wood company) since the early Meiji era but when business declined, so did the buildings in the 1970s. The area was approved to be redeveloped in 1983 but the property holder refused to give up the land, even though new building permits had been refused to him. The highway corporation and the property owner negotiated for 5 years and what you see today is their compromise. Highways usually buy the land they’re on but a new law in 1989 allowed the possibility of having two owners on the same spot, really meant for highways to go underground but hey – let’s get creative.
The highway is the legal tenant of floors 5 through 7.
The current building tenant on the other floors is TKP.
WHERE IS THE BUILDING WITH THE HIGHWAY THROUGH IT?
Google map:
Closest Station: JR Fukushima Station
It's one stop away from JR Osaka Station on the Loop Line.
Special thank you to TKP and the building owners for allowing me to film inside the building.

So while in Medellin Colombia, we couldn't resist going to explore Pablo Escobar's abandoned mansion. He's a very controversial figure in the country, so we're obviously not trying to glorify him or his history simply documenting his ruins.. and taking the chance to have some fun paint-balling.

Revealed: This Unexpected Truth Behind Doraemon and Nobita Will Change Your Perspective on this Show
----

----
A brief overview: Doraemon is a manga character created by Fujiko F. Fujiya – Japan’s comic writer. Doraemon travels back in time from the 22nd century to help better the life of a boy named Nobita.
-------
STORY - However, the latest emotional story that has been circulating around is that the series was based on a kid named Nobita who was suffering from Schizophrenia in which a person has less mental controls. Nobita used to be abused and bullied in his school because he suffered from this mental condition and which made him feel mediocre and abandoned.
His medical condition made him imagine the character, Doraemon, who helped him in every way possible – making him Nobita’s best (imaginary) friend. At the age of 16, when Nobita started his medical counseling, it was then when he was told that Doraemon does not exist and that it is just his mere imagination. This shattered Nobita and he was lonely again after facing the harsh reality.
Nobita couldn’t bear the truth and shot himself at the age of 16. Nobita’s story inspired the writer to make the Doraemon series as a tribute to Nobita’s soul.
How many of you believe this story? Or is just another rumor? Let us know in the comments!........

Welcome to Obama City ★ ONLY in JAPAN
This place is for real! A city in Japan called Obama. They must have named it after the former president, right?
Well ...
Republicans can sigh a breath of relief as this Obama was here first. Obama City, Japan's history goes back centuries and the coincidence of phonetically having the same name as Barack Obama's last name is what makes the city stand out internationally. Oh, in case you're wondering, in Japanese, Obama actually means Small Beach.
Like any town with such a unique coincidence, the city embraced it and made a strong bond with the Senator then President.
It started when Senator Obama landed in Japan and the immigration officer told him he was from Obama!
But take a step back from the last 10 years and you'll find another kind of city.
Obama City is located in Fukui Prefecture, about 70km from Kyoto on the Sea of Japan. It was the Gateway to Japan for centuries before the Edo period because it was the closest link to Kyoto from the Sea. The route used was called MACKEREL ROAD because SABA (Mackerel) was the most traded fish, delivered to Kyoto endlessly along with loads of other goods to and from the imperial city.
▶︎ WHERE IS OBAMA?
▶︎ WHAT CAN YOU DO IN OBAMA?
Well, eat!
Obama Fish Market is friendly and has an amazing teishoku restaurant that opens early.
It's also famous for lacquerware (luxury chopsticks, boxes) and it's hundreds of temples and shrines in the mountains.
There are also boat tours cruising along the picturesque coast.
If you want to visit the President Barack Obama Library / Museum of sort, head to the lobby of the Hotel Sekumiya between JR Obama Station and the sea.
Political note: The Trump Obama debate is not something I cover in this episode nor Democrats vs Republicans. I have no personal opinion in this episode and actually tease the situation :)
If there were a Trump city, I'd cover that too but phonetically Obama O-BA-MA works well in Japanese and is also a last name in Japan.
Japan is looking forward to President Donald Trump's visit in November just like they would any strong ally and he'll have a warm welcome just like former President Obama did when he visited. I do recommend President Trump visit Obama City. The hotel I stayed in is no Trump Tower but it was good enough for the US Ambassador John Roos.

Houston 4K - Skyscraper Drive - Driving Downtown - Texas USA
Thursday afternoon drive around downtown Houston Texas, the 4th largest city in the US. Video focuses on the downtown area of the city and passes by a number of popular attractions and points of interest. Enjoy! Tag your favorite spots in the comments below!
Houston is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas, fourth most populous city in the United States, as well as the sixth most populous in North America, with an estimated 2018 population of 2.3 million residents. Houston is the principal city of the Greater Houston metropolitan area, which is the fifth most populous metropolitan statistical area in the United States and the second most populous in Texas after the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with a population of 7 million in 2018.
Comprising a total area of 637.4 square miles (1,651 km2), Houston is the eighth most expansive city in the United States (including consolidated city-counties). It is the largest city in the United States by total area, whose government is similarly not consolidated with that of a county or borough.
The arrival of the 20th century saw a convergence of economic factors which fueled rapid growth in Houston, including a burgeoning port and railroad industry, the decline of Galveston as Texas' primary port following a 1900 hurricane, the subsequent construction of the Houston Ship Channel, and the Texas oil boom. In the mid-20th century, Houston's economy diversified as it became home to the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
Houston's economy since the late-20th century has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. Leading in healthcare sectors and building oilfield equipment, Houston has the second most Fortune 500 headquarters of any U.S. municipality within its city limits (after New York City). The Port of Houston ranks first in the United States in international waterborne tonnage handled and second in total cargo tonnage handled. Nicknamed the Space City and H-Town, Houston has become a global city, with strengths in culture, medicine, and research. The city has a population from various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. Houston is the most diverse metropolitan area in Texas and has been described as the most racially and ethnically diverse major metropolis in the U.S. It is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year to the Museum District. Houston has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theater District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.
