Bandits 12U vs. Tainan City, Taiwan on 3TV - August 16, 2014
It was the Desert Bandits vs. Taiwan this morning in a fun, cultural and televised event. At the invitation of the City of Scottsdale, the 12U Desert Bandits took to the field to play Tainan City in an exhibition game at Chaparral Park. The Taiwanese players traveled 17 hours and over 7,000 miles to play ball, tour Arizona and meet kids from across the globe with the same passion, dedication and love of the sport. The final score of 17-10 took a back seat to the thrill of playing internationally, along with a 3TV camera crew that captured a game highlight, live on the air. And even though the boys of Taiwan did not speak English, it was apparent, the kids from both teams did share... the language of baseball.

MEXICAN STREET FOOD- TLACOLULA MARKET food in OAXACA
Subscribe for more food and travel videos:
Chasing a Plate is in Oaxaca, Mexico! We are going to Tlacolula Market today it's one of the biggest and oldest markets in the Oaxacan area. We opt to get the bus to Tlacolula- we were supposed to get the bus up to the baseball stadium and then have to get another bus but the bus came by which said Tlacolula anyway so we just jumped on. We got dropped right outside Tlacolula market and it cost 15 pesos each/ 70 or 80 cents USD.
A lot of surrounding farmers and ranchers and families come into the market to sell and trade their goods and so it's a place to meet their friends and do business and chat, it's a really convivial atmosphere.
The first thing we sample is tejate. It's a pre-Hispanic drink, it's made out of corn, or maize, cacao and also the pip of the mamey fruit which has been roasted. It's really good and really refreshing.
We then buy some tamales! These are mole negro, negro being the dark mole so mole is the sauce of the region, it has chocolate and chilis and herbs and garlic and onion, everyone has a different recipe, these will have chicken, the corn dough, mole and it's wrapped and steamed.
Tlacolula is really nice, it's actually not too crowded and there's so much to look at, so many different foods to try, gorgeous flowers everywhere, women in traditional dress, it's really vibrant and colourful.
We grab some lunch of rotisserie chicken which comes with rice, frijoles (beans), macaroni salad, coleslaw and tortillas of course. All for 35 pesos! Lunch done, it was fine nothing to really bother talking about too much, not too exciting and it was a bit dry.
If you're tossing up over Tlacolula market and Ocotlan market which you would have seen two vlogs ago our vote is definitely Ocotlan. Tlacolula has a lot of tourists around, we're in that pool obviously but it doesn't feel as earthy, rural and it's not nearly as exciting. There's more food options too at Ocotlan.
We head back to Oaxaca as we're sitting down to film a podcast with our mate Ryan Wilkes from The Path Less Traveled:
After filming the podcast it's dinner time and we are keen to try a popular Oaxaca street food. A tlayuda! A tlayuda is a gigantic tortilla which is baked and it comes with pork lard, beans, quesillo- Oaxacan string cheese and you can add meats on the top. We've added steak and also chorizo. Traditionally that's all a tlayuda has but sometimes you see them and they're served open with avocado, tomato, lettuce and all that sort of fancy stuff on the top. But we're going trad tonight. People describe it like a Mexican pizza! The meal with 2 drinks and 2 tlayudas is 140 peso so about $7USD. Bargain!
Thank you so much for watching we've had an awesome day exploring Oaxaca and the surrounds.
We hope we've inspired you to eat and explore like a traveler, not a tourist.

SUMMARY
=======
Taiwan ( ( listen), UK also ), officially the Republic of China (ROC), is a state in East Asia. Its neighbors include the People's Republic of China (PRC) to the west, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. It is the most populous state and largest economy that is not a member of the United Nations.
The island of Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa, was inhabited by aborigines before the 17th century, when Dutch and Spanish colonies opened the island to mass Han immigration. After a brief rule by the Kingdom of Tungning, the island was annexed in 1683 by the Qing dynasty, the last dynasty of China. The Qing ceded Taiwan to Japan in 1895 after the Sino-Japanese War. While Taiwan was under Japanese rule, the Republic of China (ROC) was established on the mainland in 1912 after the fall of the Qing dynasty. Following the Japanese surrender to the Allies in 1945, the ROC took control of Taiwan. However, the resumption of the Chinese Civil War led to the ROC's loss of the mainland to the Communists, and the flight of the ROC government to Taiwan in 1949. Although the ROC continued to claim to be the legitimate government of China, its effective jurisdiction had, since the loss of Hainan in 1950, been limited to Taiwan and several small islands, with the main island making up 99% of its de facto territory. As a founding member of the United Nations, the ROC represented China at the UN until 1971, when it lost its seat to the PRC.
In the early 1960s, Taiwan entered a period of rapid economic growth and industrialization, creating a stable industrial economy. In the 1980s and early 1990s, it changed from a one-party military dictatorship dominated by the Kuomintang to a multi-party democracy with a semi-presidential system. Taiwan is the 22nd-largest economy in the world, and its high-tech industry plays a key role in the global economy. It is ranked highly in terms of freedom of the press, healthcare, public education, economic freedom, and human development. The country benefits from a highly skilled workforce and is among the most highly educated countries in the world with one of the highest percentages of its citizens holding a tertiary education degree.The PRC has consistently claimed sovereignty over Taiwan and asserted the ROC is no longer in legitimate existence. Under its One-China policy the PRC refuses diplomatic relations with any country that recognizes the ROC. Today, 17 countries maintain official ties with the ROC but many other states maintain unofficial ties through representative offices and institutions that function as de facto embassies and consulates. Although Taiwan is fully self-governing, most international organizations in which the PRC participates either refuse to grant membership to Taiwan or allow it to participate only as a non-state actor. Internally, the major division in politics is between the aspirations of eventual Chinese unification or Taiwanese independence, though both sides have moderated their positions to broaden their appeal. The PRC has threatened the use of military force in response to any formal declaration of independence by Taiwan or if PRC leaders decide that peaceful unification is no longer possible. The PRC and ROC standoff dates from the Chinese Civil War and has extended through the first, second and third Taiwan Strait crises to the present day.

Taipei (; Hokkien POJ: Tâi-pak), officially known as Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of Taiwan (officially the Republic of China, ROC). Sitting at the northern tip of the island, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city Keelung. Most of the city is located in the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed. The basin is bounded by the relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border.The city proper is home to an estimated population of 2,704,810 (2015), forming the core part of the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area, which includes the nearby cities of New Taipei and Keelung with a population of 7,047,559, the 40th most-populous urban area in the world—roughly one-third of Taiwanese citizens live in the metro district. The name Taipei can refer either to the whole metropolitan area or the city proper.
Taipei is the political, economic, educational, and cultural center of Taiwan and one of the major hubs in East Asia. Considered to be a global city and rated as an Alpha City by GaWC, Taipei is part of a major high-tech industrial area. Railways, high-speed rail, highways, airports, and bus lines connect Taipei with all parts of the island. The city is served by two airports – Taipei Songshan and Taiwan Taoyuan. Taipei is home to various world-famous architectural or cultural landmarks, which include Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Dalongdong Baoan Temple, Hsing Tian Kong, Lungshan Temple of Manka, National Palace Museum, Presidential Office Building, Taipei Guest House, Ximending, and several night markets dispersed throughout the city. Natural features such as Maokong, Yangmingshan, and hot springs are also well known to international visitors.
In English-language news reports the name Taipei often serves as a synecdoche referring to Taiwan's national government. Due to the ambiguous political status of Taiwan internationally, the term Chinese Taipei is also sometimes pressed into service as a synonym for the entire country, as when Taiwan's government representatives participate in international organizations or Taiwan's athletes participate in international sporting events.

Little League World Series
The Little League Baseball World Series is an annual baseball tournament for children aged 11 to 13 years old. It was originally called the National Little League Tournament and was later renamed for the World Series in Major League Baseball. It was first held in 1947 and is held every August in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in the United States. (The postal address of the organization is in Williamsport, but the stadium complex is in South Williamsport.)
Initially, only teams from the US competed in the World Series but it has since become a worldwide tournament. The tournament has gained popular renown, especially in the United States, where games from the Series and even from regional tournaments are broadcast on ESPN. In 2006, the age limit was changed such that players could turn 13 after May 1, not August 1, as had previously been the case. As the series takes place in August, many of the players have already turned 13 before the World Series.

SUMMARY
=======
The Little League Baseball World Series is an annual baseball tournament in the eastern United States for children aged 10 to 12 years old. Originally called the National Little League Tournament, it was later renamed for the World Series in Major League Baseball. The Series was first held 72 years ago in 1947 and is held every August in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. (Although the postal address of the organization is in Williamsport, the Series itself is played at Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium at the Little League headquarters complex in South Williamsport.)
Initially, only teams from the United States competed in the Series, but it has since become a worldwide tournament. The tournament has gained popular renown, especially in the United States, where games from the Series and even from regional tournaments are broadcast on ESPN. The United States collectively as a country has won a plurality of the series, although from 1969 to 1991 teams from Taiwan dominated the series, winning in 15 out of those 23 years. Taiwan's dominance during those years has been attributed to a national effort to combat its perceived diplomatic isolation around the world. From 2010 to the present, teams from Tokyo, Japan, have similarly dominated the series, winning five of the last nine matchups.
While the Little League Baseball World Series is frequently referred to as just the Little League World Series, it is actually one of twelve tournaments sponsored by Little League International, in twelve different locations. Each of them brings community teams from different Little League International regions around the world together in baseball (five age divisions), girls' softball (four age divisions), and boys' softball (three divisions). The tournament structure described here is that used for the Little League Baseball World Series. The structure used for the other World Series is similar, but with different regions.

SUMMARY
=======
Taipei (; Mandarin: [tʰǎipèi]; Hokkien POJ: Tâi-pak), officially known as Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of Taiwan (officially the Republic of China, ROC). Located in the northern part of the Island of Taiwan, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city Keelung.
The city is served by two airports – Songshan and Taoyuan.
In English-language news reports the name Taipei often serves as a synecdoche referring to central government of Taiwan. Due to the ambiguous political status of Taiwan internationally, the term Chinese Taipei is also frequently pressed into service as a synonym for the entire country, as when Taiwan's governmental representatives participate in international organizations or Taiwan's athletes participate in international sporting events.

=======
Oklahoma City (), often shortened to OKC, is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The county seat of Oklahoma County, the city ranks 27th among United States cities in population. The population grew following the 2010 Census, with the population estimated to have increased to 643,648 as of July 2017. As of 2015, the Oklahoma City metropolitan area had a population of 1,358,452, and the Oklahoma City-Shawnee Combined Statistical Area had a population of 1,459,758 residents, making it Oklahoma's largest metropolitan area.
Oklahoma City's city limits extend into Canadian, Cleveland, and Pottawatomie counties, though much of those areas outside the core Oklahoma County area are suburban or rural (watershed). The city ranks as the ninth-largest city in the United States by total area (including consolidated city-counties; it is the second largest city in the United States by total area, after Houston, whose government is similarly not consolidated with that of a county or borough).
Lying in the Great Plains region, Oklahoma City has one of the world's largest livestock markets. Oil, natural gas, petroleum products and related industries are the largest sector of the local economy. The city is in the middle of an active oil field and oil derricks dot the capitol grounds. The federal government employs large numbers of workers at Tinker Air Force Base and the United States Department of Transportation's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (these two sites house several offices of the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Department's Enterprise Service Center, respectively).
Oklahoma City is on the I-35 Corridor, which is one of the primary travel corridors south into neighboring Texas and Mexico and north towards Wichita and Kansas City. Located in the state's Frontier Country region, the city's northeast section lies in an ecological region known as the Cross Timbers. The city was founded during the Land Run of 1889, and grew to a population of over 10,000 within hours of its founding. The city was the scene of the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, in which 168 people died. It was the deadliest terror attack in the history of the United States until the attacks of September 11, 2001, and remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history.
Since the time weather records have been kept, Oklahoma City has been struck by thirteen strong tornadoes; eleven of these tornadoes were rated F4 or EF4 on the Fujita and Enhanced Fujita scales, and two were rated F5 or EF5.Since 2008, Oklahoma City has been home to the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s Oklahoma City Thunder, who play their home basketball games at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
