Visiting Taling Chan Floating Market - Bangkok, Thailand
Today we visited Taling Chan Floating Market. For some reason, we didn't visit a floating market during our last trip to Bangkok. However this time it's something we really, really wanted to do.
We decided to go to Taling Chan Floating Market as we'd been told it was slightly less crowded than some of the other markets and despite our confusion, we had a wonderful time!

Taling Chan Floating market
On the Monday of the holiday weekend, we visit Taling Chan Floating market. Food was very good, and the market was quiet due to it being a long weekend.
Taling Chan Floating Market @Bangkok
This small weekend floating market - Taling Chan Floating Market features the fresh market together with some of the unique product. This market only open on Saturday & Sunday from morning until 6pm.
Other than that, you can take a boat tour from the market to explore the life of the Thai local riverside people.
Not recommend to purposely travel from Bangkok to visit this place, but it's a good stop point for you when on the way to Hua Hin/Nakhon Phatom / Kanchanaburi or middle west side of Thailand.
Taling Chan Floating Market in Bangkok
Best time to go to Taling Chan floating market is around 10am Saturday or Sunday. Take the 90 minute boat ride, 100 baht. It's worth it. They will stop at 2 other floating markets. Lots of good food at the 2nd floating market. Taling Chan floating market was packed when we got back from the boat ride. Taling Chan floating market is about 15-20 minutes from downtown Bangkok. Best to get there by a taxi, should be under 100 baht from downtown Bangkok.

Thailand's Best FLOATING MARKET with Mark Wiens!
Have you ever heard of a floating market before? If not, you're in for a real treat (literally, wait until you see how much we ate)!
In Thailand, some markets are floating -- meaning they function entirely on narrow canals with small boats moving up and down . You pay a small price to hire a boat driver for an hour (or longer), and then choose which delicious meals to eat from dozens of vendors (on boats) with elderly women cooking up something unique. It's all cheap and delicious and this is debatably the best experience you can have in Thailand.
This morning, my buddy Mark Wiens from Migrationology and I headed 2 hours outside of Bangkok to a floating market called Damnoen Saduak, where he introduced me to some of Thailand's best dishes. We had a blast shooting this video and I hope you enjoy what we have to share!
Also -- If you don't already know, Mark makes some of the best food travel videos out there, so check out his page below for more deliciousness.

TALING CHAN FLOATING MARKET IN BANGKOK THAILAND
Taling Chan Floating Market is a small but well-formed market in the Taling Chan district of Bangkok. The food there is excellent, so I thought I would make a video. All filmed on a Lumix TZ70.

Bangkok Taling Chan Floating Market
Day trip by Grab Taxi to Taling Chan Water Market. There are numerous water markets in the Bangkok area but this one I like best because it is less known and the crowds are smaller. The long boat trip to a local temple while there is not to be missed. Taling Chan is only open Saturday and Sunday and although a tourist attraction it seems more local and authentic.
TRADITIONAL FLOATING MARKET (Thailand) - Vlog #41
One of the most unique experiences ever, right in Bangkok! This floating market is a traditional one with less tourists and more locals. If you want to eat with the locals and truly experience a floating market, checkout the Taling Chan Floating Market. It won't disappoint you!
Cheers! #SeeLauTravel
